The board approved the complete process and timeline for filling the vacant board seat. Discussion included setting the application deadline (November 20th), various notification methods (district website, Blackboard, Forest Lake Times on November 5th and 12th), and the selection structure. This structure involves subcommittees selecting finalists and a 'voter's candidate' from the 2024 election. The board also amended a timeline point to remove the strict 'first meeting of the month' requirement for interviews, allowing for greater scheduling flexibility, and clarified the 30-day waiting period for appointment and new member orientation.

If you have any questions, contact and then we'll we'll strike my name, title, and email address and we'll just replace that with schoolboard at floss. Yeah, schoolboard at floss. I think that makes a lot of sense. I like that idea.

I can offer a suggestion. Maybe it's um place list professional qualifications and background or include a resume.

So, I just wanted to add that we know that the statute leaves a lot of decision making at the local level, which is what we're kind of hammering out and what we're doing right now. I do um agree with the idea since it was a recent election that we include the vote getting people that were next in line, but like the superintendent pointed out, they proceed in the same arena, in the same format, the application process, the interview process, and all that. So, um we're kind of navigating our way, and I think so far it sounds like a great path.

I'm going to make a um a motion via unanimous consent here um to amend this to read that uh December 1st, the subcommittee selections would be due to the district office and that we strike this must be done at the first meeting of the month. And if we don't have an objection to that, we'll just go ahead and make that adjustment because we do have a motion on the table here.
