Notable Quotes (5)
I am just wondering if... there was any discussion at agenda setting about item number two, the collective bargaining agreement with uh the the Minneapolis Professionals uh Employees Association MPEA MPEA. Um and you know, this is a um this this uh agreement is uh several months into has been expired for for quite a bit of time now. Um and I I know that we've received letters and things like that from from the parties and so it just would be helpful to know um how resolution was achieved and just some high-level economic terms that that changed.
I did have more information in front of me when we went through agenda setting. I don't see any right now. Um I mean it was just the points of the agreement though it wasn't a discussion on how it came to be.
I'm fine with us calling the roll on it and continuing the item, and perhaps um you and I can check in offline, and then me and Council Member Stevenson can do the same, and and we'll we can go from there.
Currently, appointed members to city advisory committees, boards, and commissions are required to complete initial ethics education training within 6 months of their appointment, and then refresher training every 4 years. Um but currently, our advisory committees, um boards, and commissions have varying terms. The most common is 2 years. So, the objectives with this amendment is to align um the initial and refresher training with appointment and reappointment. So, we currently um do that by amending three different sections. So, if approved, appointed members of bodies would be required to complete ethics at education training within 90 days of being appointed or reappointed to a body.
I just I just I want to say probably a note of thank you both to Q here, ethics officer and then in our clerk's office for offering this and moving this forward and and a brief thank you for our own ethics training that the majority of of my council colleagues did last week... I know all of this moves us forward and and ensuring that we have a standard of of ethics at the at the highest across all bodies of government.
