I'm Julie Risser I serve on Edina City Council and for the past year I have been fighting cancer this is breast cancer awareness month and I think it's really important to talk about I was diagnosed with her two positive breast cancer and I was so lucky because they caught it early honestly it was a statement by my husband we've maxed out our deductible go get your tasks that you haven't done and so I thought okay I'm going to go get that 3D mam and this will be the way that I'll do it before having the first treatment planned a trip to New Mexico and so that was a really positive thing boosting you know what my body could do I think helped tea me up for some of the challenges that I would experience physically I had to have six treatments I had the hair loss I had low levels of oxygen it was hard to walk next week I have my final infusion so I'm really happy about that I was fortunate to have a curable form of cancer and also to have a amazing support system here at the frow Ando Center and also within the community but there's no detection of it they consider me cured and so that is really a great win my parents are in town and they were absolutely amazing supports my daughters my husband and then the Adina Community I've been particularly touched seeing the Adina police who are wearing the pink badge for breast cancer support and it just it makes me feel like I'm part of a wider Network I so appreciate all the support again early detection is so important get that annual mammogram but it's not just thinking about a lump it can also be a dimple or a crease so signs that you don't necessarily think of can be an indicator and so that is really important to be mindful of that [Music]
