Interviews are complete for the position of firefighter and the executive board has delivered 2 offer letters to applicants. The new members will begin their 6 month probationary period on Monday, June 8th, 2026. 3. SFD’s two junior firefighters will conclude their time in the program. They will both have the opportunity to join the department as probationary firefighters along with the new hires. 4. Annual ladder testing has concluded with all ground ladders and Truck 1 passing certification testing. 5. Firecatt will again be conducting our annual hose testing. Last year was the pilot year for hiring this task out and it proved to be very successful. All suppression and supply hose will be tested to NFPA standards, documented, and replaced back on apparatus in a single day. This approach frees up two training nights for our crews to refine skills rather than test hose. 6. We will not be renewing state licenses for a handful of our members this year. These licenses have never been a requirement for eligibility and provide no additional benefit to our membership or citizens.
