The Assistant Superintendent presented the consolidated 2024-25 school handbooks for elementary, middle, and high school levels. Key changes included clarifications on student attendance procedures (defining late/absent consistently across the district) and updated language regarding cell phone usage at the high school, restricting use during class time unless specifically permitted by a teacher. The board considered and approved the scheduling of a special meeting to canvass the election results for the Capital Projects Levy renewal. The initial proposal was for a 7:00 a.m. meeting on November 13th, but board members discussed the timing, with a consensus emerging to hold the meeting in the evening. A motion was made to change the meeting time to 6:00 p.m. on the same date.

The vast majority of the changes in handbooks this year have to do with student attendance, different procedures we have around taking student attendance, reporting and recording student attendance.
The high school changed some language around cell phone usage... more of a change in the in the verbage... really giving teachers and administrators more of an ability to tell students during class you know what you need to put the phone away and and we need to be focused on what we're we're actually working on right now.
There does need to be a meeting that occurs during a certain period of time... 3 to 10 days after the general election that meeting needs to be held and that's where the results are presented and the school board must take action to approve the canvasing of those results.
But the the people counting the ballots the official poll workers have have done their work by then we're just validating their results.
