So the reason I'm bringing that up is because typically that's what was done in the past. Um we took a few years and I think it's been what eight years now since we had since there's been an increase. Um, and we felt really uncomfortable during cost containment. Absolutely. It felt really like not the right thing to do. Um, we're not in cost containment anymore. Um, I still have my opinion on having an increase, but if we were to do an increase, I would recommend no higher than the 2.74 that was um that's associated with the um the increase on formula.

I agree um Sheila I think that's a good idea. I think, you know, this something I really reflected on a lot. Um, there are a lot of people out there who can't afford to hold public office because they have to work a second job in the evening or they have to work a third job in the evening. And so, by raising the stipend or the compensation, you're able to, you know, make the office more inclusive and accessible to folks who, you know, aren't independently well off or married to someone who's independently well off.

So I am going to read Robert's rules first and there are new Robert's rules and there are old Roberts rules. So new Robert's rules app or say a a board member may speak on any item only after being recognized by the chair. So we have had many many meetings where no I I I personally I'm okay with that people debating and you know saying things but there were there have been occasions when board members have jumped in and did not be recognized they have started speaking and that is that is number one number rule. So just wanted to make everybody aware of that if you want to speak you raise your hand the chair recognize you and then you speak that's the Robert debate must stay focused on the motion being considered that's a Robert's rule also makes common sense right it's logical

So MSBA I have this document that literally is called nothing could possibly go wrong at our meeting again at our meeting tonight. I think again and it's written by Katie Clandrude and one of the basic principles of Robert's rules of order is an over or under dedication to Robert's rules can be disastrous. Most importantly, board members need to agree as to what rules of order they'll use. So if we have a top I feel like if we have a topic that needs digging into or you know as big as changing the high school model for example we we're going to have topics that are that big. I would say let the questions roll. We we need to ask as many questions as possible.
