[0:00] Hi there. My name is Jordan and I'm here
[0:03] to tell you about something super cool
[0:05] happening at our school. It's called the
[0:08] personal learning plan. From preK all
[0:11] the way through graduation, our personal
[0:13] learning plan is all about you. It helps
[0:16] us understand more about ourselves
[0:18] through lessons about self-discovery,
[0:21] financial literacy, career awareness,
[0:23] and post-secary education. Starting
[0:26] early, we get to explore what we're good
[0:28] at and what we love to do. It's like an
[0:30] adventure where we learn more about
[0:32] ourselves every day. The personal
[0:35] learning plan helps us explore careers
[0:37] with excellent opportunities at every
[0:39] grade level as we grow. Through the high
[0:42] school career pathways program, we can
[0:45] take foundational courses and even more
[0:47] options, including advanced and college
[0:49] credit classes. At the district-wide
[0:52] career pathways program, we get to
[0:54] explore four exciting career fields.
[0:57] Science and medical, innovative and
[0:59] emerging technology, business and
[1:01] communications, and education and human
[1:04] services. These fields open a world of
[1:06] possibilities.
[1:08] With hands-on learning and leadership
[1:10] opportunities in clubs and
[1:12] organizations, we can explore our
[1:14] interests more deeply. Imagine building
[1:17] robots, leading a debate team, or
[1:19] running a school store. High school
[1:22] students can earn industry
[1:24] certifications like certified nursing
[1:26] assistant, Microsoft Excel, and
[1:28] automotive service excellence. How
[1:31] awesome is that? These certifications
[1:33] give us a head start in our careers.
[1:35] Thanks to our strong partnerships with
[1:37] local organizations and businesses, we
[1:40] get realworld learning experiences.
[1:43] We can go on tours, meet professionals,
[1:46] do mock interviews, and even get paid
[1:48] internships. These experiences help us
[1:51] learn about career paths we might want
[1:53] to pursue after high school. And guess
[1:55] what? We even get to decide if we like
[1:57] them or not before making big decisions
[2:00] about our future. The personal learning
[2:02] plan prepares us for realworld careers
[2:05] by giving us practical skills and
[2:07] valuable experience.
[2:09] Whether in science, business,
[2:11] technology, or education, we're ready to
[2:14] take on the world. With the personal
[2:16] learning plan, we're all set to discover
[2:19] who we are and what we want to do in the
[2:21] future. It's all about us from preK
[2:25] through graduation.
[2:27] Join us on this amazing journey and
[2:29] let's make our dreams come true
[2:31] together. To learn more about career
[2:33] pathways, opportunities, and personal
