Heat. Hey, Heat. The jump start program was really brought about because city government is very complex, you know, from delivering water to EMS to police to recreational programming. And so we thought it was really important to allow our employees to see the entire organization as a whole. There are six sessions. The jump start program is for um new and interested employees to join and learn about all of the different divisions within each department. There's tours on certain meetings. There's games that you play. There's lots of just a lot of learning about what everybody does. >> It's a great opportunity for people to visit different departments. getting the behind thescenes tours, seeing how all of our departments come together to make our city run. >> It's important for new employees to know where they fit into the organization and to know that they're part of a larger team. It's more than just their department or their division. And so, we really want them to feel part of the whole team and to understand that they're part of delivering great customer service to our residents. >> I just really like the the networking aspect of it. So, meeting people that are new to the city just like me. Hearing how everything works together has been really incredible to learn about all the different inner workings and things that I didn't even realize were cityrun and getting to meet the people behind the scenes that do that work. I think it's really important that employees collaborate because we know that you know residents have issues or concerns and it's maybe not just one department that they have concerns with and this provides employees an opportunity to know about the broader depth of our city and everything that we provide. So in the end they can hopefully redirect the resident to other departments or divisions and they can answer other questions that's just beyond their areas of expertise. >> Something that really stood out to me was how big and outreaching our administration team is. >> We have an entire building for salt. I think that's fascinating thing I wouldn't have known um prior to starting here that the fire trucks are very expensive. >> Jumpstart has really been beneficial. I really get enjoy seeing the ins and outs of how the city runs. And the coolest thing for me was at our public works jumpst start program seeing all the fleet vehicles that take care of our city and all the maintenance and upkeep that's required from them. >> One thing that's really unique about Cottage Grove is the culture that we have. We are a people that are very connected. We care about one another. We want to see you succeed in your career and this is just one element to help you be more successful in your journey at Cottage Grove and serving the residents of our community. And you are a great addition. We value you and we really want you to be successful here in Cottage Grove.
