Minneapolis’ Traffic Safety Camera Pilot enhances neighborhood safety and moves the city closer to our Vision Zero goal of zero traffic deaths and serious injuries.

Cameras are currently located at five, high-risk intersections throughout the city.

When a violation is detected, the camera takes a picture of the rear license plate, not the driver, along with a short video.

Minneapolis Traffic Control Agents then carefully review the footage and verify the violation before taking any enforcement action.

For all first-time violations, the City will issue warnings.
