## Wayzata Speech State Champion
Wayzata Public Schools is proud to celebrate Wayzata High School senior Cassidy Nabedrick for an incredible
achievement. Cassidy was recently named the State Champion in storytelling. She is only the second state
champion in the history of our speech program and the first ever to win in the storytelling category.
Cassidy’s win is a perfect end to her four-year career. Her dedication to the program is clear through her many
accomplishments:
•She advanced to the State Tournament four times and reached the finals twice.
•She is a three-time section champion, one of only four Wayzata Public Schools students to ever reach
that milestone.
•She placed in the top 60 at the National Tournament for two years in a row.
•She has competed in the fifth-most speech rounds in our school's history.
Please join us in congratulating Cassidy on this historic state championship!

## 2026 Scholastic Art Winners
Wayzata Public Schools is proud to recognize our talented artists from Wayzata High School for their success
in the 2026 Scholastic Art Awards. This year, judges reviewed roughly 3,500 entries from across Minnesota.
They looked for originality, skill and personal vision. Only about one-third of these entries receive an award.
We are thrilled to celebrate two exceptional national-level achievements amongst the winners: The American
Vision Award, which was granted to only five students nationwide; and the National Gold Key Award.
We congratulate each of these students and their instructors on these prestigious honors!

## 2025-26 School Year
## Financial Report Analysis
For the Month Ended March 31, 2026
## Statement of Revenues Analysis
## T
his analysis reflects revenue received by the month end noted above. These numbers are only representative of nine fiscal months
of the FY 2025-26. State Aid revenues are right in line with prior years. Property Taxes are also in line with expectations for this
time of year. Deviations in revenue from prior years include Federal Aids and Miscellaneous Local Revenue which can vary year to
year and are also impacted by FY25 accrued revenues as draws are completed. As a reminder, Federal funds are drawn after the
expenditures take place which can happen after the fiscal year closes. The district still had a very small portion of CARES Act
dollars to spend down by 9/30/2024 and draw by December 2024. The Food Service and Community Education revenue is also in
line with expectations for this time of year.
## Statement of Expenditures Analysis
This analysis reflects actual expenditures and does not include outstanding encumbrances along with representing of nine fiscal
month of the FY 2025-26. Overall expenditures are relatively similar to prior years. Salaries are right in line with prior years shown
and benefits are slightly up from prior years percentages but still in line with expectations and budget planning. As is usually
a
lways the case , variations compared to prior years are primarily driven by the timing of payments, timing of projects, timing of
purchases of supplies, materials, and capital expenditures along with the timing of payments for purchased services. The Food
Service fund expenditures are down slightly due to larger projects at the High School being budgeted for but not completed at this
time. Community Education is right in line with expectations. The district revised its budget in April this year, which will be
reflected on the next monthly financial statements.

## AGENDA ITEM: Approval of Transportation Contract - Lake County
## Transportation (LCT), MainLine Transportation (MTI) and Type III
Van Service To and From Transportation - (LCT & CST).
## COMMENTS BY: Trevor Peterson, Executive Director of Finance and Operations
## Background:
Following a comprehensive Request for Proposal (RFP) process initiated on Mar 19, 2026, the
District administration recommends awarding the primary contract for Regular Education
transportation to Lake Country Transportation (LCT). This selection is based on LCT’s capacity
to support the District’s daily routes with a dedicated fleet of 122 vehicles and a highly
competitive driver pay structure ($27.50–$32.50/hr) aimed at ensuring service reliability and
staffing stability. The current cost of transportation is $7,416,475.20. This will be an increase of
1.48% (2026-27) & 4.5% (2027-28). The district also reserves the right to renew this contract
for an additional two (2) years.

MainLine Transportation (MTI) is recommended for specialized transportation services. MTI is a
locally owned, second-generation family business with over 54 years of service that has focused
its resources exclusively on Wayzata Public Schools to better manage industry staffing
challenges. This long-standing partnership ensures dedicated oversight for the District's special
education programs. The current cost of transportation is $6,771,598. This will be an increase of
3.0% (2026-27) & 3.0 (2027-28). The district also reserves the right to renew this contract for
an additional two (2) years.
