The Minnetonka Planning Commission granted a conditional use permit on August 20, 2026, for a new 956-square-foot detached accessory dwelling unit (ADU) at 1617 Linner Road. The proposed project, brought forward by applicant Brent Nelson of PKA Architecture, is set to replace an existing garage and will feature significant landscaping, including 50 trees and 785 perennials.
The application outlined a design that adheres to the city’s R-1 zoning requirements, specifically meeting constraints for both height and size. City staff had recommended approval of the permit, citing the project’s compliance with local ordinances.
