University of Minnesota Men’s Basketball Coach Niko Medved and Minnesota Cross-Country State Champion and All-American Robert Mechura will serve as grand marshals for the 2025 Rose Parade. Both men grew up in Roseville, graduated from Roseville Area High School, and have accepted the Rose Parade Committee’s invitations to represent their hometown. The pair will lead the parade, which will include nine marching bands with nearly 700 members, and more than 70 participating local businesses and community organizations. The parade starts at 6:15 p.m. on Monday, June 23. The parade route begins at Roseville Area High School and ends at Roseville City Hall. “We are thrilled to be able to celebrate two Roseville High School alums who are achieving athletic success. With Robert heading to college to run cross country and track, and Niko heading back home to coach our beloved Minnesota Gophers, we are proud to honor both of them at the 33rd annual Rose Parade,” said Roseville Assistant Parks Director Carrie Anderson.
