[0:36] Each of the three districts send forth [0:38] two tributes to compete in the games. [0:40] They're competing to see who can make [0:42] the biggest social impact. And now, [0:45] without further ado, let's welcome our [0:46] senior district tributes. [0:50] So, seniors, [0:52] what are your names and what are the [0:53] causes you're going to be fighting for [0:54] today? [0:55] >> I'm Bergen. [0:56] >> And I'm Ava. And we're fighting to [0:58] reduce the plastic in our environment. [0:59] Very good. Very good. So, are you ready [1:01] and prepared to play for these legacy [1:04] games? [1:04] >> We are very prepared. We've seen this [1:07] competition a few times. And besides, [1:09] we've already been preparing for this [1:11] week. [1:11] >> That is really impressive. So, for the [1:13] viewing audience, what exactly is an eco [1:16] brick? [1:17] >> Well, in the fall, we ran a service [1:19] project where we collected plastic and [1:20] made these eco bricks. We plan to make [1:22] more of our service project after school [1:24] on Wednesday. Eco bricks are plastic [1:26] bottles like this that are packed full [1:29] of other plastics. That way we can [1:31] reduce the spread of plastic pollution [1:33] and maybe even repurpose the bricks for [1:36] construction. [1:37] >> Well, there you have it. [1:55] Our district's overall goal is improving [1:57] health and wellness in our community. [1:59] This year we are focusing on supporting [2:01] senior citizens. [2:02] >> Wow, what a great way to give back to [2:04] your community and make a difference. [2:06] You sure sound like real contenders. So [2:08] tell me, why are the Legacy Games so [2:10] special to you? [2:11] >> Well, really, I think it comes down to [2:13] connections. Not only does each district [2:15] get to connect with the larger community [2:16] through our projects, but we also get to [2:18] connect better with the school. [2:20] >> Excellent work. Yeah, just like Payton [2:22] said, through the legacy games, we [2:23] really get closer with the school. For [2:25] example, we get to see so many people at [2:27] our legacy table during lunches. [3:16] How do you plan to make a difference in [3:18] this year's Legacy Games? [3:20] >> Well, we are focusing on addressing [3:22] housing insecurity. [3:23] >> We are partnering with two nonprofits [3:25] called Move Forward and Bridging, [3:26] creating snack kits for youth who are [3:28] homeless and welcome kits for families [3:30] moving into transitional housing. [3:32] >> Sounds like a great plan. Is there [3:33] anything else you want to say to the [3:35] rest of the underassman district? [3:38] >> We're going to try to win. [3:39] >> And try you will.
