Administration presented findings from an RFP process for managing bond proceeds from referendum projects. Two firms, Allers and PTMA, were evaluated based on experience, investment strategy, reporting, and fees. Allers was recommended due to significantly lower flat fees ($32,000 vs. $123,000 estimate), despite PTMA offering slightly higher projected yields. The decision also considered the district's investment policy preference for lower risk and the certainty of fees versus variable yields, along with strategic planning for Phase 2 bonds.
Notable Quotes (2)
your investment policy really does ask that the administration look more toward um lower risk options for the stability of the funds. I mean, certainly that's something that can be explored by the board as we think long-term around what that might look like. Um but in application of that work as well as the consideration of those fees, that really was the deciding factor...
Allers offers a flat fee of four basis points on all of the investments... Looking at PTMA, it's a sliding scale... So, from a fee structure, the estimate is 123,000 compared to 32,000. So, that is kind of one of the main deciding factors administration was looking at is for the fee structure.
