[0:00] Well, greetings everybody. This is Jim
[0:01] Hufflin, your Dina Mayor, and this is
[0:04] the mayor's minute for Wednesday,
[0:05] December 10th, 2025. Already a third of
[0:08] the way through December, not that far
[0:10] from the holidays. You know, we've had
[0:12] some great things going on around town,
[0:13] especially down at 50th in France. And
[0:16] as we all know, our downtown, our 50th
[0:18] in France is a really special place year
[0:20] round, but it's especially magical
[0:22] during the holidays. There are many
[0:25] events happening throughout the season
[0:26] and I want to highlight two coming up
[0:28] very very soon. First, tomorrow night is
[0:32] called Luminary Night at 50th in France
[0:34] and that takes place from 5 to 7:00 p.m.
[0:36] on, as I said, Thursday, December 11th.
[0:39] That's tomorrow night. Come on down and
[0:41] enjoy sidewalks lined with glowing ice
[0:44] luminaries, roaming carolers, delicious
[0:46] food and drink, and great shopping while
[0:48] supporting our local businesses. They
[0:50] could really use the help. Many shops
[0:52] will stay open until 7 or 8 o'clock that
[0:54] night and the restaurants will be open
[0:56] even later. Then next week, there's an
[0:58] opportunity to give back in a truly
[1:01] meaningful way because we're going to
[1:02] have a community blood drive that'll be
[1:04] held at 3924 West 50th Street. I think
[1:07] it's roughly across from the from the
[1:09] theater, Dina Theater, uh in front of
[1:11] the fountain. Uh and that's from 11:00
[1:13] a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December
[1:16] 17th. Our only Dina resident, Amber Ko,
[1:19] is organizing it. And earlier this fall,
[1:22] after the tragic incident at
[1:23] Annunciation Church and School, she
[1:25] hosted a blood drive in her own driveway
[1:27] to help the community heal. Her
[1:29] neighbors encouraged her to do it again,
[1:31] and I hope many of us will show up to
[1:33] support her and Memorial Blood Centers.
[1:36] Donors are also invited to bring toys
[1:38] for the Ronald McDonald House. This is
[1:40] Jim Hufflin. That's a couple of the
[1:42] things going on in your town this week
[1:43] that are holiday related and also human
[1:46] related with the blood drive. Hope you
[1:47] have a great rest of the week. That's it
[1:49] for Wednesday, December 10th, 2025.
