[Music] hello everyone and Welcome to our latest edition of the council update my name is Phil jent your Communications manager here at the city of Cottage Grove these videos provide an opportunity for you to hear directly from your council members with me today is council member Dave thei council member thei welcome thanks Phil happy to be here well council member theti we'll just jump right into it we're talking developments today and I know that there's a lot in the queue right now so tell me about a popular Topic in business Quick Trip yeah Quick Trip does a great job as a convenience store and gas station and people have been really anxious to get one in town there was a couple different locations looked at in the past and it looks like this one's actually going to happen at the intersection of Jamaica and 95th Street and I believe details will be in the city council packet soon I also saw that they're looking at another one just further south on Highway 61 that uh really should satisfy the community's desire for a quick trip at this point thank you for that information and uh on to another significant project the Lockridge development tell me a little bit about that this property is at the intersection of Jamaican military roads and been looked at for quite some time as it uh it's been a little bit challenging because there's quite a bit of bedrock and that has to be dealt with and it looks like the developer has finally figured that out uh the lockerd development proposal includes 99 single family homes and 183 housing units located just north of Lake Robert and adjacent to uh Shepard's Farm we're getting close to filling up the West draw and we're getting inquiries on the rest of the East Ravine uh area east of Keats Road and this will add another segment to uh the Ravine Parkway um on and there's only one more segment that's going to be west of Kei h so and also I heard something the other day about Gerber Collision can you tell me anything about about Gerber Gerber Collision is a national chain for bodyw workk and glass and they promote a lifetime guarantee uh this will be their 15th location in Minnesota and uh should give our residents another good option for Auto Body and Glass Repair the building is currently you can see it from 61 it's currently under construction along West Point Douglas near the Metro Transit parking ride so it's it's getting to look uh fairly complete and last and certainly not least a staple restaurant here in Cottage Grove Tom Moy what's what's new with Tom Moy yeah Tom Moy has been a popular Community restaurant for years along 80th Street there and uh their original owner Connie Moy recently retired after 50 years and Connie is a pillar of The Cottage Grove business community and while we're sad to see her go we also congratulate her on a much deserved retirement and the new owners out here are fantastic FC and are carrying on with Connie's vision of family run business that believes in a warm strong and supportive Community besides the good food I'd encourage folks to give tomoy a look the next time they're hungry that's great and well I just council member thei thank you so much for your time today I know you're very busy so thanks for coming in thank you have a great day well thanks again everyone for watching and as always please visit cottag grov mn.gov or find us on Facebook X or Twitter and blue for more information from the city of coted Grove thank you [Music]
