The uh major [0:08] construction that took place on France [0:10] Avenue last year resulted in the [0:12] construction of the Metro Eine and now [0:15] that's substantially complete and [0:17] service on the new bus rapid transit [0:19] line or BRT line begins this coming [0:22] Saturday, December 6th. It's a 13.3 mile [0:26] long e-line that runs from Westgate [0:28] station on the Minneapolis St. Paul [0:30] border to the Southdale Transit Center [0:32] here in Edina traveling mainly along [0:35] University Avenue, Henipan Avenue and [0:37] France Avenue. It connects riders to [0:39] destinations like the University of [0:41] Minnesota, Dinky Town, Northeast [0:43] Minneapolis, Downtown, Uptown, 50th in [0:47] France, MH Hill Fairview Southtale [0:49] Hospital and then ending at the [0:50] Southdale Center. With this change, [0:53] Route 6 will be replaced by the Eline [0:55] and the new Route 36 starting Saturday. [0:58] You can try the Eline for free on [1:00] opening day between 8:00 a.m. and 10 [1:02] p.m. Thanks to Minneapolis College, [1:05] Metro Transit staff will be riding along [1:07] to answer questions about schedules, [1:09] fairs, and features of the new service. [1:12] The celebration also kicks off week-long [1:14] passport adventure along the Eline [1:16] corridor. Ride the Eline, visit [1:19] participating businesses, and collect [1:21] stamps in your Eline passport. Earn [1:23] stamps from three different communities, [1:25] and you'll receive an exclusive prize. [1:28] Edina businesses participating include [1:30] Vivont Kitchen Knife Shop, the Adina [1:33] Theater, and Studio 23. At 50th in [1:36] France, the fun continues with a [1:38] gingerbread contest on Saturday from [1:40] 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Vote for your [1:43] favorite creation. Decorate cookies, [1:45] dance with the gingerbread man and [1:47] Sparkles the Elf, and enjoy a holiday [1:49] book fair. If you arrive on the Eline, [1:52] you'll even receive a special prize.
