Award of 2026 Sewer Televising Project

City Engineer Matt Bowman presented the annual sewer televising project, which involves cleaning and inspecting sewer sections to ensure proper function. American Environmental LLC submitted the lowest of four quotes. The project will focus on the 110 area, Dutch Lake area, and Tonka Wood area.

City Engineer Matt Bowman presented the CIP E3 area sewer lining project, targeting Emerald Lane and Avon Park, where significant inflow and infiltration occur during heavy rains. The project utilizes a cured-in-place pipe method to seal existing pipes and extend their lifespan. Vizu Sewer was the lowest of five bidders, with their bid 26% below the engineer's estimate.

So annually the city staff public works goes around and they clean a section of sewer and then uh they we get quotes for doing the televising because the firms that do that are much quicker and a little more organized uh than city staff and helps spread the the work out.
So that actually is it's a sewer lining project. And so the area itself is kind of around Emerald Lane um Avon Park and so that is one of the areas that uh has a significant amount of inflow and infiltration whenever we get big rains.
