Sarah Smith, Community Development Director, presented the City of Mound's request to vacate an easement at 1604 Dove Lane due to the removal of a municipal sanitary sewer lift station. She explained the process, noting that while state statute doesn't require Planning Commission review, it is standard practice in Mound. Public notices were issued, and no objections were received from reviewing agencies. The property owner, Beth Luther, confirmed that the abandoned underground equipment was sealed. The commission discussed the standard practice of leaving sealed equipment and the property owner's plans to complete fencing. The item was recommended for approval to the City Council.

there's a massive huge tank underground. They filled it with cement and then they blew sand in through the pipe that goes out to the to the manhole in the the street and they ripped up the whole street last year and put all new sewer in down to the new station.
Staff recommends the planning commission recommends city council approval of sanitary sewer/lift station easement vacation located in the northwest corner of property 1604 of Dove Lane subject to two conditions and one finding further discussion.
