Approval of Professional Services for 2025 Street and Utility Improvement Project (CP 25-1)
Dissent: None
Moved by Council Member Wong [00:08:58] · Seconded by Council Member Cole [00:09:00]
The City Engineer presented a proposal for professional services from WSB to conduct a feasibility study and preliminary design for the 2025 Street and Utility Improvement Project, which is part of the 2024-2033 Capital Improvement Plan. The project, scheduled for 2025 construction, aims to reconstruct roads in poor condition in the Casey Lake area (Bule, Gerald, Shaunie Avenues). An earlier feasibility study from 2019 needs updating due to project delays and inflation. Sewer lining work under Gerald Avenue was advanced in 2022 due to immediate need. The updated study and cost estimates are expected by September, with detailed design, bidding in early 2025, and construction through November 2025, with minor cleanup in 2026. Staff recommended approval of the proposal.
