[0:00] All
[0:04] right.
[0:05] >> All right. So, good afternoon everyone.
[0:07] Uh, this my name is Myron Bailey. I'm
[0:10] here in a brand new restaurant here in
[0:12] Cottage Grove. Uh, we are celebrating
[0:14] the grand opening of Kasamia. And I just
[0:17] want to mention on behalf of the city of
[0:19] Cottage Grove, I want to thank these
[0:21] owners, which will be talking here in a
[0:22] minute, uh, for um, sharing this special
[0:25] moment with us and then also uh, frankly
[0:27] investing here in our community. So,
[0:29] we're pretty excited about that. I also
[0:31] want to thank a couple of their elected
[0:32] officials that are here. Uh, council
[0:34] member Theiti is standing next to me and
[0:36] our representative Wayne Johnson is
[0:38] standing uh right behind me to my left.
[0:41] So, Rosa shared with us the part of the
[0:43] reason uh you both or they both chose
[0:46] Cottage Grove for this exciting new
[0:48] restaurant is because you saw that the
[0:50] Cottage Grove community is connected to
[0:52] each other. So, kind of that great
[0:54] connection there. uh and that they have
[0:56] shown great support uh to the different
[0:58] businesses in our area. So, in other
[1:00] words, whether it's the city working
[1:02] through the local businesses and helping
[1:04] them out uh and the residents that are
[1:06] pretty excited about that. I often do
[1:08] say that our community is what makes
[1:10] Cottage Grove a special place and they
[1:13] are also one of our biggest assets in
[1:15] terms of supporting new business growth.
[1:17] And I'm so proud to see you choose us
[1:19] here in Cottage Grove because she did
[1:21] mention to me a little bit earlier that
[1:23] this is her first restaurant, right?
[1:25] She's got some friends here that are
[1:27] behind the the scenes here that are
[1:28] helping her out that have other
[1:29] restaurants, but this is her first first
[1:31] uh forte here in Cottage Grove. And with
[1:34] that, I do encourage uh everyone to
[1:36] check out Kasamia's Facebook page at
[1:38] Kasamia Restaurant and Bar for more
[1:41] information on how they can connect with
[1:43] you and to support you. So, if you're
[1:45] interested in finding out more, uh,
[1:48] please, uh, check out their Facebook
[1:50] page. I also will mention, just in case
[1:52] people that are around here from Cottage
[1:54] Grove for a while, the location that
[1:56] we're at, um, honestly, used to be the
[1:58] Tom Moyes location in Cottage Grove. So,
[2:00] it's right up 80th Street, just down
[2:02] from like Great Clips and the Eye Clinic
[2:04] and such like that. And then just to our
[2:07] even though you can't get through that
[2:08] way, but just to our uh, west here, if
[2:10] you will, uh, is Goodwill. So, if you're
[2:13] wondering where it's at, it's right up
[2:14] above. and they just got their new sign
[2:16] put in. So, their sign is up. So, please
[2:19] come out and support this great
[2:20] business. Uh, and let's show them that
[2:22] we are ready to embrace some amazing
[2:24] Italian food here in Cottage Grove. So,
[2:27] thank you again to Kas Kasamea. Kasamea
[2:30] Kasame Kasamea uh the team for your
[2:33] commitment and investment here in
[2:35] Cottage Grove. And then I do believe
[2:37] we're going to kick it over to your son.
[2:39] >> Oh, yeah.
[2:40] >> Yeah. So, [laughter]
[2:41] so we're going to kick it over to the
[2:42] son here. And your name is again? Oh,
[2:44] Angel.
[2:44] >> Angel. Angel. Angel is going to say a
[2:47] few words. He'll maybe share a little
[2:48] bit. I've asked him to share a little
[2:50] word, a few words about their open uh
[2:52] hours of operation. Uh they did have a
[2:54] soft opening yesterday. They are open
[2:56] today and then official grand opening
[2:58] tomorrow. So, if you're interested,
[2:59] you're watching this live on on Facebook
[3:01] right now. Come on down and have a great
[3:03] dinner uh here in Cottage Groveia. So,
[3:06] I'm going to kick it over and then he
[3:08] also might tell us about his specials.
[3:10] Here we go.
[3:11] >> Hello guys. My name is Angel. I'm the
[3:13] Rosa Iniguan Sun. We are excited to open
[3:15] our new restaurant today. Hopefully you
[3:16] guys are able to come through. So, a
[3:19] little bit about our hours. We're open
[3:20] from right now we're opening from 3:00
[3:22] to 9:00, but hopefully next week we'll
[3:23] bring you our new lunch menu. We'll have
[3:25] new with different stuff on it. So,
[3:27] we'll be open from 11:00 to 9:00 our
[3:28] regular hours and on the weekends such
[3:30] as Friday and Saturday we'll be open to
[3:31] 10 for you guys. So, a little bit about
[3:34] us. We have most of our things are
[3:35] pastas. It's uh salads and we have some
[3:38] soups and also sandwiches and burgers.
[3:39] Then I also handcrafted a cocktail menu
[3:41] that hopefully you guys are excited to
[3:42] come to. I made it myself. Hope I
[3:45] checked most. I'm not able to drink it,
[3:47] but I [laughter] had other people test
[3:48] it for me. So, and they said it was
[3:49] pretty good. So, hopefully you guys
[3:51] enjoy that. Little bit about us.
[3:55] My mother worked at a restaurant for 12
[3:57] years, so she has a good experience. And
[3:58] my dad is the head chef here. So,
[4:00] hopefully you guys like his food. He
[4:01] doesn't cook like this at home, just to
[4:03] let you guys know. So, [laughter] I
[4:04] don't know. It's the first time I
[4:05] actually taste good food from him.
[4:07] usually.
[4:08] >> It's usually me or my brother cooking or
[4:10] my mom. But yeah, we hope to see you
[4:12] guys here today for a grand opening.
[4:14] Hopefully this weekend also you guys are
[4:15] able to come through and support our
[4:17] business. Thank you guys.
[4:18] >> Fantastic. Thank you. Great job. And I I
[4:21] hope I don't put you on the spot with
[4:23] this question. If they want to call you,
[4:25] do you have a local phone number here?
[4:26] Do you remember what it is? Uh phone
[4:28] number.
[4:31] >> Oh, yes.
[4:32] >> We're going to get that out because I
[4:33] think it's important to
[4:34] >> Also, our phone number is on Google, by
[4:36] the way. So you guys can call us and
[4:38] >> we're trying uh we're getting working
[4:39] with Uber Eats and Door Dash to
[4:41] hopefully bring that to you guys soon.
[4:42] But right now you guys can call us and
[4:43] you guys can do pickup orders if you
[4:45] guys
[4:48] current phone number is on Google. It's
[4:49] also the same one that Tomboy had. It's
[4:50] 651.
[4:51] >> There you go.
[4:52] >> 4599119.
[4:55] >> Fantastic. All right. So with that, now
[4:59] we get to do the official ribbon
[5:01] cutting.
[5:02] >> All right. So, our uh representative
[5:05] here. Yep. Yep. Now, he handed off the
[5:07] scissors. Now, I'm going to hand them to
[5:08] you.
[5:09] >> You going to come in?
[5:11] >> Yep. And so, what I'll do is I'll kind
[5:12] of hold it this way. And it does cut.
[5:16] So, it will cut. So, we'll go three,
[5:17] two, one, and then we'll let you cut.
[5:19] You ready?
[5:20] >> Ready.
[5:20] >> All righty. Three, two, one, cut.
[5:28] [applause]
[5:29] >> Congratulations.
