Hi everyone, Mayor Myron Bailey here with another mayor's moment. When emergencies happen, whether it's a storm like the one we saw in the summer of 2024, a power outage, or something bigger, it's our neighbors, friends, and volunteers who often make the biggest difference. That's where Cottage Grove's Community Emergency Response Team or CERT comes in. SER volunteers are trained to support our first responders during disasters, help with community events, and make sure our neighborhoods are prepared when the unexpected happens. And right now, we're looking for new volunteers to join the city of Cottage Grove's first ever CIRC training. The program covers everything from basic first aid and search and rescue to fire safety and emergency planning. It's handson, it's practical, and it's a great way to get involved and make a real impact here in Cottage Grove. Cottage Grove Public Safety will use a combination of online independent study, classroom training, and hands-on exercises to train potential C members. We will also go beyond the baseline training and offer C member supplemental training to develop additional skills. Who can be a C member? any Cottage Grove resident who is 18 years of age or older. No prior experience is necessary. We invite you to anformational session on November 13th to learn more. It's completely free and whether you're a lifelong resident or new to the community, this is a fantastic opportunity to step up and be part of the team that helps keep Cottage Grove safe. To learn more or sign up, visit our website. Thank you for watching and thank you to all our future volunteers for the incredible work you do or will do. Together we're building a safer, stronger Cottage Grove and keeping Cottage Grove ready. See you next time.
