A councilperson made an amendment to remove the public hearing for 507 North Main from the agenda. This decision was based on communication with the property owner, who is currently in the process of re-renting the property, thereby eliminating the immediate need for a public hearing.
Purchase of Bobcat 16 Snow Blower for Public Works
Dissent: None
Moved by Unknown [~2:15] · Seconded by Unknown [~2:17]
The Public Works department requested approval to purchase a new Bobcat 16 snow blower from Sand Co. for $6,663.12, utilizing a state contract bid. This acquisition is necessary because the current blower is no longer compatible with the newer T450 machines, causing significant operational issues last winter. The new blower is intended specifically for sidewalk maintenance, and the old unit will be sold as public service surplus.
Rolling Ridge Park Path Extension Consideration
Dissent: None
Moved by Unknown [~3:25] · Seconded by Unknown [~3:26]
The Park Board reviewed and approved a proposal for a new paved path at Rolling Ridge Park. The path will extend from the existing system along the west side of the tree line to 20th Street Northeast, aiming to improve connectivity and access. Preliminary cost estimates were set not to exceed $30,000, with discussion focusing on proceeding with obtaining bids and the city's intent to perform initial groundwork (cutting path, compacting rock) in-house to potentially reduce overall project costs significantly.
Notable Quotes (5)
Yeah, I'd like to make the amendment to remove the public hearing for 507 North Main. I spoke with the property owner and they're in the process of re-renting.
Well, last year we haven't used it that much, but last year we ran into where we needed it and it wasn't compatible with our new machine, so it was a pain in the rear for all of them last year.
This is the small blower that does just the sidewalks.
Proposed path will extend from existing path system along the west side of the tree line to 20th Street Northeast. Providing improved connectivity and access to the park.
I intend on us cutting the path and and compacting the rock and getting ready and when it comes time to doing it, hopefully we have time to do all that and then it's just them blacktopping it. ... So, it should be significantly under that, hopefully.
