Hi there and welcome to W 2. My name is Rebecca Nre and I'm honored to represent W 2 on the St. Paul City Council. W 2 is one of our city's most dynamic and diverse districts and each of our neighborhoods contributes something unique to the city's identity, economy, and civic life. Here on the west side is a vibrant, resilient, and diverse neighborhood defined by deep cultural roots, tight-knit community, and its unique location. It's the only part of St. Paul. On the west bank of the Mississippi, just across the river is downtown St. Paul, a historic and evolving urban neighborhood rich with cultural institutions, government and civic organizations, and a burgeoning residential population. It's full of green space, riverviews, shops and restaurants, museums, and more. It's also the economic engine of St. Paul and our greatest opportunity for transformation and renewal. Northeast of downtown is Railroad Island, a small historic neighborhood tucked between Payne Failen, Sweet Hollow, and the Capitol area. Railroad Island is a neighborhood with deep working-class roots, a strong sense of identity, and an evolving future shaped by community resilience and grassroots advocacy. The West 7th neighborhood is a vibrant, dynamic corridor where St. Paul's past and future intersect. It's known for its independent spirit, historic charm, and iconic local shops, restaurants, and bars. Summit Hill blends architectural splendor with a strong sense of community and heritage, all within walking distance of beautiful parks and St. Paul's best known shopping district. Together, these neighborhoods represent the best of St. Paul. I'm proud to represent such a vital and diverse part of our city. As your W 2 city council member, it's my job to represent you and to make sure that our ward is safe, welcoming, and affordable. I wake up every day excited to make our ward in St. Paul a better place, where it's easy to find a home or a job. Where it's safe to visit with your friends, family, and neighbors, and where all of our kids can get off to a great start.
