Director Gaia presented change order #02 for Roshan Corporation due to unforeseen foundation repairs uncovered after removing old bleachers and code-related work required by marshals (roofing, fireproofing, coiling doors). The total cost of the change order was $193,685.10, deemed fair and reasonable by architects, bringing the total contract to $2,536,230.51.

The district was approached by NSP/Excel Energy for a 40ft x 60ft easement at Tartan High School for gas pipelines and a metering station, offering $3,000. An independent appraisal by Patchkin Messner deemed this fair. Dr. Yenner questioned the low indefinite payment and the district's $1,800 costs for legal counsel and appraisal. Board members discussed countering for more money, but also acknowledged the independent appraisal and the district's non-profit status. An amendment was proposed to approve the easement for $3,000 plus the $1,800 district costs, which passed.

In front of you today are construction change orders uh from Rashan Corporation. So, as you know, um, change orders occur during construction due to code of changes, unforeseen circumstances, district requested changes, and items or work not originally in the bid documents.

Yeah, this one was actually a combination of a few things. One was um some issues that we couldn't catch until the old bleachers were down, foundation repairs. The second was really the code related work. So when the code marshall comes through and looks at the drawings and and wants some additional things um that included the the roofing, fireproofing and the coiling doors. So it's really a combination of those two categories.

Yeah, I had a question, Sarah. Um so when I was reading this, it looks like it's $3,000 to indefinitely provide them with this space that's 60 by 20. And I did note that it says that it's a fair appraisal... So, how much are we spending to allow Excel Energy, who by the way had profits over $2 billion last year to take this piece of property from the district.

I don't know if we felt we had to agree to it. We, you know, they're putting the pipelines in all over Oakdale. It seemed to be a reasonable solution. What we could do is counter the offer. If you, if the district believes that they want to negotiate more money for that easement, that's fine. Otherwise, um, we can turn it down alto together and then they're on their own to find a different location.

You know, one of the things to remember is we're not in the profit making business.
