Today I'm here  at Candlelight Floral and today's show features   [0:25] an interview with the owner Lesa of Candlelight  Floral. We'll be talking to Becky from the Wayzata   [0:30] Chamber and we'll be also speaking to Dr Brost  from the Brost Clinic. So let's get to it! Hey I'm   [0:37] here in Wayzata today at Candlelight Floral. Been  here for over 60 years I'm here with Lesa Fenwick   [0:42] the owner and resident of Wayzata of Candlelight  Floral. Can you tell us a little bit about your   [0:48] business? Candlelight Floral was started in 1963  by another couple that lived here in town and   [0:57] my husband and I are the third generation owners  and we moved to town 8 years ago. So can you tell   [1:03] me a little bit more about what it's like to  be a chamber member a resident and a business   [1:08] owner because you're in a kind of an elite club  here. Yeah it's really one of the coolest things   [1:13] about being able to live in the community that  you serve is um it's so rewarding because when   [1:20] we're not at work I'm eating at the restaurants  I'm shopping at the stores I'm volunteering at   [1:26] Chamber events. We've been Chamber members now for  almost 50 years I think and my husband is now on   [1:33] the Chamber board and has been for a couple years  now. We are both my husband and I both are really   [1:37] into volunteerism and charity and being able  to serve the community that we live and work   [1:43] in is just like that's awesome. So cool. What's  your favorite thing about uh being a florist I   [1:49] mean it's got to be neat to be involved in all the  special parts of people's lives. It is yeah we're   [1:53] here for the good times the sad times um for me  I actually enjoy funeral work the most it's the   [2:00] most rewarding um I have the deepest connections  with my clients um I get the most I get so many   [2:06] hugs you know and thank you notes. Every day is a  different day. So while we may be doing the same   [2:13] things it's a different reason different instance  Um every day is kind of a surprise. What's it   [2:20] like being a a woman-owned business I mean here  in Wayzata and just in general? Well Wayzata is   [2:27] a very supportive community and that is one thing  that has like kept us here as long as we have been   [2:32] here and that's because the people the community  want to shop local. They want to support the small   [2:38] business. They want you know anything that they  can buy here in town and not have to go to the   [2:43] surrounding communities like they're going to do  it. I started here when I was 20 years old bought   [2:48] the store at 25 And so um while my husband and I  have owned it now for 10 years I've been here for   [2:54] 15 years…
