[0:00] Well, greetings everybody. This is Jim [0:02] Huffland, your Adina mayor, and this is [0:03] the mayor's minute for Wednesday, [0:05] October 29th, 2025. [0:08] This is an exciting time of the year and [0:11] an exciting week for all of us in Adina. [0:13] So, pull out your Halloween costume, [0:16] pull it out a day early, and join us for [0:19] a night of fun at the Adina Fire [0:21] Department's new station number two. [0:23] It's their dedication and open house [0:26] taking place tomorrow, Thursday, October [0:28] 30th. The brand new station is at 4401 [0:32] West 76th Street. Our station dedication [0:35] ceremony will take place from 4 to 4:30 [0:37] p.m. So join me, Fire Chief Andrew [0:40] Slamma, and Scott Neil as we celebrate [0:43] this important milestone. It's a [0:45] beautiful, beautiful building. And [0:47] instead of cutting a ribbon, we'll mark [0:49] the opening of this facility the [0:50] firefighter way by uncoupling a fire [0:54] hose. After the ceremony, stick around [0:56] for the open house from 4:30 to 8:00 [0:58] p.m. at the new fire station. Families [1:01] are going to be able to trickor treat [1:02] throughout the new station. Meet Sparky, [1:04] our mascot, and our paramedic [1:06] firefighters that do such a great job in [1:08] our town. Enjoy a free hot dog. Jump [1:11] around in an inflatable. Take a [1:13] self-guided tour. Watch live [1:15] demonstrations. Spray a fire hose and [1:17] color to your heart's content at the [1:19] Atlanta Arts Center Station. A live fire [1:22] demonstration will be held at 5:30 p.m. [1:24] and a kitchen fire demonstration will be [1:26] held at 5,6 and 7 p.m. Visitors will be [1:30] able to meet with the Adina Public [1:32] Health Division which is also [1:33] headquarters there. Adina police [1:35] officers, 911 dispatchers, members of [1:37] Minnesota task force and community [1:39] partners. This station belongs to [1:42] everybody in Adina. It's the people's [1:44] fire station. It's a place built for [1:46] service, for learning, and for [1:48] connection to people. I hope to see you [1:50] there.
