Should be a lot of fun and you're all invited. So, every year in April, we start working on the budget. I know [music] that's not exciting for everybody, but this is your money we're talking about. Our budget this [music] year is $26.6 million. That's about $2 million more than [music] it was last year. So, why is budget going up? Well, just like you're dealing with at home, stuff just costs [music] more for us. Most of our budget goes to people. Over 70% [music] pays for the people who keep our city running and their benefits. We're also adding three new positions [music] so we can serve you better. The rest, all the stuff we can't avoid. Things like software licenses, gas for city vehicles, [music] and electricity bills. You know how it is. It all adds up. Okay, so what does this mean for you? The typical home in Savage is worth [music] about $417,700. If that's close to what your home is worth, you'll pay around $145 a month in city [music] property taxes. That covers police and fire protection 247. It also covers our parks and trails, and [music] it keeps our streets in good shape.
