all right um I'm going to call a meeting to order and this is the uh regular city council meeting for the city of L Trista January 22nd 2022 first order of business just a reminder if you have cell phones please put them on airpl mode or in silent so they don't disrupt our meeting and second would you please join me in pledge to the of the United States of America and to the Republic for it stands one nation God indivisible with liy and justice for all so welcome everyone and we have a special student here this evening sitting in so welcome let's see what was your name again Jonas Jonas thank you welcome Jon um with that um I'll make introductions I'm Lisa I'm the mayor and to my El we have council members Peter Dickory Claudia Lacy and Brian govern kathen Rin is absent this evening and then we have Gary Peters who is our Public Works superintendent and um Al PA who is our assistant administrator and then to my right we have administrator Jasper kou GM our finance director David able our community development director and then Joe okay all right there you go sitting in for Sarah this evening our attorney and then we have our chief of police Paul Paul so with that um next order is approval of the agenda are there any changes or additions hearing none then is there a motion to approve the agenda as presented thank you Miss Lacy is there a second second thank you Mr govern all those any questions none all those in favor signify with supposed motion passes 40 so we don't have anybody under person to be heard and we have no special presentation so we'll move on to consent agenda items are there any you wish to remove okay with none then we have consent agenda items number one is approve our city council regular meeting minutes from January 6 2025 V is a resolution to claims C is a resolution to approve the WSB task order number five for GIS services and D is approve our purchas of police and building inspection vehicle is there a motion to approve consent agenda items a through D so move thank you Mr Governor there second second thank you Miss Lacy any further questions hearing none all those in favor signify with i i i all those opposed motion passes 40 we have no public hearings this evening um I want to only business item is to appoint uh planning and parts Commissioners as you know during our work session we did make have a few interviews and our final decision if you will I'll we it off here so Jeff ryer is um had applied for a reappointment Carissa Garing is applying for the parks she would be a new commissioner the alternates would be Ashley Yik and Lindsay Jameson for planning Damen young has reapplied for appointment and Lindsay Jameson would be a new planning commissioner and the alternate would be um our new alternate would beiss hearing on plan we all okay with that I just have a question yeah we have a attendance records for all the we do yeah and we can get those St if you want I mean not tonight but okay thanks I guess doesn't no but it's good to know but I I think there so our requirement is at least 70% I believe we kind of have an unofficial requirement that they attend 70% of the meetings correct I mean there there is some language in ordinance but um I I think unofficial is probably the correct term have the Commissioners that are met that yes oh yes these ones yes yes question all right so is there a motion as I read them off or do you want me to read the okay thank you Mr is there a second thank you Miss Lacy any other questions very none all those in favor signify with i i propos motion passive so actually those are that is our business items so we'll move on to staff reports um Madame mayor I have no staff reports at this time okay um any other staff reports I will be the lays on to the U Planning Commission next Monday night and we'll be swearing in the um reappointed Daman young and then the new appointees um as we discussed here this evening and I think there's um the Cannabis ordinance will be on that agenda as well as a variance so it'll be a full interesting discussion um just kind of FYI for everybody uh so we had a meeting scheduled with us our newly elected uh state senator um and Johnson Stewart I unfortunately was Ill that day was not able to attend but she did meet with Jasper and it's always good to have a good working relationship with her representatives and uh what we're really interested in is them promoting one a bonding Bill and two putting us on that um bonding Bill and tour so if that happens uh they are fully um on board with that and then today today we had a meeting with um Andrew Myers who is our newly reelected um represent house representative and he is again on board with trying to uh promote and support us in that endeavor as well so we will be work continue working on that um coming up a couple of things oh we also attended the fire partnership meeting on Tuesday afternoon and we're moving forward there's uh forming two subcommittees one is going to be looking at language for a jpa a joint Powers agreement and then the other subcommittee is looking at potential formulas and financing of of a a jpa and um I volunteer to be on the finance and Kathleen volunteered to be on the um jpa um wording or whatever developing that and Jasper is going to be in both so he's going to be busy so um we're hoping to have that kind of wrapped up by about the middle of March and we're hoping to move forward having um a lot of there's a lot of steps and a lot of other things going on um that the Chiefs have to do organizational wise and and refining um budgets and so on and that we're hoping to have all of that done by the June July time frame and we'll keep you posted um any questions on the fire partnership okay and um and then also uh I will be attending so as you know maybe have heard in the news and seen that mayor Marvin Johnson in Independence he was the mayor for 45 years or on the council for 40 mayor for 44 45 years he's retiring in his retirement open hous is um January 30th and I will be going to that representing not only the city but also thanking him for his many years of service on a personal house so as he's been a great asset to not only his community but to others other communi as well and um other than that I can't think of it I'll note an Johnson Stewart will be here for a water treatment plant tour um with Gary myself and Aaron um when is that next Monday next Monday Monday 27th so she yeah so she want me to partipate if you want to be there you can she's a civil engineer she's got some background in in some of these things so she's just curious about what we have um this is a newer plant so if you want to be there we can we can add you I'll I'll I think it would be polite if I was there so I'll I'll um I'll do another I won't talk so much 1 o00 11 11 o' okay I can do that any other okay then well we can be a Jour motion A J so move thank you Miss Lacy
