[0:06] hey everybody it's Jeff Daw um city
[0:09] manager uh just me today sorry you only
[0:11] get one uh mayor is out sick and uh it's
[0:15] kind of one of those other duties as
[0:16] assigned today um lot of stuff going on
[0:19] so I'm going to give just give you a
[0:21] recap of uh what to look forward to
[0:23] throughout the summer july 4th
[0:25] activities uh our new ebike ordinance
[0:28] night to unite uh coming up in August so
[0:31] a lot going on in Weisetta this summer
[0:32] okay well one of the things that our
[0:34] police department has taken the
[0:35] initiative on uh this summer is having
[0:38] more uh regulations and the ability to
[0:41] educate about safety of ebikes ebikes is
[0:44] a phenomenon uh we love them it's clean
[0:46] and good way of getting around but there
[0:48] are some safety hazards so the city uh
[0:52] this earlier this year enacted a new
[0:54] ordinance that uh mandates uh anyone
[0:57] under the age of 18 wear helmets it's a
[1:00] great way to not only enforce uh the
[1:03] rules making sure uh ebike ebikes are
[1:06] being used appropriately but also uh to
[1:08] educate best practices and keep
[1:10] everybody safe so um just so you know
[1:13] our our our police officers are paying
[1:15] attention to that and we've already see
[1:17] some great progress and uh uh folks that
[1:20] are using ebikes following the rules and
[1:22] as a reminder whether you're on an ebike
[1:24] on some other form of transportation if
[1:27] you're on our trails please be mindful
[1:29] of others wise is very busy in the
[1:31] summer a lot of people walking around um
[1:34] so just be careful be slow especially
[1:37] when you're going through Lake Street uh
[1:38] as there's just a lot of people well one
[1:41] of the my personal favorite times of the
[1:44] year is uh Night toite this year Night
[1:46] toite will be on August 5th it's a great
[1:49] opportunity for folks to get to know uh
[1:52] city officials especially all of our
[1:54] public safety professionals who are
[1:56] really out to serve you and keep you
[1:57] safe um so if you're a neighborhood and

[2:39] uh the city of Roseville for several
[2:41] decades uh on June June 1st uh Chief
[2:45] Baker was promoted to the chief of

[3:49] activities in town is the uh the not the
[3:52] infamous but the famous uh flying cake
[3:55] breakfast that the uh National Society
[3:58] of Children of the American Revolution
[4:00] Lake Minnotonka chapter puts on it's
[4:03] from 800 a.m to uh noon uh down at the
[4:07] depot if you haven't been there it's
[4:09] incredible um it's a free will offering
[4:12] so there's no like specific fee the
[4:14] donations are uh suggested uh but they
[4:17] throw the pancakes at you they're really
[4:19] good it's a great way to come out and
[4:21] see the community it all goes for a good
[4:23] cause as well so come out to the depot
[4:25] on the 4th in addition on the 4th we
[4:28] have our fire department who will will
[4:30] be putting on the uh mini Olympics and
[4:33] then the kitty parade as well last
[4:35] couple years it's been rainy so we're
[4:36] hoping for good weather this year so
[4:38] more specifically the Kitty Parade at
[4:40] 10:00 a.m it'll take place on the corner
[4:42] of Park Street and Broadway uh please uh
[4:46] parents please accompany your your
[4:48] children out there uh there will it'll
[4:50] be all the the great and fascinating and
[4:53] and big trucks that we have going down
[4:55] the neighborhood area uh in the area of
[4:59] uh Park Street and Broadway in addition
[5:01] to that uh the mini Olympics will be
[5:04] taking place at the West Middle School
[5:07] football field again the fire department

[5:12] starts at 12:30 p.m it includes a
[5:15] softball throw running races running
[5:18] broad jump uh all for uh children four
[5:21] and under um and I will not be
[5:24] participating this year and lastly after
[5:26] nine years of serving this community
[5:28] serving you all I recently accepted an
[5:31] offer to be the city administrator of
[5:33] the city of Woodbury um what does that
[5:36] mean for Weisetta means you won't be
[5:39] seeing my uh face and my silly sometimes
[5:42] stupid jokes uh in addition to that we
[5:45] are putting together a leadership plan
[5:47] to ensure that during this transition of
[5:49] leadership working with the mayor uh and
[5:52] city council that we have the right
[5:54] people on the bus to make sure that all
[5:57] this essential services everything that
[5:59] we do is consistent and there is
[6:01] continuity in those services so stay
[6:03] tuned for more information of how that
[6:05] plays out both in the short term and the
[6:07] long term to replace this position uh
[6:10] but it's been a pleasure and I look
[6:12] forward to uh seeing you before I leave
