We're just so grateful for all these donations every month. It's just we're just blessed.

You'll notice that the changes recommended in this policy um update statute references to the federal statute, moving away from state statute. We've always been following the federal statute with respect to um the drug and alcohol cannabis testing with respect to transportation. So the these changes update the policy to reflect those statutes.

Uh Wyoming, we're gonna request tonight permission to bid. We talked at the last meeting after the buildings and grounds committee meeting about the extensive work that will be done next summer at Wyoming Elementary. Again, a lot of HVAC work. Uh the exterior rooms of the building were done during that bond project from the 2015 bond. And now we're working on the interior, the cafeteria, um the gymnasiums, getting all that HVAC tied into the system. Also repainting, uh and some flooring in the school. We'll also be um sectioning off. Right now we have an accordion wall between the cafeteria and the gym. And so that'll go away. They're very costly and we don't really need that full space very often. And so we're just going to go ahead and make that a permanent wall.

I can just say how great it is to be able to have those funds available to us. Correct. Long-term facilities maintenance dollars that we've fought for for many, many, many years. So, that we can continue to keep our buildings in good, you know, good shape and not have to fall behind on repairs again. So, but thank you. This is a great great opportunity. Yep. Thank you. when we set the schoolboard meeting calendar, uh we knew this was a potential conflict. The decision at that time was to wait and see what the dates that MSBA would choose and set their conference dates on. Well, as it turns out, January 15th is right at the the heart of their conference. So with the various board members who attend that conference and even with our presentation at 4 pm, it's going to be a conflict for a number of us, myself included.

It essentially authorizes the district to make an application to the high school league for a form a grant which covers or provides funds to offset the district cost when we wave athletic participation fees. So, it's a great resource that um that just covers the cost of allowing kids to participate. We don't turn any kids away. any kid that wants to participate, we find a way.

I would just like to say I think this is a really wonderful thing and I'm glad that um kids we don't turn any kids away and um um you know I've subbed in that office area before um pre previously and you know it's it's kept really confidential. It's not a big deal. You know they just know that you can ask a staff member in Mr. Hennon's office for help or a dean. I'm sure someone can just refer you. So I think it's really wonderful that we're not you know pricing out kids from sports. I mean, everything is just so expensive. So, I think um this is a really wonderful thing and I'm glad we're able to do it.

I'd like to make a motion to modify the initial appointment of the chair and vice chair leading the superintendent search. I believe everyone should be involved in the process which we've we've discussed and um it's and and the discussion the whole board should have a say on who we hire. It's a very instrumental hire for the superintendent and we need a comp comprehensive process and that's that's all my motion is.

I think a search is highly valuable. It's professional. They do the timeline for us. They help us with in-n-out baskets, establishing what criteria we're looking for. And we can also do the board evaluation together, which is I've done that before. It's a great experience.

my fear of that is now every discussion on the superintendent, it requires a full board meeting and requires all of us to sit here and then uh rather than maybe vetting two or three potential search um firms. We have to vet pretty much all of them.

I mean, we have to do it right. this is, you know, the main job of the school board and I feel super strongly that we need to hire some sort of a search firm to guide us, you know, for some reasons that member Tyson already listed, but you know, they specialize in this. They know how to do that. We don't know how to do that.

I would I would move for the the board to voluntarily postpone reviewing applications until the December 4th meeting at the earliest so that we can make a decision about next steps prior to doing so.
