[0:00] We are not asking [0:01] ICE not to do ICE things. [0:03] We are asking this federal government [0:05] to stop the unconstitutional conduct [0:08] that is invading our streets. [0:09] What you see is people being [0:11] indiscriminately taken off our streets. [0:13] DHS agents have arrested [0:15] peaceful bystanders. [0:16] They have detained law abiding citizens, [0:18] leaving them handcuffed for hours [0:20] just because of the color of their skin [0:22] or what they're wearing. [0:23] They have fired chemical irritants [0:24] at people obeying [0:26] lawful orders [0:26] while exercising [0:27] their First Amendment rights. [0:29] These poorly trained, [0:30] aggressive and armed [0:30] agents have terrorized Minnesota [0:32] with widespread unlawful conduct. [0:34] The stated reason is not safety. [0:36] If it were safety, [0:37] there would be other mechanisms [0:39] to achieve safety. [0:40] If this were about fraud, [0:42] then you'd see an invasion, [0:43] perhaps, of accountants. [0:44] If the goal was to look for people [0:47] that are undocumented, [0:48] Minneapolis and Saint [0:49] Paul would not be the place [0:51] where you would go. [0:52] There are countless [0:52] more people [0:53] that are undocumented [0:55] in Florida, Texas, and Utah. [0:57] Schools have closed. [0:58] People are afraid to go to work, [1:00] shop, or seek medical care. [1:01] 911 calls are up. [1:03] Schools have gone on to lockdown. [1:05] Entire districts [1:06] have had to cancel school [1:08] to ensure safety. [1:09] This surge has made us less safe. [1:11] As local officials, [1:12] we have a responsibility to act. [1:14] DHS is not above the law, [1:16] and the people of Minnesota [1:17] are certainly not beneath it. [1:19] You are a vital part of our city. [1:21] As long as federal agents [1:22] are in our city acting [1:24] unconstitutionally against our neighbors, [1:26] we will continue to push [1:28] back with everything we got.
