this is one piece of our overall budget related to Habitat restoration because we do within our Natural Resources Division we have an operating budget and we have funds identified in there for maintenance activities and restoration activities plus we have a lot of you know obviously you're familiar with the volunteer resources we have...

so we completed a a survey of the the roadways and then uh front yards at least of what the the contractor could see of all of the all the trees in in the city and so we they what they could calculate was that or estimate that there was about 60,000 ash trees along the roadways and in people's front yards...

the goal is an overall canopy increase it's to maintain and have a resilient canopy meaning if we have future disturbance storms another EA another another Emerald ashbo like insect or event that we have a forest that can withstand that we have you know a variety of species a variety of age classes and we're not just wiping out the whole community at once it's so like out west where the that Pine thing hit...

ensure that the number of trees being planted in the community forestry program is greater than the number of trees being removed over a rolling average...

I had never thought about the fact that I should be pruning all my trees every 10 years and I'm worried about that... so some it maybe some City training on what the hell I some of the trees are big I don't want to be climbing up in there with a harness or is I would suggest don't do that there there is rental equipment as well...

I mean it's it's really thorough you got tons of goals my question is just an overarching question is Staffing wise how do you accomplish all of this that's a good question um and and we do a lot now um and so this I think would be kind of similar to the Natural Resources master plan I if you remember me saying this this one this plan is really about prioritizing where we're putting our efforts and making sure what we're doing we're doing the right things...
