continue to go back. You'll see more questions answered on uh also in my report you'll see um that um vice chair chair and I have been working on the schoolboard retreat plan. So in the report um it has the topics that we've talked about and so we intended the retreat to talk about the school perceptions data that we have coming back and the goal setting that would go along with that as we've talked about a number of times school board goals and superintendent goals the budget process and timeline uh referendum planning of course board election discussions that we should have and then any other topics that we think would be so there are topics burning in your reach out to me or say some the retreat is August 14th and we'll hold it as an so that's the planet finally in my report u as you know from the weekly update um we've moved a couple of board meetings around I just want to draw your attention the community's attention September 21st will be our second meeting of the September And then [clears throat] October 5th will be our regular meeting in October 12th. So just so you have those dates out there also on the meeting and with that I'll stand for questions. Okay, we will go into committee reports. First, we have facilities. Director Anderson, I'm sorry, Director Weiss. Sorry. >> Director Anderson was uh in attendance of facilities committee uh today. Um so our July meeting was was this afternoon just reiterating what almost has already mentioned where we had a lot of conversation about the expanded areas of the FAQ. A lot of good information in there. So please people have questions, you know, send them to that website information there questions to bring more in continuing to look at that community outreach plan which will kick off, you know, kind of a little bit in the summer, but really hitting hard as we back to school um to get the information out, educate the community, get the information, all those types of things. So, as you mentioned, we'll talk a little bit more about it at the retreat policy last month. So, our next meeting is today. [clears throat] So, there's been no change since the last meeting. That's all. Thank you. Superintendent evaluation. I'll take that one. So, board members, in last week's update on July 8th, the link was set for the evaluation for the superintendent. Um we also didn't break but um in the most recent AMS update report they did share about some of the new laws that were passed legislation. And um one that they drew attention to was the implementation of using anonymous threat um reporting system. And it's just great to know that for that information. Any questions or comments? >> Okay. Moving on to governance facility and staff. We recommended the school board accept the recommendation of the school board committee to deny the April 6, 2026 agreements on June 22nd, 2026. Operations resolution calling a special meeting. recommended the school board approve the resolution calling a special election to authorize the issuance of school building bonds and to approve a capital project le authorization as attached a motion a second motion has a second I will open up for discussion I'll turn it over to superintendent if you want to give us you you know, um, you operate the referendum back in May. And so that put a put a series of events in place for us to go to our bonding attorney and for elders and associates to give us all of the necessary steps to make sure we're following all the legal processes. So what you have for action tonight is the the culmination of those discussions to say how do we get that our question on the ballot. And so that's what we wereing in this resolution. I wanted to draw your attention to the ballot language that we have listed here on the screen. Again, this is November 3rd. Um, and again, most of us have voted before, so we've seen what this is going to look like, but when it's when it's specific to a school district, sometimes it's helpful to see what's being asked. We are putting uh in this authorization all of the building and facility projects that we talked about into one question. So I think that the idea here is this question really asks for what we think. And so what we have here is the high school building in the learning center that will come with the setting for the ELC building for a total of $350 million. There's some legal ease about the capital projects that's in here as well. So the 5.5 79% times tax capacity of the school district that can get really confusing to voters but it has to be in there because that is the legal description of the capital project. Really at the end of the day that total is $9 million of oper. So the buildings and the operating funds to go with it appear in this question and that's what this authorization is about in the action that's almost just to kind of add to that for our friends in the audience watching home. This is the legal terminology that we need to have. This is required. We are going to explain and break this down all of our meetings and understand how it affects you, how it affects your taxes and what it [clears throat] means in a very simplified term. So just understand that this is illegal terminology, but we will fully explain and break this down over the coming months so that everybody can understand exactly how this would impact their taxes. Um, I just wanted to say I'll be voting no tonight because I referendum, but while I understand this is a procedural vote, language. I don't want to create any confusion about where I stand.
