[0:08] everything that they have accomplished

[0:09] here at the high school cake Day was

[0:12] started 15 years ago we decided it would

[0:14] be a great opportunity for us to really

[0:17] celebrate May 1st as a decision day with

[0:20] our Edina community

[0:26] my name is Pedro Pacheco i'm going to

[0:28] Marquette University i'm Bridget Roberts

[0:31] i'm going to enlist in the US Navy next

[0:34] year my name is Natalie Mosakowski and I

[0:36] will be going to Harvard University to

[0:38] study chemistry my name is Kevin Ibeck

[0:40] i'm going to the University of

[0:42] Pittsburgh adina High School prepared me

[0:44] for college by helping me make

[0:46] connections a lot easier and making me

[0:48] lifelong friends idana has helped me get

[0:52] in touch with different resources like

[0:54] my recruiter who I'm currently talking

[0:55] to um for like next steps it has taught

[0:58] me how to advocate for myself and has

[1:00] helped me explore my interests and

[1:03] without going to school here I don't

[1:04] know if I would have chosen the major I

[1:07] did and I'm just so grateful for my time

[1:09] here the faculty are super supportive of

[1:12] every step in your college process and

[1:14] your high school career and they want

[1:16] you to push as far as you can and

[1:18] succeed all of your goals adina has been

[1:20] very helpful uh because I find the

[1:23] classes here very rigorous and I know um

[1:25] that'll be very helpful when I get to

[1:27] college and I think the availability of

[1:30] rigorous class coursework um and the

[1:34] amazing counselors that kind of help get

[1:36] you in the right uh right courses and

[1:37] the right classes with the right

[1:39] schedule um have really helped me be

[1:41] able to uh go to the school that I

[1:43] wanted to my name is Almas Brash and I'm

[1:46] going to Howard University in Washington

[1:48] DC hi my name is Zoya Hassan and I'm

[1:50] going to Duke University my name is Noah

[1:52] Fry i'm going to the University of

[1:54] Wisconsin Madison i'm Molly Bennett i

[1:56] committed to run track at Boston

[1:58] University edana has been great for me

[2:00] because it's put me in contact with some

[2:03] pretty wonderful teachers and fellow

[2:06] classmates who have been just as

[2:07] passionate about learning um I think

[2:09] I've really been able to develop my

[2:11] leadership because of all the different

[2:12] opportunities that I've had um you can

[2:14] also take so many different classes so

[2:16] many different APs that it really helps

[2:18] you to know um what you want to get

[2:19] involved in by providing me with some

[2:22] great counselors and teachers i'd really

[2:25] personally like to thank Miss Dunner who

[2:27] introduced me to H.B.CU's and I've had

[2:30] her like almost all of high school and

[2:32] she was one of my first black teachers

[2:34] and she really made a difference in my

[2:35] education giving me a ton of

[2:37] opportunities to discover what I'm

[2:38] interested in like there's a bunch of

[2:40] different clubs that you can join that

[2:41] if you're interested in and they've also

[2:43] given me some amazing amazing coaching

[2:45] staff that has helped me become the

[2:47] athlete I am today edina has created a

[2:50] culture

[2:51] in really pushing people to succeed in a

[2:56] way that I might not have gotten at home

[2:59] edina has like so many different types

[3:01] of people and with all like the clubs

[3:04] like sports music activities everything

[3:07] at Edina has like that excellence level

[3:09] and I think being a part of that has

[3:11] allowed me to like grow and meet so many

[3:13] different types of people adina is known

[3:15] for being like pretty like um on top on

[3:18] helping you getting to where you want to

[3:20] go um helping you catch up on your

[3:23] classes and also like helps you with

[3:25] almost everything for me Edina has been

[3:28] really supportive um throughout

[3:30] elementary middle school and high school

[3:32] um I think Edina is something special

[3:34] that you can't find anywhere in the

[3:35] metro especially hi my name is Eningga

[3:38] Kunzie Williams i'm attending the George

[3:40] Washington University in Washington DC

[3:44] hi my name is Sabrina Azi and the school

[3:46] I'm going to is U of M Duth edina helped

[3:49] prepare me for college by allowing me to

[3:54] become a balanced person within

[3:56] academics arts and having a good social

[3:59] life as well um Adana provides um a lot

[4:02] of support for example like AVID the

[4:05] counselors and they're just always there

[4:07] for their students great athletics and

[4:09] then they offer a ton of classes here i

[4:12] mean it's a nationally known school so I

[4:13] think it's helped me a lot and it's

[4:15] given me all the opportunities and

[4:16] resources that I needed to go to Boston

[4:18] College um giving me a rigorous academic

[4:22] um experience to help me kind of prepare

[4:24] for that next step in college which is

[4:26] going to be a big jump but it kind of

[4:29] helped prep prepare me for it um and

[4:31] they have provided me with the resources

[4:33] that have made me uh academically

[4:36] competent uh to go to a good school like

[4:38] Wisconsin um and I hope to use the

[4:41] skills I learned at Edina uh in my

[4:43] university edina has really helped me um

[4:46] I take a lot of AP classes so those are

[4:48] going to be helpful in the fall and I

[4:50] just love my learning community as well

[4:52] the academics here are fantastic all my

[4:54] teachers have been great super

[4:56] supportive um really kind people and so

[5:00] they've supported me throughout the

[5:01] years definitely just the teaching and

[5:03] the opportunities that I've had have

[5:04] helped me uh prepare for this next step

[5:06] in my life and I'm very thankful for all

[5:07] the teachers here all my teachers have

[5:10] always been incredibly supportive and I

[5:12] feel like I've really been able to go

[5:14] outside my comfort zone

[5:16] and grow more than I expected to over my

[5:20] years at Edina High School it's strong

[5:23] academics uh it's great teachers and

[5:25] staff that help you very individually uh

[5:27] and it's it's work for each individual

[5:30] um that helps everybody meet their goals

[5:32] i had a lot of support from counselors

[5:34] and my teachers especially my AVID

[5:36] teachers here at Edina High School with

[5:38] their support I could have not gone to

[5:41] this college and it's something that I

[5:43] will always be grateful for exposing me

[5:45] to a lot of different experiences i've

[5:48] also had a really great support system

[5:49] here and I've been able to study and do

[5:51] all the things that I want so I'm really

[5:53] thankful i had no idea what journalism

[5:55] was I guess before I came to Adina and I

[5:58] feel like I don't know the publicity for

[6:00] all the activities that they have just

[6:02] really makes you want to join and

[6:03] explore what you like um and so I think

[6:05] I'm really grateful for Adina for

[6:07] helping me find what I like edina High

[6:09] School has helped me so much through

[6:10] college possible and other opportunities

[6:13] with counseling and I'm just very lucky

[6:16] to have this opportunity there's just so

[6:18] much like breadth and depth of

[6:20] activities and academics there's a lot

[6:22] of challenging classes you can take

[6:23] there's so many opportunities for

[6:25] students to take leadership and actually

[6:27] have a community impact so I think

[6:29] having all of these like different

[6:30] resources at Udana has been super

[6:32] beneficial um for me in helping me sort

[6:35] of grow as a person and get where I

[6:37] needed to be for college
