[0:00] Hello, Hornet Community! This is Dr. Stacie Stanley, Superintendent of Edina Public Schools.
It was fantastic to see so many of you at this year’s Homecoming festivities! Homecoming is one of my favorite times of year. It is not only an Edina High School event but also a rich tradition that brings the entire Edina community together to celebrate Hornet pride and belonging.
Each year, I am moved by the number of alumni that return for this annual gathering. I am so proud that so many of you now send your own children to Edina Public Schools and pass down the Homecoming legacy to the next generation. We caught up with a few alumni and community members at this year’s festivities. Take a listen to what they had to say about what the Edina community and homecoming means to them.
Thank you so much for sharing your stories with us.
And how about our Hornets! Congratulations to our football players and coaches on their Homecoming win and continued successful season! Also want to send congratulations to this year’s Homecoming Court! The band, cheerleaders, dancers, and Hornettes all had outstanding performances! A special thank you to the Edina Athletic Booster Club for the showstopping fireworks!
The connections to the Edina school community are deep and strong. They are what make Edina extraordinary.
I am joining you from the boardroom this month to remind everyone that you are invited to attend our school board meetings or watch the livestream. Our next regular school board meeting is Monday, November 4 at 7 pm. Attending or watching is a great way to stay connected to what is happening throughout the district.
As we head into the fall break, I wish you much relaxation. Take care Hornet community, and be well.
