[0:03] Welcome back to the dig where we give [0:05] you all the dirt on the latest [0:06] developments happening in Shockby. Today [0:09] we're in the Arbor Bluff neighborhood [0:10] where the city is stabilizing a stream [0:12] that runs through this woodland area, [0:15] [music] an area where the banks are [0:16] eroding and sending sediment downstream. [0:20] The Arbor Bluff stream stabilization [0:22] project will restore and protect this [0:24] section of stream, helping safeguard [0:27] nearby infrastructure [music] and [0:28] improving water quality by reducing the [0:30] sediment and nutrients that can cloud [0:32] [music] waterways, fill in wetlands, and [0:35] contribute to algae blooms downstream. [0:37] The project will also protect the [0:39] surrounding [music] woodland, which was [0:41] intentionally preserved as part of the [0:43] development. A new [music] wood chip [0:45] trail will be built alongside the [0:46] stream, designed to provide access while [0:49] minimizing impacts to the trees and [0:51] steep slopes, a more natural alternative [0:54] to a traditional paved path. This is the [0:57] first phase of a larger effort to [0:59] maintain the drainage system west of [1:01] County Road 83 and south of Valley View [1:03] Road. And that's the dig.
