we're trying to bring uh tourists to the city of cottage growth and we're we're really looking at those overnight stay tourists we want to make sure that we uh present all of the fun things that we have going on here in the city whether it's events or places that people may want to visit and uh get them to come and enjoy uh a really great day or two in our city while they're here they're able to stay at our beautiful properties that we have maybe golf at River Oaks uh eat at our fantastic food V and our Parks and Recreation too we have beautiful trails and things that people can spend the day utilizing and enjoying we have a tremendous parks and trail system and we're only adding to that year after year uh for example last year we added uh glacial Valley Park and if you go to glacial Valley Park you'll find that we have uh some Premier pickle ball courts and pickle ball is a is a game that people are really taking to it's it's getting bigger and bigger every year we also have great outdoor ice arenas we have baseball softball but then we also have some great indoor spaces and I'll mention our Cottage Grove Ice Arena as one of those spaces we host tournaments all year long and bring thousands of kids and their families into the city of Cottage Grove uh the convention of visitors bro is very excited for uh what we believe is going to be a premier destination here in the city of Cottage Grove and that is the new park that's being built down along the Mississippi River it's called Mississippi Dunes Park um for those who may not know the city of Cottage Grove is the largest community in the Metro with access to the river they'll have some fishing peers and docks that they can enjoy uh fire pits we'll have a nice park building down there for people to enjoy it's also adjacent to approximately 400 Acres of uh scientific and natural area where people can just hike and enjoy nature in its natural state but uh if you're a kayaker or a canoer or anything like that um we're really eager to get you down to enjoy the backwaters of the Mississippi and learn a little bit more about Mississippi dunes and the Park area the CBB has a fantastic food truck festival it started 2 years ago and it's just grown Through The Years so the first year we had 25 food trucks and this year we had 40 food trucks with about 8 to 9,000 people there was just a day filled with food fun activities live music and um the our community and visitors are still talking about it today we actually have a few different hidden gems we have a premier disc golf course that uh if you're into that game you definitely want to come and check out we also have the Cottage Grove Bike Park here that is a volunteer Le effort in partnership with the city's Park and Rex Department it's a great course for people who enjoy outdoor cycling BMX those kinds of things what makes Cottage Grove unique really the one thing that I think of all of the the time is our um Treehouse at Hope Glenn there's not many communities that can say we have a treehouse in our community so that's our hidden gym for sure and I know it's one of the attractions once people see it or know about it hear about it um they continue to come back and tell their friends and family about it so if you haven't been there I highly encourage you to check it out so we work very closely with all of our local Partners uh especially our business partners on finding ways to create value for people when they come to our community the CBB does a great job advertising to outside of our community so social media for sure we do um are able to really attract and go um to Great Lengths of attracting people outside of our communities to come here to know about what we have to offer here along with all of our events we also do a fantastic job with our visitors bureau guide that is out there in the community
