[Music] the Adina human rights and relations commission will host its 13th annual days of remembrance event later this month this year's event titled genocide in Ukraine from Stalin to Hitler to Putin will take place in the council chambers of Ed City Hall 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday May 15th keynote speaker will be Ellen J Kennedy and din resident and founder and executive director of world without genocide a renowned human rights organization the event will delve into the harrowing realities faced by the Ukrainian people through history Kennedy will address the ongoing crisis in Ukraine along with the atrocities of Hitler that claimed nearly 1.6 million Jewish lives and Stalin's genocidal starvation that claimed nearly 4 million lives all in Ukraine well we're really honored to have Dr Kennedy who is uh the founder and executive director of world without genocide and she's a nationally and internationally recognized expert on the subject we're going to continue to honor uh every year the the memory of the millions of people who were uh killed during the Nazi era uh but Dr Kennedy is going to focus on a continuing genocide that's really happened since the Stalin era in Ukraine and it's a good reminder the genocide goes on today as it did uh back in the 30s and 40s for those who cannot attend in person the event will also be broadcast live on Edina TV and streamed live on Edina mn.gov meetings
