[0:12] Spike is hammered down by Ali
[0:17] Park. All right.
[0:31] See you later.
[0:59] The distance between Northfield and
[1:00] Mameidi 51 nautical miles. And despite
[1:03] that difference, the path seems to
[1:05] always converge in one spot, downtown
[1:07] St. Paul and Grand Casino Arena. For the
[1:10] first time since 2018, the Northfield
[1:12] Raider Raiders travel to the St. Croy
[1:14] Valley Rec Center to take on the Mameidi
[1:16] Zephers in a class A top 10 tilt. It's
[1:19] the Mamed Eiers and the Northfield
[1:21] Raiders. Coming up next on Suburban
[1:23] Community Channels TV 19. Hi everybody.
[1:26] A very pleasant Tuesday afternoon or
[1:28] evening to you here from the St. Croy
[1:30] Valley Rec Center in St. Paul. Not St.
[1:33] Paul, Stillwater, Minnesota. Our camera
[1:35] operators today are Ben Brandon and
[1:36] Christian Stoultzman. In the truck we
[1:38] have David Skyler, Dave Cast, and Joe
[1:40] Sigourney. Well, on paper, a matchup
[1:42] that in terms of the regular season has
[1:44] not been played frequently. This the
[1:46] first time since 2018 that these two
[1:48] teams have played each other here at the
[1:50] St. Croy Valley Rec Center and their
[1:52] first time in regular season play since
[1:54] 2022 in a pregame preseason tournament
[1:58] at Tria Rink in St. Paul. For both
[2:01] teams, it figures to be a big one. It
[2:03] figures to be a good one tonight. We'll
[2:05] get you into it as the evening
[2:06] progresses. It's the Zephers and the
[2:08] Raiders from Stillwater, Minnesota, and
[2:11] the St. Croy Valley Rec Center on a
[2:13] beautiful Tuesday evening in Still
[2:15] Water. Puck goes back to the defensive
[2:17] zone. Cody Lida will pick it up. Starts
[2:20] to break out for the Zephers as they go
[2:21] into the attacking zone. Braden First
[2:23] has it on the right side away. First
[2:25] looking for a cross. Bridger Riley
[2:27] knocks it off of his stick out there in
[2:28] the corner and the Raiders look to start
[2:30] their breakout back the opposite side
[2:32] but denied by Cody Laida at the blue
[2:34] line. Turn it back over. Bridger Riley
[2:36] carries into the attacking zone. He'll
[2:38] try the left side. Pass through the
[2:40] slot. Finds no receiver. Ashton Pumper
[2:42] trying to pinch down from the blue line
[2:43] to get to it. It's taken back over on
[2:45] the other side by Lida for the Zephris
[2:47] and he'll push it back off to the far
[2:49] side.
[2:50] First able to clear the zone. Pumper
[2:52] gathers it back at center. trying to go
[2:54] DD to his opposite partner on the far
[2:56] side and Riley. This will go down the
[2:58] length of the ice and icing is waved
[3:00] off. Picked up by the Zephers in their
[3:02] own defensive zone by Henry Sampair.
[3:06] Play his first couple of years of high
[3:07] school hockey for the Hill Murray
[3:08] Pioneers. Did Sam Pair. He's committed
[3:10] to the University of Maine in hockey
[3:12] East. He'll play division one college
[3:13] hockey next season.
[3:16] Sam Pere looks to start the breakout for
[3:18] the Zephers. Put further ahead for Blake
[3:20] Lida. pass it across the crease for
[3:22] Trevor Rogashesky. A shot through on and
[3:24] our first save of the game is made by
[3:26] Gavin Winter for the Northfield Raiders.
[3:29] Back as far as center, Kale Brumle picks
[3:30] it up there. He'll dump it into the zone
[3:32] and Northfield will go back out in
[3:34] pursuit in the early going here. 1530 to
[3:36] go in this first period. Shots on goal.
[3:38] One to nothing in favor of Monamita. And
[3:40] no scoring so far.
[3:42] Onto the far side. Jacob Peters pinning
[3:46] the corner board. Zephers trying to free
[3:47] it out. Kaden Gagnelius player who was
[3:50] on it for Mameid but couldn't quite get
[3:52] it free. Miles Kennley gathers through
[3:54] center. He'll cut back into the neutral
[3:56] ice now into the left side wing. Rings
[3:58] it around. Looks to feed Carter Simon
[4:00] behind the net. Simon able to escape
[4:02] past the defense of Trevor Rogasheski.
[4:04] Will cut back there. It's left for
[4:07] Michael Stewart on a far side half wall.
[4:10] Can be tied up there further now for
[4:12] Stanford for Northfield. It's taken out
[4:14] of neutralized by Mameita. He'll carry
[4:16] it back in in space. Brock Gman try a
[4:18] shot on goal and a save made by Gavin
[4:20] Winter and another faceoff. Second of
[4:22] the game upcoming here. Our goalending
[4:25] match up tonight as we turn into one of
[4:27] the great all-time goalenders. One of
[4:29] the great all-time coaches in the state
[4:30] of Minnesota, head coach Jeff Poschel
[4:32] surpassed 500 career wins in the 2023 24
[4:35] season and continues to prove Monamida a
[4:38] powerhouse every single year. More on
[4:40] the goalies coming up next. Levi Schmidt
[4:43] to start the breakout for Northfield.
[4:45] goes back into the zone for Zack Sins.
[4:47] He'll pick it up into the defensive
[4:49] zone. Looks to restart Mameidi's
[4:50] breakout. Zephres are record at 56 and2
[4:53] overall this season. 10 and2. It's very
[4:56] much a spot where the Zephers are used
[4:57] to being at this time of the year, but
[4:59] that more a testament to their schedule
[5:01] than their ability. That was off on the
[5:03] far side. Play will continue for the
[5:05] time being. Stick was lifted out of the
[5:06] hands of Henry Weber. And the Zephris
[5:09] will hold his own here. Zack S rifles
[5:11] his chop through. Now the official on
[5:13] the far side realizes the net is off and
[5:15] will have a face off in the Northfield
[5:18] defensive zone.
[5:20] Starting in goal, the senior Gavin
[5:22] Winter made 40 saves on 42 shots when he
[5:25] played against Mameita in last year's
[5:27] consolation semifinal. Four goals
[5:29] allowed in two of his last three
[5:31] appearances in nets. Looking to refine
[5:33] that format at the end of last season.
[5:35] He did have one shut out against Wasika
[5:38] just three games ago for the Raiders.
[5:41] Shot through to the far side. Stick
[5:43] aside by Ashton Pumper. Hung back
[5:45] through center. First was able to get to
[5:48] it first for the Zephers. Storm will
[5:50] knock it down for Northfield and tries
[5:51] to clear the zone but can't. First with
[5:53] it. Shot on. Saved by Winter. Loose puck
[5:56] comes here to the near side for Riker
[5:57] Dunar. Brings it around for Vinnie Red
[5:59] Path. Had a natural hat-tick against
[6:01] Orno earlier on this season.
[6:05] Storm tries to cross. Picked up at
[6:07] center by Red Pass into the zone for the
[6:09] Zephers. Then he left back will try to
[6:11] ring it around. Stopped from the skates
[6:12] of Ashton Pumper and put behind the net
[6:14] for Sora. Puck battle is won by Tommy
[6:17] Bow to the blue line. Another shot and
[6:19] another save by Gavin Winter and quickly
[6:22] seven shots on goal already for the
[6:25] Mameidi Zephers. Meanwhile for Mameidi
[6:27] in goal it's Jackson Chzik the senior
[6:30] from Mameidi. Next win for him today if
[6:33] it is today will be his 10th career.
[6:34] He's been the goalie of record in every
[6:36] game for Mameida. that semiinal
[6:39] consolation game last year against
[6:40] Northfield. He too was good. 46 of 50
[6:43] saves for the Moni Zephers in the loss
[6:46] to Northfield at Trio Rink last season.
[6:51] Miles Kennel into the zone for
[6:52] Northfield. He'll try to drop it off.
[6:54] It's tied up on the near side for Dar.
[6:58] Taken back over. Intercepted by Lida in
[7:00] the defensive zone for Mameita. Blake
[7:02] Lida looks to go further ahead for Cody
[7:05] Lida into the zone. bothered there by
[7:07] Sch Smith. Whether it will circle back
[7:09] in the far side corner dumps in low for
[7:12] Blake Lena by Simon defensively for
[7:14] Northview.
[7:17] First two for the Raiders and her back
[7:19] as far as center will pick it up there
[7:22] to the near side. Desar in the attacking
[7:24] zone for Gakelius. Picks it up out of
[7:27] the corner. Gakelius tries to go for the
[7:28] wraparound and sends it through the blue
[7:30] paint. Kenny backhands it out as far as
[7:32] center. is picked up by Rummel who looks
[7:34] to spring Monamidi quickly back into the
[7:36] attacking zone. 1232 to go first period.
[7:39] Shots on target. 6 nothing Monidi.
[7:42] Zephers still pestering looking for the
[7:44] first goal of the night.
[7:46] Severs in the slot off the glass. Gutman
[7:49] picks it up out of the corner. Shoved
[7:51] off the puck there by Smith for
[7:52] Northfield and intercepted by Gutman on
[7:54] the near side wall. Loose puck through
[7:56] the slot. Gavin Winter will hold on for
[7:58] another face off here with 1213 to go
[8:02] first period of play.
[8:05] For a tenure coach, as long as Jeff
[8:07] Poshel, there's going to be the opposite
[8:08] of that. Charlie Cloud is the head coach
[8:10] of the Northfield Raiders. He's in his
[8:12] first season. Graduated from Northfield
[8:14] in 2011 from Iowa State in 2015. It's
[8:17] his first full-time season as varsity
[8:19] head coach. coach. He spent the previous
[8:21] nine as an assistant coach in Northfield
[8:23] and currently he's a first officer for
[8:25] Sun Country Airlines flying planes for
[8:27] the airlines. How about that?
[8:30] He'll try to keep the Raiders flying
[8:32] high here in their own defensive zone
[8:34] without a shot on goal so far. 1 second
[8:36] was burned off the clock as a result of
[8:38] the miscue
[8:39] and play will continue off the faceoff
[8:41] win. Ash to Pumper. as far as center.
[8:45] Brock Gutterman is first to it for
[8:47] Monamita. Comes all the way back out
[8:48] further to neutral for Braum who tried
[8:50] to get to it. And here go the Raiders
[8:52] back in. Peter has Weber with him, but
[8:54] offside was Weber. So he has to reset.
[8:57] Goes to the far side for the attacking
[9:00] zone. They will go to the corner by
[9:02] Christian Whiteitman and Rumble is first
[9:04] boot for Mamemita. Rumble off the far
[9:06] side and board. So tie up four. One
[9:08] player there. Peters takes it, brings it
[9:11] around. River holds a zone for
[9:13] Northfield and sends in the corner by
[9:14] Christian Whiteitman. Whiteitman knocked
[9:16] off the puck by Brum.
[9:20] Back to the far side, Severs clears his
[9:22] puck down the length of the ice and for
[9:24] the first time tonight, there'll be a
[9:25] faceoff in Mameidi's defensive zone with
[9:29] 1126 to go in period number one.
[9:35] Mamedi Zephers the seven to nothing shot
[9:38] on goal advantage so far. A little
[9:40] different from their last game against
[9:42] the Minnitankka skippers out at Pagel.
[9:45] The first period they were outshot 16
[9:46] to4 in that game. The second period
[9:48] outshot 22 to four. Got closer in the
[9:51] third 10 to nine they outshot.
[9:55] More testament to just how difficult
[9:57] this schedule is as there was no time
[10:01] elapsed off the clock. So still 11:21 to
[10:03] go here in period number one. No score
[10:05] shots on goal. Seven to nothing.
[10:08] But in terms of Mameidi, including
[10:10] tonight at just three games, the
[10:11] remainder of their way will be against
[10:13] teams that are not ranked in either
[10:15] class A or class double.
[10:19] Difficult schedule for Manameidi. Why
[10:21] else wouldn't it be?
[10:24] Drive on that by first. Saved by Winter
[10:26] with 111 left to go. Period number one.
[10:28] Shots on goal are eight to nothing in
[10:31] favor of Monta.
[10:34] Raiders enter this one tonight in a
[10:36] little bit of a winning streak. They've
[10:38] won three in a row, one of which was in
[10:39] overtime, one to nothing over Wasika.
[10:42] Then a win at Northern Lakes on December
[10:44] their 26th. They started this 2026
[10:47] portion of their schedule at 64.
[10:48] Exciting win against New last time out.
[10:51] Only loss in the schedule so far for
[10:52] Northfield. Now dropped the game by the
[10:55] people. If that's the only loss on your
[10:57] schedule for a class A school, you're
[10:59] doing pretty well.
[11:01] Walker Sorum into the zone, dumps in the
[11:03] corner. Zack Sins will pick it up there.
[11:06] since tries to start the breakout. He's
[11:08] tied from the corner. He'll have to
[11:09] reset. 10:15 now 1049 to go. First
[11:11] period of play. Eight to nothing. Shots
[11:13] on goal in favor of Mamemita. Simon
[11:16] gathers it to Warfield. He'll dump it
[11:18] in. Chzich will stop behind the net
[11:20] first to get to it. Recker Dunar. He was
[11:22] unable to handle it and Benjamin had it
[11:24] briefly. Picked it up out as far as
[11:26] center. Tommy Bo starts to re break out.
[11:29] Red pack working in. Shot saved by
[11:32] Winter off the stick of Braden first and
[11:34] held on to for the faceoff did Gavin
[11:37] Winter.
[11:39] 10:28 to go first period. Shots on goal
[11:41] nine to one and now in favor of the
[11:45] Maidi Zephers.
[11:49] It's one of the first games today and
[11:50] it's dropping the puck all across the
[11:52] state of Minnesota. 40ame schedule
[11:55] and this is the one we have for you
[11:57] here. Surely on the draw. It's one by
[12:00] Gagelius as a first shot on from Blake
[12:03] Lloyd. Was a good opportunity but denied
[12:05] by the goalender Gavin Winter.
[12:08] Lid
[12:09] start the break. Henry Sampair
[12:12] bring it back off to the far side. First
[12:15] on the stick was Wade Gilbertson for
[12:16] Northfield but he's forced out by
[12:19] bonding positioning not only exemper but
[12:20] by his own man and Michael Stewart. Shot
[12:23] on from Riley Turnal held in by the
[12:26] Raiders. Schmidt with a shot on a save
[12:28] made by Jackson Chzik as he holds on for
[12:31] a face off. Now shots on goal 103
[12:35] in favor of the Modame Icefers.
[12:40] It's the first of two games today
[12:43] here at St. Croy Valley Rec Center in
[12:46] Varsity Hockey. Still Water will be
[12:48] taking on a opponent. We'll announce
[12:50] that later. Not that game, but just
[12:52] who's playing in case you're curious.
[12:55] Here to the near side
[12:59] turn it over. Riley picks it up for
[13:00] Northfield on the backhanded clearing
[13:02] attempt. It's taken back over by Blake
[13:03] Floyd into the zone. He'll go Desar is
[13:06] in with him. Shot on. Was blocked in
[13:08] front by Riley. That position perfectly
[13:10] for the Raiders. Gilbert to the blue
[13:12] line but not out. Roashes tease up a
[13:15] drive that hit nobody off the far wall.
[13:17] And all the way back to the blue line it
[13:19] goes. Kale Brauml
[13:21] tried to hold the zone but turned it
[13:22] over. It's picked enough by Stewart.
[13:24] Stewart lost it at neutral. Gathered
[13:26] there by Gilbertson and sent back in.
[13:29] Icing is caught.
[13:33] 921 to go. First period. Shots on goal.
[13:36] 11 to3 in favor of Mameita. Still
[13:39] looking for this game's first goal of
[13:42] the night.
[13:44] Now a conversation between officials as
[13:46] to perhaps whether or not I was called
[13:49] correctly or incorrectly.
[13:51] appears as though they'll be content
[13:53] with their call. There'll be a face off
[13:54] to the left of Gavin Winter.
[13:58] Henry Weber on the draw. The senior his
[13:59] third season playing varsity hockey.
[14:02] Lost the face off to the Moni Zephers
[14:05] and Northfield unable to clear the zone.
[14:07] Zins teed up a drive that missed the
[14:09] redirection out in front. Followed up
[14:10] side of the net. Will Severs fired it
[14:12] just one gathered by Jacob Peters who
[14:15] tried to clear the zone. Sent back
[14:17] around on the ring around by Riker
[14:19] Dunbach. cleared back out. Christian
[14:22] Whiteitman further ahead. This goes into
[14:24] Mamedai's zone and Isaac is called
[14:28] again. 855 to go. First period of play.
[14:32] A game early on that has not had its
[14:35] flow develop yet.
[14:38] Part of that perhaps due to two teams
[14:40] not having played each other frequently
[14:43] in regular season play, but also the
[14:45] early start time, 5:00 p. am atypical
[14:47] for a varsity contest during the school
[14:49] week to say the very least.
[14:53] Northfield faceoff win. Weber tried to
[14:56] clear it around for Stewart. It's gotten
[14:58] back on the near side half while his
[14:59] efforts will regain possession there.
[15:01] Deon O'Donnell brings it back behind for
[15:04] Simon.
[15:05] Simon picks it up off the glass. Knocked
[15:08] down by O'Donnell there. O'Donnell goes
[15:10] cross crease. Was looking for Blake
[15:13] Benz. It's picked up first in the corner
[15:15] by Will Severs. Taken over by the
[15:17] Raiders. Whiteitman looks to bring
[15:19] Peters further ahead, but the pass is
[15:21] long and icing is caught.
[15:27] You can see the ideas. You can see what
[15:29] Northfield is trying to spring, how
[15:31] they're trying to get that strategy
[15:32] going, but so far hasn't quite worked
[15:34] their way.
[15:37] Well, Jeff Posial walk watching on his
[15:40] 29th year as head coach of Madame Midi.
[15:46] Face off one by Northfield.
[15:48] Red Path takes it over into the corner.
[15:50] They'll fight for it. Red Path has his
[15:52] skate into the boards. Riley is trying
[15:54] to pin him there. Players that are
[15:56] fighting for it. Audrey Benjamin looking
[15:58] for it. Goes back into the slot. Walker
[16:00] Swarm takes it back here to the near
[16:01] side for the Benjamin trying to clear
[16:03] back out as far as center was able to do
[16:05] so. left for Charlie Becker. Becker into
[16:08] the zone now for Oliver Benjamin.
[16:09] Spinning Riley. A shot in and out of the
[16:11] glove and another chance from the near
[16:14] side. Unable to get finished off on by
[16:16] Benjamin as Chzik made a great first
[16:18] save.
[16:20] First goes back for Sam Pere into the
[16:23] zone for Will Sever. Sever try to
[16:25] feather a pass through. That's gathered
[16:28] up by Benjamin. Clear back as far as
[16:29] center. Cody Lida gathers sends it in on
[16:32] goal towards Winter. Winter will drop it
[16:34] and allows defense to start the play.
[16:37] Sorum long saucer pass looking for
[16:39] Philip Benjamin. Not handled cleanly.
[16:41] Vinnie Red Path takes over from Moni.
[16:44] Red Path was shot and a save made by
[16:46] Gavin Winter. He holds on for another
[16:49] faceoff.
[16:50] Here was 723 to go. First period of
[16:53] play.
[16:56] Best chance of the night for Northfield.
[17:04] Great entry into the zone. Good passes,
[17:06] but that last shot just not quite where
[17:09] they intended it to be. Just a little
[17:11] off line.
[17:17] That chance really not necessarily the
[17:19] story of the game so far. A lot of this
[17:20] game has been spent in the bottom eight
[17:23] attacking zone.
[17:25] Stewart got a pass right back from
[17:27] Gilbertson. Dropped it off. Blocked
[17:29] shot. Well done by Trevor Roaches and
[17:32] Schmidt holds it in for Northfield at
[17:33] the zone. Kennaly teed up a drive save
[17:36] made by Jackson Jezik and he'll hold on
[17:39] for a faceoff with 659 to go in period
[17:42] number one.
[17:48] Talk about the Zephr schedule so far
[17:50] this year. If you look at the schedule,
[17:52] who they've played independent of the
[17:54] Metro East teams, you look more so at
[17:56] how they started. They started two
[17:58] games, both played at Centennial in
[18:01] their home ranking to begin the season,
[18:04] but both good results. A 6-3 win against
[18:08] Centennial on their home ice
[18:11] overtime loss to Bla. Not a bad place to
[18:14] start the season. But then you follow
[18:15] that up with a tie against Hill Murray
[18:19] in the St. Croy Valley Rec Center.
[18:21] That's just the kind of schedule Moni
[18:22] has. Stewart into the zone. He dropped
[18:25] it off to Wade Gilbertson. Gilbert has
[18:27] his stick tied up higher. That loose
[18:30] puck is taken advantage of. Shot in
[18:32] right back. And another shot on the far
[18:34] side from Chzik as into the zone went
[18:37] two players, Kennley and Simon. And both
[18:40] were selfless. Maybe one of the two
[18:42] should have taken the shot.
[18:45] Chzik back behind. He left it there for
[18:48] a teammate. First player to it is
[18:50] Christian Whiteitman for Northfield.
[18:52] Whiteitman is tied up. Gagnelius and
[18:54] Dunar on pressure creates separation for
[18:56] Zack Zins to start the breakout for
[18:58] Manameita.
[19:00] Further ahead for Gagius. Lost a handle
[19:03] into the zone. Back this puck will go as
[19:06] Walker Swarm will take it. Conor Simon
[19:09] looks to make the play for Northfield.
[19:10] Peters with it now. Across the blue
[19:12] line, but off sides is called
[19:16] and a faceoff at neutral ice with 554 to
[19:19] go. Period number one.
[19:22] Another really good look. First the
[19:25] separation that was created off of the
[19:27] turnover.
[19:28] Kennaly that give and go with Stewart.
[19:31] Both players had a chance to shoot. Both
[19:33] choose to be
[19:35] unselfish in that situation. I'm sure
[19:37] that coach Charlie Cloud likes that but
[19:39] would prefer the puck in the back of the
[19:41] net. Peters fired a drive. Storm picks
[19:44] it up there. Another shot. He scores.
[19:51] Rifle from the blue line. Walker Sorum
[19:54] the junior picks up his second. He's got
[19:56] points in three straight. And Northfield
[19:59] surprisingly takes a one to nothing
[20:00] lead.
[20:08] A sound that stopped almost the entire
[20:11] barn.
[20:15] That shot from Saum
[20:18] didn't appear to be redirected. Maybe a
[20:20] good screen out in front, but either
[20:23] way, Walker Sorum gets his second goal
[20:25] of the year, his sixth point. And
[20:27] Morfield has a lead.
[20:30] Tommy Bow into the zone looking to
[20:31] equalize for Madame. B will wrap.
[20:34] Sampair at the blue line. Blocked well.
[20:37] Perfect position by Philip Benjamin. Out
[20:40] of the corner, taken there first. So
[20:43] we'll see the Sampair a shot through
[20:46] brings all the way back to the near side
[20:48] and it's far back out of center. Henry
[20:50] Sampair looking to circle sent back in
[20:54] but this time it's into the into the
[20:57] pimp pen here at St. Croy Valley Rec
[21:00] Center. Hit something and it'll be
[21:03] another face off that will result.
[21:06] Walker Storm officially given the goal.
[21:09] Northfield when they score first this
[21:12] season they are perfect 60 and0 mid Ian
[21:16] conceding the first goal 14 and one
[21:20] are these stats yes
[21:23] they impact what's happening today no
[21:25] will they help paint the picture
[21:26] absolutely
[21:30] for the pass for Gagius but offside will
[21:33] be called as soon as Gagelius touches it
[21:36] and he will
[21:40] And it's wild. I think that if you were
[21:41] to take this from a neutral perspective,
[21:45] >> if you were to look at the first this
[21:47] point 10 minutes of this game with the
[21:50] choppiness that Northfield had to begin
[21:52] at, how
[21:56] unrefined those passes were as there's
[21:58] another puck into the netting and
[22:00] another faceoff
[22:02] here in the passing moments. 431 to go.
[22:06] But if you would have seen that first 10
[22:08] men 10 minutes, you wouldn't figure that
[22:10] Northfield would be the team on the
[22:11] scoreboard first. Nonetheless, they are
[22:17] Walker Sorum who was able to put them on
[22:19] the board.
[22:22] Face off win by Gagelius. He'll send it
[22:25] into the zone. Winter stops it behind
[22:27] for Northfield. Pushed around by Pumper
[22:29] held in and a shot through off a stick
[22:31] of Kale Gruml. Find it way back to the
[22:34] near side half wall. Another puck into
[22:37] the netting and another face off with
[22:39] 416 to go.
[22:41] The longer this game goes, the more
[22:44] likely I thought it was going to be that
[22:46] we would have some sort of a rhythm,
[22:47] some sort of a flow to this game. But
[22:50] it's a game
[22:52] at this point now. 12 minutes
[22:55] and 44 seconds gone into it that there
[22:58] just hasn't been any rhythm so far.
[23:00] Gagnelius
[23:02] for Brauml around off the end boards.
[23:06] Lloyd has his pocket pick. Raiders
[23:08] starting to break out for Stewart and
[23:11] send it to the zone. Bumble first two
[23:12] for Mame. Silent Ys and dumps it back
[23:15] in. Taken by Trevor Rogasheski.
[23:17] Rogasheski gains a blue line. He dumps
[23:20] it in will change their lines back
[23:22] behind.
[23:24] Ashton Pumper further ahead for Peters.
[23:26] Peters team up a drive and steered to
[23:28] the corner by Chz.
[23:31] Whiteitman will hold it in.
[23:34] >> Play set back behind. Bring able to get
[23:36] to it in the corner. Wrong back off that
[23:38] far side for Will Severs. Almost cleared
[23:41] out by Mameidi but held in by
[23:43] Northfield. Gutterman will get to it
[23:45] now. Mameidi clears it there on the
[23:47] right side for Severs down to the
[23:49] Northfield end. 318 to go first period.
[23:52] Still one- nothing in favor of
[23:54] Northfield. Shots now 14-8 in favor of
[23:57] the bottom eye zephers. Gavin Winter has
[24:00] stopped all 14 so far. A turnover. Kevin
[24:04] O'Donnell puts it down and low. A shot
[24:06] through and another save from a sharp
[24:08] angle off of Brock Gutman. Stick by
[24:10] Gavin Winter.
[24:13] Christian Lightman brings it around for
[24:15] Jacob Peters. Peters tries to start the
[24:18] breakout. Got as far as center. Weber
[24:20] with a backhanded clearance off the
[24:21] skate of Dumbar and picked back over by
[24:24] Whitman. Weber a shot saved by Chzik. He
[24:26] steers it to the corner. Weber gathers.
[24:30] Zappers look to start the break and
[24:32] Brock Gunnman to the red line. Gutterman
[24:35] looking to move with it. Gathers works
[24:37] his way to the slot. A shot through.
[24:38] Saved by Winter as Braden first fired a
[24:41] rifle just at the top of the dock.
[24:44] Oliver Benjamin takes it over. Benjamin
[24:47] put further ahead. Was looking for
[24:48] Simon. gathered instead by Henry Sampair
[24:51] off far side. The red path lost the
[24:53] handle into the zone. It's gathered back
[24:55] up by Northfield and Charlie Becker
[24:57] Smith behind the net. He'll take it
[24:59] there to the half one chipped out by
[25:02] Benjamin looking for his opposite number
[25:04] and Oliver Benjamin. And this one will
[25:07] go out of play in a faceoff here at
[25:09] Neutralize. 203 to go in period number
[25:13] one.
[25:16] First match up between these two teams
[25:18] at St. Croy Valley Rec Center since
[25:20] December 22nd of 2018. Zephers won that
[25:24] one by a final score of 7 to1. Many of
[25:27] the student athletes who competed in
[25:29] that game have since moved on not just
[25:32] to college but have graduated since
[25:36] quite some time since any Raiders played
[25:38] here at least against Mona.
[25:44] Schmid into the zone from the slot shot
[25:46] on save Chzik and he'll hold on for a
[25:49] face off and Mammina then with a minute
[25:51] 45 to go. Period number one.
[25:55] Goal differential for each of these
[25:57] teams fairly even
[26:00] so far this season. Northfield has
[26:01] scored seven, they've conceded seven.
[26:03] Mameidi scored 12, they've conceded 10.
[26:07] It's pretty even in terms of the plus
[26:09] minus
[26:10] over the course of that period. Another
[26:12] shot through. Run around on the near
[26:14] side and all the way back as far as
[26:16] center. Kenny
[26:19] pops it back to the blue line of Ashe
[26:20] Pumper. Pumper across the red and now
[26:22] the attacking zone move. It's knocked
[26:24] off of a stick and finds a home in the
[26:27] corner.
[26:28] Run by Gagnis.
[26:30] Picked up there by Roasheski. Roasheski
[26:33] couldn't clear it. Sends it back now for
[26:34] Kale. Bring the other side. Rumble
[26:38] gathers possession. gathers ahead of
[26:40] steam and Brumble twoon two tries to get
[26:42] around one back to the far side. It's
[26:45] held in there by Bridger Riley from
[26:47] Northfield now taken back over by
[26:49] Gagelius. Gagas tries a backand picked
[26:52] up by Desar
[26:54] Midi as he'll circle pushed down below
[26:57] and Blake Lida on the give and go back
[26:59] as far as center held in beautifully by
[27:01] Kale Bruml. Brummel's shot locked out in
[27:04] front by Stewart and here goes
[27:05] Northfield. Twoon two Stewart dropped
[27:08] for Kennley. Kennley creates some space.
[27:10] Had a shot that was blocked by Brummel.
[27:12] And another one on the far side off the
[27:15] stick of Christian Whiteitman into the
[27:16] glove of Jackson Chzik who holds on for
[27:18] a faceoff with 41.9 left to go here in
[27:22] period number one.
[27:25] Shots have been a plenty so far. 16-11.
[27:30] The shots on goals. Efforts as a team
[27:32] have averaged 35 per game this season.
[27:35] Northfield meanwhile 38.3. So not
[27:37] atypical the pace Simon a shot on. Chzik
[27:40] puts it to the far side corner.
[27:44] Raiders will hold it in. Whiteitman lost
[27:47] his edging and lost his edging
[27:49] illegally, meaning that there will be a
[27:51] penalty assist against Mameidi in our
[27:53] first power play of the game. We'll
[27:55] start in the first period, extend to the
[27:57] second period and maybe
[28:00] result in a goal one way or the other.
[28:03] The affected party here
[28:06] for Monina will be Henry Sampair who
[28:08] goes for a hook
[28:11] at 1631 by that officials designation
[28:17] that puts Northfield on a power play
[28:19] there. First of the game
[28:22] faceoff one by Northfield. Kenny had to
[28:26] walk it back but a good pressure made by
[28:28] Cody Lloyd. Sends it back. Zephris will
[28:30] have numbers as Lita carries it back
[28:31] into the zone. Wilbertson fighting with
[28:34] Lida for possession. Left it there. It's
[28:36] taken over now. Bridger Riley. Miles
[28:39] Kenny to the attacking zone. Kenny
[28:42] dropped it off. A shot blocked out in
[28:44] front off the stick of Zaxons. And a
[28:47] faceoff that will be due. Back in the
[28:50] defensive zone of Mamemidi. The
[28:52] officials will go over to the scorers
[28:53] table and see what time, if any, need be
[28:56] tacked on.
[29:02] I will tack on an extra second. So 5.8
[29:06] here
[29:08] >> left to go in period number one. Stewart
[29:11] one the draw. Try to send it through.
[29:13] Riley has it in the corner. One last
[29:14] backhanded chance as the puck goes
[29:16] through to the half wall. The horn will
[29:18] sound and for as dominant as Monave was
[29:21] in the first 10 minutes of play, it is
[29:24] the Northfield Raiders via Walker Saom's
[29:28] second goal of the season that has given
[29:30] the Northfield Raiders a one to nothing
[29:32] lead after 17 minutes of play here at
[29:35] the St. Croy Valley Rec Center in St.
[29:38] Paul's suburb still water. Raiders went
[29:41] leading after one. They're 3 and0 this
[29:43] season. Zephers when trailing 03 and
[29:46] one. Coming back in a couple of moments
[29:48] for some intermission conversation, some
[29:49] highlights, some stats, and everything
[29:51] else you might find useful. The Raiders

[34:26] Walker Sorum his first goal since
[34:28] December the 9th against Mano West as
[34:31] Northfield Raiders in front by a score
[34:33] of one to nothing after 17 minutes of
[34:35] play from St. Croy Valley Rec Center in
[34:37] Stillwater, Minnesota. Hi everybody.
[34:39] Very pleasant Tuesday evening to you. My
[34:41] name is Alex Wistad here high at top the
[34:42] ice at St. Croy Valley Rec Center. For
[34:45] the first 7 minutes of this game, it was
[34:48] almost expected, anticipated, whatever
[34:51] superlative you want to use, that the
[34:53] bottom eight zephers were going to
[34:54] cruise their way to victory. But
[34:56] Northfield went late and they turned on
[34:58] the gas. Sure enough, a series of
[35:00] highflying
[35:02] physical play and flurry of shots. Many
[35:06] zephers flung everything that they had
[35:08] at Gavin Winter over that early stretch.
[35:10] And every single time the senior
[35:12] goalender said no to a mameidi Zephr
[35:16] shooter. Northfield had their chances,
[35:18] plenty of them. That Kenny and Stewart
[35:20] chance was the key. But that shot
[35:22] harmlessly as it seemed. Walker Sorum
[35:25] with the goal ahead goal in the first
[35:27] period. That's given the Northfield
[35:29] Raiders this one to nothing lead. They
[35:31] hold after 17 minutes of play. Shots
[35:34] again 16 to12 in favor of Mameidi.
[35:37] Scoring opportunities four to four. But
[35:39] again, with that first 7 minutes of
[35:42] play, you really felt like Madame was
[35:44] going to make something happen, going to
[35:46] turn something into a goal there. But
[35:49] for better or worse, Madame just
[35:51] couldn't handle it as her struggles
[35:53] against ranked teams this year continue.
[35:55] 16 and two after regulation games
[35:57] against ranked opponents. So far, still
[36:00] looking for that first goal. And we'll
[36:02] have about a minute and 32 seconds of
[36:05] penalty kill time to begin period number
[36:07] two. And the period of the long change,
[36:12] one to nothing. Northfield leads over
[36:15] Mamedai after 17 minutes of play. Walker
[36:17] Storm the goal. We'll see who's got the
[36:19] next goal coming up next here on your

[39:49] of my family. So, I went back and I got
[39:52] my high school diploma. That was the
[39:55] catalyst I needed. Now, I have a
[39:57] bachelor's, a master's, and I became a
[39:59] teacher.
[40:03] Mom, this is your very first yearbook.
[40:06] >> Your commitment to education motivates
[40:08] me, your co-workers, and your students.
[40:10] >> You showed me that if you come from
[40:12] nothing, you can still be anything.
[40:14] >> You told me I deserve to succeed. It's
[40:16] been 15 years, and I still live by that.
[40:18] You're the model for success for your
[40:20] kids, grandkids, and your students. When
[40:23] I look at all these success stories, I
[40:26] cannot help but think it all started by
[40:28] getting my high school diploma. When you
[40:30] graduate, they graduate. Visit
[40:32] finishyoudiplip.org to find free and
[40:35] supportive adult education centers near
[40:37] you.
[40:38] >> Calling all big thinkers.
[40:42] The world's climate is changing.
[40:46] These aren't new facts, but it means we
[40:49] must think in new ways.
[40:52] Engineers are answering the call to
[40:55] create solutions that decrease our
[40:57] dependence on fossil fuels. Taking
[40:59] lessons from the best engineer out
[41:01] there, nature. Engineers are creating
[41:03] cleaner, safer, and reliable energy.
[41:22] Well, it doesn't take a big thinker to
[41:24] realize it's been a good game so far
[41:25] today at the St. Croy Valley Rec Center.
[41:28] Northfield 1, Monomidi Zero. After 17
[41:31] minutes of play, Raiders will have a
[41:33] minute 32 of power play time to begin
[41:36] this second period. And what's been and
[41:39] what has been expected to be a great
[41:41] match up between two top 10 teams in
[41:43] class A tonight in Stillwater,
[41:46] Minnesota.
[41:48] First regular season meeting between
[41:49] these two since 2022. First in this barn
[41:52] since 2018. They haven't played each
[41:54] other frequently. separated by 51 miles
[41:57] of highway driving. Here's what it's
[41:59] been over the course of that time in
[42:00] which these two teams have played each
[42:02] other dating back in far as 2017 in the
[42:05] state a quarterfinal at then XL Energy
[42:08] Center now Grand Casino Arena. Since
[42:11] then, Mameidi had won a series of four
[42:15] in a row prior to last year's state a
[42:18] consolation game at 3M Arena at Maruchi.
[42:22] zone. Northfield bookending those two
[42:24] wins in between four Mamedai wins. And
[42:27] when Mamedai wins, they score in
[42:29] bunches, winning by about a three to
[42:32] four goal per game margin over
[42:34] Northfield in that head-to-head match
[42:36] up. So when the Zephers win, they win by
[42:38] a lot. Whereas Northfield knows how to
[42:40] hold on to a win.
[42:43] Gavin Winter has been holding on so far.
[42:46] 16 shots faced, 16 shots stopped.
[42:50] Jackson Chzich has only bluffed one time
[42:54] or a shot low. Screen perhaps got past
[42:57] the senior goalender
[42:59] as he made 43 of 47 in a four to nothing
[43:03] loss to Minnetonka on Saturday at Pagel
[43:05] Ice Arena in Minnotonka.
[43:08] And the Raiders will head back to the
[43:09] power play to begin period number two.
[43:12] Northfield's power play had ample
[43:15] opportunities their last game against
[43:17] Newreg but was ultimately limited to
[43:20] going one for six in terms of the Raider
[43:23] power play on the road. They are just
[43:25] one for their last 12 in road games. A
[43:30] year ago against Mameita, they went 1
[43:31] for five in the consolation semifinal of
[43:35] last year's class A state tournament at
[43:39] Frea Marina at Maruchi.
[43:42] Kale Brummel had it back from Manameai,
[43:44] but off sides was called and there'll be
[43:47] a face off at neutral ice. A minute and
[43:48] 20 remaining on this power play for
[43:52] Northfield. It was on the pass it will
[43:53] be back towards the shallow side. Zephr
[43:56] side of neutral ice.
[43:59] Zephforts meanwhile their penalty kill
[44:01] on the season 68.3% but with a little
[44:04] grain of salt there against Minnetonka
[44:06] on Saturday. They killed three of four.
[44:09] And here on home ice, they've killed 12
[44:11] of 13 home penalties faced this season.
[44:15] So again, take that with just a grain of
[44:18] salt based on how they have been
[44:19] performing this year. Gilbertson into
[44:23] the zone. Shot threw redirected off of
[44:24] the stick of Roishes and back into the
[44:28] Mamedai zone. Another faceoff in that
[44:30] zone with a minute four remaining of
[44:32] power play time for the Northfield
[44:33] Raiders.
[44:38] Eastston Desolar all four points goals
[44:40] this year. A little unique for him
[44:42] though as he was just on your screen.
[44:44] His four points this year all goals. A
[44:46] year ago all four of his points were
[44:47] assists. How about that?
[44:51] Whiteitman out of the corner. Try to
[44:53] take it there. He's still hung to the
[44:54] corner as they'll continue to fight for
[44:56] it there. Check delivered on the near
[44:58] side byman. They'll continue to wrestle
[45:00] for the puck in the corner. 46 seconds
[45:03] on power play time. Miles Kenny back to
[45:06] the blue line for Bridger. Bridger and a
[45:08] tripping call is coming. We'll even it
[45:10] up. The question is though, which way
[45:12] will this go? Except for goalender Chzik
[45:14] was out of the net.
[45:19] This will be an interference minor with
[45:21] will spring the door open for Northfield
[45:23] on their side. Their captain Bridger
[45:25] Riley in his fourth season on the
[45:27] varsity roster heads to the penalty box.
[45:30] We'll have 37 seconds of four on four
[45:32] time before the Zappers get their first
[45:34] power play of the night.
[45:40] Sam Pere 37 seconds remaining on his
[45:42] penalty time
[45:46] for Riley's full two starts now. Face
[45:48] off briefly controlled by Mamedi then
[45:50] reathered by Levi Schmidt
[45:53] looking to start the breakout. Ashton
[45:56] Pumper for Northfield cleared it back
[45:58] out. Cody Lloyd had it. Sends it off the
[46:00] boards. Steon O'Donnell carries it back
[46:02] into his corner. Try to draw the penalty
[46:04] around Peters. Peters able to wrestle it
[46:06] free for Northfield.
[46:08] Peters back from the far side. Hit off
[46:11] the stick of Gutman. Back into the
[46:13] Northfield defensive zone and 8 seconds
[46:15] remaining of four time. Pumper
[46:19] had it knocked down. Picked up by
[46:21] Schmidt. Schmidt will wind the clock as
[46:23] much as he can as the Zephers are back
[46:25] to full strength. Great straight work
[46:27] made by Manavita as they're able to get
[46:30] the puck back. It's taken by Cody Lida.
[46:32] And now Henry Sampair further ahead into
[46:34] the zone for Owen O'Donnell.
[46:37] Back out in front. Shot through.
[46:39] Blocked. Not by Winter, but instead by
[46:40] the defender Pumper down the length of
[46:43] the ice. It'll go. Goender Ches will
[46:45] come out to play it laterally on the
[46:46] line with 59 seconds remaining on the
[46:48] first Zephr power play of the night. Sam
[46:52] Pair
[46:53] looks to go for a pass. finds Gutman on
[46:56] the left side. Gutman walks his way low.
[47:00] Spins around Stewart. Gutman pumped back
[47:03] down low for Red Pack to Gutman to the
[47:05] point. Lita Lida. Sampair on the dock.
[47:08] Shot save by Gavin Winter and he hold on
[47:11] for a faceoff. 37 seconds remaining on
[47:14] this power play.
[47:16] Still one to nothing. Northfield holding
[47:18] on. Bottom ice power play went 0 for
[47:21] four against Minnetonka on Saturday.
[47:24] They're one for their last seven power
[47:26] play attempts here at St. Croy Valley
[47:27] Rec Center. Their last power play goal
[47:29] coming here on home December the 12th
[47:32] against Warro
[47:35] for Lida INTO THE SLOT. SCORE STREAK IS
[47:38] OVER. VINNIE RED PAT HIS EIGHTH of the
[47:40] year. Power play goal and the Zephers
[47:43] tie it at one all.
[47:57] Vinnie Red Path had a natural hat-tick
[48:00] against Orino in this building. And how
[48:03] the bumper man finds his way into the
[48:05] middle of the ice. Not just finding it,
[48:07] but having that much time, having that
[48:09] much space
[48:12] where he could just pick a corner.
[48:13] Vinnie Red Path does exactly that. And
[48:16] it's 1-1 on the power play goal for the
[48:19] Mameidi Zephers.
[48:22] And all of a sudden, we got us a game
[48:24] now.
[48:27] Red Path, his eighth in terms of the
[48:29] Zephr team leaders. That will tie him
[48:31] with Deon O'Donnell who also has a
[48:36] icing called here. Face off to result in
[48:39] the Mameidi defensive zone.
[48:44] Sampair picks up the assist as does Cody
[48:47] Lida
[48:48] >> for Lida. That makes it now five assists
[48:51] in his last four games.
[48:54] For Sam Pair, he picks up just his
[48:56] fourth point
[48:59] no Zephers this year.
[49:03] Across it goes. Blake Benzone
[49:06] dropped it off. Hit the back side of the
[49:08] skate of first. Zephers will try to hold
[49:11] possession. goes back out for Zack Sins.
[49:14] Zins chipped back into the defensive
[49:16] zone. Pumper to it for Northfield.
[49:18] Mororrow back it out. Benjamin will send
[49:22] it down. Race for the puck is on and
[49:24] pass from the far side quarter by Weber.
[49:26] Finds it way all the way back out
[49:27] through neutral. Here's Braden first.
[49:29] First will try the corner. Lowers his
[49:31] shoulder. Trying to drive his way in.
[49:33] Rubbed out of the play by Schmid. Tommy
[49:36] Bone
[49:38] will put it low. Back to the blue line
[49:40] around the horn.
[49:42] Zins tried to put a shot through. Taken
[49:45] over by Charlie Becker. Freed back
[49:47] through neutral. Dunar
[49:50] for Zins. Spinning around. Benjamin
[49:53] looking to get himself some more space.
[49:55] Zins. That puck intercepted by Charlie
[49:58] Becker. And Benjamin will reset for
[50:00] Northfield into their own defensive zone
[50:02] for the Raiders. Bridger Riley taken
[50:04] over by Riker Dunar. Riley regains for
[50:06] Northfield. Riley from the wall sends a
[50:10] shot towards goal and Jackson Chzik will
[50:12] hold on for a save here in period number
[50:14] two.
[50:17] 1301 left to go period number two.
[50:20] Walker Sorum
[50:22] in the first. Vinnie Red path in the
[50:25] power play in the second and we're all
[50:28] tied at one goal a piece.
[50:31] Weber on the faceoff draw for
[50:32] Northfield. Deon O'Donnell on it for
[50:34] Monamita.
[50:36] cover the faceoff win. A tea up and a
[50:38] drive. The first save made by Chzik
[50:40] steered back to the corner. Peters
[50:43] Peters taken out of the play by Brummel
[50:46] legally
[50:47] and Whiteman will hold on. Taken back
[50:49] over now by O'Donnell trying to free his
[50:52] attacking partner there and Brock Gman
[50:54] who's playing up from defensive
[50:57] sent back down to the corner. Rung to
[50:59] the near side Sever. Sever pass through.
[51:03] It's taken back over by Manidi and
[51:05] Trevor Roasheski, but the whistle will
[51:07] blow and there was a Zephr without his
[51:10] helmet. Will Sever's lost it at the high
[51:12] school level. The whistle blows
[51:14] immediately and there'll be another face
[51:15] off in a last play situation after this.
[51:21] Jacob Peters, there's Will Severs. Four
[51:24] points in his last five entering the
[51:25] night. Career year last season, seven
[51:28] goals, nine assists. Also linebacker and
[51:30] running back for Mameidi football.
[51:33] have to put his helmet on here. I'm sure
[51:37] >> Dave Metsel would like to see the helmet
[51:39] strapped tight a little bit more in the
[51:40] football season there for receivers as
[51:43] well.
[51:45] Off the face off, it's taken in by
[51:47] Gilbertson. Look behind Serar
[51:52] try to clear it back out through center.
[51:54] hit off the skate of Stewart and it's
[51:56] picked up by Pumper.
[52:00] Sorum
[52:01] takes his time across neutral. Sorum
[52:03] will cut back at the near side wall.
[52:05] Sorum drops for Stewart. Stewart trying
[52:08] to cut his way on in. Taken out on the
[52:10] play by Cody Lida. Stewart into the
[52:13] corner. He'll gather it up there. Desar
[52:17] put it back for Sampair. Sarah sends a
[52:19] long shot on. Winter makes the save.
[52:22] Sorum cleared back out to center down
[52:24] the length of the ice. It'll go and
[52:27] icing is called
[52:29] >> charge.
[52:30] >> 1146 to go. Second period. Shots on
[52:33] goal. 19-4
[52:36] in favor of the Monameai Zephers. A
[52:38] high-flying first period. Saw both teams
[52:41] amass quite a few shots on goal. Slowed
[52:44] down a little bit here in period number
[52:46] two. Also a little bit more flow
[52:48] compared to what there was in the first
[52:50] frame of this game as well.
[52:55] Face off controlled by Northfield.
[52:56] They'll clear it out, but this will go
[52:58] down the length of the ice. And lo and
[52:59] behold, another icing call.
[53:13] Face off to the right
[53:16] of Gavin Winter.
[53:19] He will not record a clean sheet
[53:21] tonight, but did have one clean sheet
[53:23] against Wasika. Odd to that a shot would
[53:26] occur in overtime where the pressure is
[53:28] all the more on, but that's what he did.
[53:30] He picked it up in a one- nothing win.
[53:32] The Raiders over the Blue Jays of Wasa
[53:34] in the overtime session.
[53:38] Dunbar trying to send a shot through.
[53:40] It's run around to the far side. It's
[53:42] gathered up by Charlie Becker. Becker
[53:44] tried to clear through the zone. Simon
[53:45] will hold it in. Rings it around to the
[53:46] far side. There Riley back to the blue
[53:49] line where it's chipped out by Philip
[53:50] Benjamin into the Zephr defensive zone.
[53:52] Icing is waved off. Zack sends to it.
[53:55] Rings it around to the near side. It's
[53:56] gathered up by Stewart at first. Then
[53:59] Simon was the one who tried to make a
[54:01] play on it. Great pass. Ben's red path
[54:03] into the zone. It's knocked off the
[54:05] stick as Dunar couldn't handle it.
[54:07] Benjamin was the one who had the stick
[54:08] on for Northfield and the Zephers are
[54:10] delayed offside.
[54:13] Carter Simon for Becker. Becker taken
[54:16] out of the play by Zack Sins. And the
[54:19] time of the referee for time being will
[54:20] stand out. O'Donnell passed back out.
[54:23] Shot save by Winter on a good look in
[54:26] the slot by Braden first.
[54:31] It's amazing tonight how many times
[54:33] we've seen good setups, good rushes into
[54:35] the zone. Here's Mamedai's latest
[54:37] example of that
[54:39] >> first being that F3 being that one high
[54:41] in the slot waiting for that shot to
[54:43] come and the senior
[54:47] with an impressive plus nine on the
[54:48] season entering play tonight. Able to
[54:50] pick that off and almost finished it
[54:53] off.
[54:54] Peters out of the corner. Pumper gathers
[54:57] for Northfield. Here's Whiteitman.
[55:00] Whiteitman tried to stay on side and
[55:01] did. Whiteitman left it for Weber. Into
[55:04] the corner it goes. Weber pass
[55:06] Whiteitman. Save made by Chzik as it
[55:10] just caught part of the pipe on the way
[55:12] out of play.
[55:16] Amadame gets a chance in their own
[55:18] right. Northfield responds with one of
[55:20] their own. The play everybody thought
[55:22] was offside. But just as Red Path was
[55:26] open in the slot with a power play goal
[55:28] for the Zephers. Same two there for
[55:30] Christian Whiteitman
[55:32] and the goalie's best friend. post.
[55:34] Helped him out there. Peters had a
[55:36] chance at it as did Whiteman. He was
[55:38] taken back over by Midas. Brock
[55:40] Gutterman for a pass further ahead. Was
[55:42] looking for Kale Bruml to the corner on
[55:45] the far side. Whiteitman looks to push
[55:47] it further ahead. Peters gathers it
[55:50] there. Peters looks for a pass instead.
[55:52] Turns it into a shot. Chzik steers it
[55:54] aside.
[55:55] Weber. It'll be offside if it's touched
[55:58] by Northfield. And it will be with the
[56:00] lead of an offsides call. Good attempt
[56:03] at it by Peters to hold the zone, but
[56:06] just a little behind on it on the far
[56:08] side. And the faceoff will result all
[56:11] the way back in Northfield's defensive
[56:13] zone. 950 to go.
[56:19] Raiders in maroon and gold.
[56:24] According to the Northfield website, the
[56:25] official color is not maroon. It's a
[56:28] version of plum.
[56:31] about that
[56:33] out of the corner
[56:35] that can be taken there. Gagelius
[56:38] low for Lloyd. Shot from a sharp angle
[56:40] out in front. Held on to by winter as
[56:43] East Dolar came on down and fired a
[56:46] couple of quick shots on and Winter held
[56:48] on.
[56:55] You really feel both teams starting to
[56:56] get those chances right now
[56:59] where those defenses are spreading.
[57:01] Obviously the one for the power play.
[57:04] You're out man in that situation, but
[57:05] you can really feel how the defenses are
[57:07] spreading giving teams more space.
[57:10] Certainly in those high danger areas.
[57:11] Amazing that the only one that has been
[57:14] scored. Maybe a testament to the
[57:15] strength of the goalending is the
[57:18] power play goal earlier on in the period
[57:20] by Vinnie Red.
[57:24] A turnover that was forced.
[57:27] >> Knocked to the corner. Riley couldn't
[57:30] hold the zone. It'll go back out to
[57:32] center. Miles Kennley will pick it
[57:33] there.
[57:36] Kenny into the zone to ring it around.
[57:40] Bothered by the play of Lua. Taken over
[57:43] Stewart. Stewart's shot harmlessly
[57:45] turned aside by the goalender.
[57:48] >> Kennaly withstand the check as did
[57:51] Pumper.
[57:53] And now it's tied up on the boards now
[57:55] towards the Zamboni doors and taken over
[57:57] by Henry Sampair.
[58:01] Hazel
[58:02] into the zone has that knocked off his
[58:04] stick a couple of times. Humper picks it
[58:07] up further ahead for Gilbertson into the
[58:08] zone. Gilbertson a shot wide left brings
[58:11] all the way back to the blue line and
[58:13] the whistle will blow and an extra shove
[58:16] after the fact. Now we'll see if
[58:18] anything comes of this. The net was
[58:20] knocked off.
[58:22] It's mooring behind Jackson Chzik
[58:26] and then after the play there was
[58:28] physicality and roughing call will be
[58:30] and you see it there on your screen
[58:34] Dellar and I'll get the official
[58:35] pronunciation here so I can stop
[58:37] annoying people with it. It'll be a
[58:40] second chance on the power play now for
[58:41] Northfield on the roughing minor at 837
[58:48] by null.
[58:51] Opportunity better than when you can
[58:53] take advantage of an unforced error by a
[58:55] team.
[59:03] And in the case of Deller,
[59:07] >> guess you can make the argument too that
[59:08] the whistle hadn't sounded yet or you
[59:10] hadn't heard the whistle more likely.
[59:12] But that's Bob that time. Discretion
[59:16] better part of Valor there.
[59:19] Peters on the power play now for
[59:21] Northfield. Their second of the game.
[59:24] Peters and the power play for Northfield
[59:27] ended because the penalty that was taken
[59:29] by Bridger Riley that led to the power
[59:31] play that Moni scored on in this period.
[59:36] So in the case of Northfield staying out
[59:37] of the box themselves will be pivotal
[59:39] here.
[59:41] Peters at the wall goes back for Simon.
[59:44] Simon te's it up off the post on the
[59:46] near side. Sins gathers, sends it back
[59:49] out and now continuing is Riker Dunar
[59:54] and there'll be a tripping minor that'll
[59:56] get called here.
[59:59] And who's headed to the box? It appears
[60:02] as though Jacob Peters ends
[60:05] two for tripping to Jacob Peters.
[60:10] That ends the Northfield power play for
[60:12] the second time tonight because of
[60:15] taking their own penalty.
[60:24] A little sigh of relief perhaps from
[60:26] Adabida. Face off in the zone for
[60:28] Northfield. He'll have to play defense.
[60:31] Lida take it down low. Will his Zephers
[60:35] O'Donnell
[60:36] O'Donnell right behind waiting for some
[60:38] pressure. Didn't come and now it does.
[60:40] Lida gathers it there from behind. Too
[60:44] far for O'Donnell. Riley got to it in
[60:46] the corner. Couldn't corral it. Sends it
[60:48] back behind out in front to the slot and
[60:50] an open net miss by Brock Gutterman.
[60:54] Lloyd at the blue
[60:56] leaves it O'Donnell. O'Donnell tried to
[60:58] spring the give and go. It's taken over
[61:00] now. Bridger Riley
[61:02] through neutralize Miles Kennaly. Kenny
[61:05] into the zone. Lost it. Schmidt gathers
[61:07] for the Raiders. Puts it back in. Riley
[61:10] shot blocker save made by Jezik.
[61:13] Gently working towards the slot. STEWART
[61:16] SCORES.
[61:18] MICHAEL STEWART HIS SEVENTH of the year.
[61:21] A fouron four goal. And the Raiders
[61:23] retake a two to one lead.
[61:29] And the player Deller was excused from
[61:32] the box. He should not have been. That
[61:34] was an even strength goal.
[61:38] >> Kenny out of the corner. Just a spin and
[61:40] a fire from Stewart.
[61:44] And after a four-point game against
[61:46] Newreg, make it now a fivegame point
[61:50] streak
[61:52] >> for the senior Michael Stewart
[61:59] and Northfield takes the two to one
[62:01] lead.
[62:05] how the officials are having a
[62:06] conversation with the Monamidi bench
[62:10] as the clock had been taken off. The
[62:12] time had been taken off. You see it on
[62:14] our screen. 24 seconds will remain of
[62:16] four time
[62:20] once that math is figured out. They put
[62:23] two minutes on.
[62:27] Well, now we know that's not correct.
[62:32] Michael Stewart, seventh goal of the
[62:34] season, 16th point.
[62:37] Zephers couldn't get the puck out of the
[62:38] zone. I think that's how it starts. But
[62:41] Kennaly, the sophomore, finds a senior
[62:43] and Stewart right in the slot.
[62:48] You can keep firing all you want and as
[62:51] a result that turns into two by two to
[62:53] one Raider lead.
[62:56] Well, the Monomina Zephers were the
[62:59] longtime state powers. Two two state
[63:01] championships in 2020 and 2023. It was
[63:05] always a question of
[63:07] not if Madame could get over the hump
[63:10] and get that state tournament title. It
[63:11] was just a question of when.
[63:15] Put 28 seconds on the clock in the
[63:17] penalty time for Desolar. That's a
[63:19] little longer than perhaps what it
[63:22] should be, but obviously we're the only
[63:24] ones here with TV access and replay
[63:27] access, so we'll keep that to ourselves.
[63:31] Severs put it down in low. Wrap around
[63:34] O'Donnell and another puck towards the
[63:37] goal. And Winter keeps the legs closed.
[63:42] >> Oh, point blank save by Gavin Winter.
[63:46] Wow.
[63:50] We've seen this wrap around a couple of
[63:52] times tonight by Deon O'Donnell
[63:55] and he tried to get it to fire. Will
[63:57] Severs was right there too and when
[64:00] Winter lost it, he just put that glove
[64:02] right behind. Closed the back door of
[64:04] the five hole.
[64:06] Was able to keep this a 2-1 Raider lead.
[64:11] 18 seconds of fouron four time
[64:15] >> on the faceoff win controlled by
[64:18] Mameidi. Still four on four. Sampair
[64:23] >> will walk shot that came from the blue
[64:27] line and Gutman cleared back out as far
[64:29] as center. Gutman is on it. Kenley is
[64:31] the first to it for Northfield.
[64:33] taking over. Henry Sampair, the future
[64:36] main Blackbear, tries the right side of
[64:39] the attacking zone. Zephr's back to full
[64:41] strength. Sampair looks it for first.
[64:46] Floyd looks to spring the trigger man in
[64:48] the bumper spot. Goes the corner. Simon
[64:53] fires around for Red Path. Red Path
[64:55] fighting for it with Riley. It's cleared
[64:58] out the opposite side. Well done by
[65:01] Northw to clear the zone.
[65:03] Jazz
[65:05] puts it for Gutman
[65:07] back to it. Vinnie Red path gathers
[65:09] there. 10 seconds now remaining on the
[65:11] power play abbreviated at that for
[65:14] Monita. Sampair
[65:17] Lida carries into the zone. Lida from
[65:21] the dot to try to center a pass as the
[65:24] Raiders return to full strength. Conman
[65:27] pushed it down in low into the corner
[65:30] for first.
[65:32] First knives his way through. First
[65:36] scrape his way back. First sprinting his
[65:39] way into the corner and then back out of
[65:41] it. Lloyd the shot hit off the end
[65:44] boards. Simon tapped it around to the
[65:47] near side. It's held in by Sampair.
[65:50] Red pen. Blue line for Lida. Lloyd
[65:58] will navigate his way low looking for
[66:00] some space. Simon will loft it back to
[66:04] center ice and the Zephers will reset
[66:06] there. Sam Pair chipped to him off the
[66:09] stick of Gutman and clear back out. Sam
[66:12] Pere will take it over further ahead.
[66:14] Zephers back into the zone.
[66:17] Benjamin
[66:19] on the puck for Northfield. got sent
[66:21] back through right out of the stick of
[66:24] Gag Nelius but
[66:26] take there and now cleared out down the
[66:28] length of the ice by North and icing is
[66:32] calm. 431 to go second period. Two to
[66:34] one is our score. Raiders goals by Sorum
[66:38] and Stewart and the power play goal by
[66:40] Vinnie Red Path. the scoring so far. And
[66:44] for as choppy as that first period was,
[66:47] the second period has been a lot more
[66:50] typical for what you expect between two
[66:52] teams in a top matchup, the top 10
[66:56] matchup here in class A.
[67:00] Northfield out of section one,
[67:02] out of section four.
[67:05] Gutman
[67:08] receivers with a pass out in front on
[67:10] the given goal. It's not connected with
[67:12] Gutman.
[67:15] Christian Whiteman is off sides into the
[67:18] zone. As a result of the offsides, this
[67:21] will be a faceoff at Neutraliz. 408 to
[67:25] go in period number two.
[67:29] Jacob Peters has goals in three straight
[67:32] for Northfield. career bests in goals
[67:34] and points for the Raiders.
[67:36] He has five goals, three and eight on
[67:39] the season.
[67:42] O'Donnell and Weber on the draw. Weber
[67:44] wins it back. Schmidt gathers for the
[67:46] Raiders.
[67:48] Pumper navigates to the defensive zone.
[67:52] Cleared it back for Dunar's possession
[67:54] at neutral. Man's efforts back into the
[67:57] zone. feel the amount of momentum that
[68:00] has sprung for both sides after the
[68:03] goals have been scored tonight.
[68:06] How the game has changed so frequently
[68:09] in the first seven minutes or so. Manita
[68:12] the better of team, the better of pace,
[68:14] the better of position.
[68:16] The goal by Storm really changed how
[68:18] they played as Zephers are off sides
[68:21] there.
[68:23] But that's kind of the dance that's gone
[68:25] on between these two teams tonight. Back
[68:26] and forth, back and forth, back and
[68:28] forth. Zephers at one point in this game
[68:30] had an eight to nothing shots on goal
[68:32] lead. Now 22 to 18
[68:38] faceoff neutral ice. Tommy Bo on for the
[68:41] Zephers over Benjamin wins it for
[68:44] Northfield.
[68:45] Benjamin tries to skate around Bo across
[68:50] in the corner.
[68:52] Philip Benjamin to gather there. Tommy
[68:55] Bow.
[68:57] Becker br a puck from the stick of Bow
[68:59] out in front for Benjamin. Becker tied
[69:02] up with the stick of Zins and Breeden
[69:05] first will spring it ahead for Vinnie
[69:07] Red Path. Red Path spins put a shot
[69:10] through hit off the skate of Sorum for
[69:13] Northfield and Red Path
[69:16] will move his edges back behind.
[69:19] Dunar
[69:21] battles with Benjamin in the corner.
[69:23] Rung around to the near side halfway
[69:26] and first looking for it back in space.
[69:29] Dunar shot through. Hit a redirection
[69:32] out in front. Red path and Simon for
[69:34] their respective teams were in the area.
[69:38] Zins
[69:42] able to free it now. Has it there. Zins.
[69:44] A shot blocked in front. Follow up. Oh,
[69:52] Zephers follow the puck. They tie it 22
[69:56] here in the second.
[70:08] It starts with a faceoff win in the
[70:10] corner
[70:13] and then that fight for it. Two on to a
[70:15] side. Zins holds it near side half wall.
[70:18] Waiting, waiting, waiting, waiting. The
[70:20] pass goes out in front and just enough
[70:25] of the persistence to get the puck
[70:28] towards the net resulting in the goal.
[70:30] We'll get the announcement, but the
[70:32] Zephers tie it at 22 here in the second
[70:36] period of play.
[70:42] >> Robertson
[70:46] Then down low for Pumper.
[70:48] It will be Tommy Bo who picks up the
[70:52] goal. That'll be his first co not
[70:54] collegiate, his first varsity goal. He
[70:56] had three assists
[70:59] in the game against Orino and now picks
[71:01] up his first goal.
[71:05] Lloyd escorted to the corner by Michael
[71:08] Stewart.
[71:10] Desar
[71:12] back out. slot. Short angle save by
[71:14] Winter and the Frecus that ensues will
[71:18] defuse and there'll be a face off in
[71:20] Northfield's end.
[71:23] >> There will be a chucka puck
[71:27] >> in about a minute and 45 seconds
[71:31] of game time. Shots on goal now. 2418
[71:35] in favor of Mameidi with a minute 45 to
[71:38] go.
[71:43] And it's the same kind of chances paid
[71:46] off for Mameidi tonight. Just keep
[71:48] peppering. Keep peppering.
[71:51] Take advantage. The goals for Northfield
[71:54] tonight have been opportunistic.
[71:57] A lot of to their effort has created
[72:00] opportunities of their own. Peters
[72:03] gathered it, had it, lost it. Taken over
[72:05] at center by Severs. Try to go into the
[72:07] zone. Kale Brummo brought it in. Zephers
[72:10] are offside with a minute and 22 to go.
[72:14] Well, the game that'll follow here
[72:15] tonight at St. Croy Valley Rec Center,
[72:18] Stillwater boys hockey against Rose
[72:20] Mountain.
[72:21] And that should be quite a good one
[72:24] indeed. Still Water one of the favorites
[72:25] certainly in section 4A. If there are
[72:29] any favorites that are not the Hill
[72:31] Murray Pioneers for that matter, Still
[72:33] Water certainly likes their chances as I
[72:35] would agree.
[72:36] Sampair run around to the far side.
[72:39] Brock Hutterman cleared as far as
[72:40] center. Will Sever try to put it ahead.
[72:42] Simman back to it for Northfield.
[72:44] Cleared back through neutral ice. Samp
[72:46] on in pursuit. Picks it up in his own
[72:47] defensive zone. Sam Pere trying to use
[72:50] net as a screen. Had to slow down.
[72:53] Cleared it back out as far at center.
[72:54] It's taken over by Schmidt for
[72:56] Northfield.
[72:58] Peters put it towards goal. Chzik had
[73:00] it. Keeps it alive so the Zephers can
[73:02] start a breakout. Cody Lena into the
[73:06] attacking zone. Lida leaves it left
[73:08] side. Gutterman shot and steered out of
[73:12] the play
[73:14] by Gavin Winter in a faceoff in
[73:16] Northfield's defensive zone. 40 seconds
[73:18] to go here in period number two. Our
[73:21] camera operators today, Ben Brandon,
[73:23] Christian Stoultzman, and our truck
[73:25] crew, David Skyler,
[73:27] Dave Cast, and Joe Sigourney.
[73:32] And certainly if Winter
[73:35] keeps holding on, that's kind of what
[73:37] he's had to do today.
[73:39] Riley with the Northfield Raider sends a
[73:42] shot on stung to the corner. It's taken
[73:45] back over by Cody Lida. Lida ahead has
[73:49] Bo with him. Lida tried to drop for Bo.
[73:52] Teld there by Red Path. Red Path into
[73:56] the corner. Lida shot through. hit off
[73:58] of Red Path in front looking to stuff it
[74:01] home on the near side and the whistle
[74:03] will blow as Gavin Winter held on for a
[74:06] faceoff.
[74:10] Gavin Winter, the senior. The other
[74:12] goalender on the roster for Northfield
[74:14] is Riker Landon, who played Bantam
[74:16] Hockey
[74:18] last season for Northfield.
[74:22] And Winter right now, the goals against
[74:24] average 196, save percentage 915.
[74:27] Exactly what we've gotten out of them
[74:29] tonight.
[74:32] If there's ever a time for the
[74:33] announcers Jinx to backfire, it is
[74:35] exactly there. Mameidi fires a shot off
[74:39] of a faceoff as time expires and the
[74:42] Zephers take a 3-2 lead with 7 seconds
[74:45] left to go.
[74:51] Clean faceoff win and just like the
[74:54] first Northfield goal, a shot from a
[74:57] long way out. Henry Serero will get it
[75:00] his second
[75:02] and they'll look for one more.
[75:05] driving in looking for a redirection
[75:07] held on to by winner.
[75:11] And just like the first goal for Walker
[75:13] Sorum, the goal for Henry Sampair, the
[75:16] main commit
[75:18] from the blue line from a sharp offc
[75:20] center angle
[75:23] just screened just high enough to find
[75:25] its way into the back of the net. The
[75:27] horn sounds
[75:32] and 10 seconds of game time ago, a 3-2
[75:35] Zephr lead at the end of two was well
[75:37] maybe to the casual fan out of the
[75:39] picture, but for those who know this
[75:41] team
[75:43] and know the skill and potential that
[75:45] they have. Well,
[75:48] >> it's just a normal day for the Monameidi
[75:50] blue and goal.
[75:53] >> Goals for the Zephers in the third
[75:55] period.
[75:59] at least in the second period rather.
[76:01] Red path.
[76:03] Boair.
[76:07] And after trailing one to nothing after
[76:09] one, the Zephers score three times in
[76:13] the second period. And they will lead
[76:15] after 34 minutes of play 3-2
[76:19] in a top 10 matchup of teams here in
[76:23] class A. There were a lot of highlights
[76:25] in period number two. We'll have stats
[76:27] and information and schedules for you
[76:28] coming up in our second intermission.

[81:01] Unless you're wearing the number 30, the
[81:04] general consensus around St. Croy Valley
[81:08] Ice Center is
[81:10] that's a lot better. That's more like
[81:12] it. Goals of plenty. Stewart the lone
[81:16] tally for Northfield. Sampair Red Path
[81:19] and Bo for the Mameidi Zephers. And
[81:22] after trailing one- nothing at the end
[81:24] of one period, Mameidi now leads by one
[81:26] 3-2 after 34 minutes of play at St. Croy
[81:30] Valley Rec Center in Stillwater. My name
[81:32] is Alex Westad. Our great crew here
[81:34] today in Stillwater has been treated to
[81:37] quite the game so far. All right, it
[81:39] started with 7 minutes of dominant ice
[81:42] time by the Mameidi Zephris where it
[81:44] felt like in that span a goal was going
[81:48] to arrive surely. But the second period
[81:50] proved to be the opposite. More of the
[81:52] back and forth flow that we were
[81:54] expecting to see. It started this power
[81:56] play goal from the bumper spot. Vinnie
[81:58] Red Path picks up his eighth of the
[82:00] season, but the Zephers were not done
[82:03] yet. They took the power play and rode
[82:05] that momentum going forward. A miscu
[82:08] though gives Northfield the lead.
[82:10] Kennley passes out in front to Stewart
[82:12] in the slot and Northfield took the two
[82:14] to one lead. Then this golden chance.
[82:17] O'Donnell with the wrap around. Stuffed
[82:19] by Winter on the last chance by Severs.
[82:22] It was this battle in the corner which
[82:24] turned to this rifle from Zim. Out
[82:27] followed up on by Ty Bo who picks up his
[82:30] first varsity goal. Tie the game at two.
[82:32] And then this seemingly harmless last
[82:35] second shot finds the back of the net.
[82:37] The frustration from Gavin Winter as
[82:39] Henry Sampair pots his second goal of
[82:42] the season, giving Modamei the 3-2 lead
[82:45] after two periods of play. Shots on goal
[82:48] still about where they were at the end
[82:50] of one period. The seven shot advantage
[82:53] for Mameidi. Scoring chances favored
[82:55] Mameidi in that period. Northfield, you
[82:58] saw the clunkiness start to rear its
[83:00] head again on the back half of that
[83:02] second period, but still really good
[83:04] chances on both sides. Power plays. One
[83:06] for two is Mameidi. Northfield 0 for two
[83:08] on the power play so far. Continuing
[83:11] their cold streak against Newreg where
[83:13] now they are one for their last eight on
[83:15] the power play. So a lot of time left
[83:18] but Mameidi taking the comfortable
[83:20] advantage into the locker room after 34
[83:23] minutes of play.
[83:27] 32 the score. Zephers in front of
[83:31] Northfield after 34 minutes of play.
[83:33] We'll be back for the third period in
[83:35] moments. You're on your home for boys
[83:37] hockey, the East Metro Community
[83:39] Channels TV 19.
[83:50] Mom,
[83:52] did you really need to buy two can
[83:53] openers for our emergency kit?
[83:56] >> I can't help it. They're two for one.
[84:00] everything.
[84:02] >> What's this?
[84:04] >> We need to keep our family communication
[84:05] plan safe in case of an emergency.
[84:08] >> Thanks, Da.
[84:13] >> Oh, man. Well, good thing we kept all
[84:16] the lights we used for the volley. I've
[84:18] got the battery pack.
[84:19] >> Keep my phone powered so we don't miss
[84:21] any alerts.
[84:23] >> What about game night?
[84:24] >> Sounds good.
[84:27] Oh, we have to get to mom and dad's and
[84:29] get them somewhere safe. I've got the
[84:31] evacuation route loaded on my phone.
[84:33] I've got an updated list of dad's meds,
[84:35] >> and I've got just what we need to get
[84:37] them to take this seriously.
[84:38] >> If that doesn't convince them that we
[84:39] thought this through, I don't know what
[84:41] would. Start a conversation with your
[84:43] family and plan together for
[84:45] emergencies.
[84:52] >> I'm a different kind of threat.
[84:59] I can't be scared away
[85:03] or negotiated with.
[85:07] >> You can't call the cops on me.
[85:10] >> Do you still want to hang out after?
[85:13] >> I don't want your money
[85:16] or your TV.
[85:20] >> What?
[85:24] I don't even have to break in.
[85:28] I'm invited.
[85:49] Self love made me a better dad because I
[85:52] realized my worth
[85:54] way you got to pray for yourself as well
[85:57] as for everybody else but never forget
[86:00] yourself. The word father means means a
[86:03] lot to me. When I give my love to my
[86:06] children as a father, I can see it.
[86:10] That's the benefit of of being a father
[86:12] is is seeing those smiling faces.
[86:23] I feel sometimes if that that I'm not
[86:26] listened to. I feel that uh I'm not
[86:29] getting the attention that I need and
[86:32] it's a lot built up in my chest. I would
[86:35] just want you to listen to me more often
[86:37] and evaluate situations with me and and
[86:41] lead me towards success.
[86:44] >> Listening is a form of love. Find ways

[86:51] There are a lot of temptations facing
[86:53] young people today, like electronic
[86:55] cigarettes and skateboarding. Each vape
[86:57] pod can contain the same amount of
[86:58] nicotine as a pack of cigarettes. This
[87:00] can lead today's youth to a lifelong
[87:02] addiction and severe lung damage. Recall
[87:05] and consider the facts before making a
[87:08] poor decision.
[87:09] >> The Health Class film guy isn't the best
[87:11] person to talk to your kid about vaping.
[87:13] >> Got a few minutes?
[87:14] >> You are. Start the conversation with
[87:17] your child about vaping today.
[87:20] >> When I came back from the war, I was
[87:22] barely hanging on by a thread. I'm here
[87:25] today because of Tanya's relentless
[87:27] efforts in trying to get me healed. And
[87:30] says, "Michael, I know you've got a plan
[87:32] to take your life today, but if you give
[87:33] me just five more minutes to love you,
[87:41] >> honey."
[87:43] Michael has actually taught me what it
[87:46] looks like to accept help.
[87:59] Some people judge a book by its cover
[88:02] and if you're not what people are
[88:04] looking for, you're kind of like a
[88:06] reject.
[88:12] At school, it feels like everyone's
[88:13] staring at me and I'm just kind of not
[88:15] really a person.
[88:18] >> Sometimes I can't believe that you could
[88:21] be proud of me if I'm not proud of
[88:22] myself.
[88:24] >> It just was hard today.
[88:27] Nobody was listening to me.
[88:29] >> Think of our best times together.
[88:32] Let's do more of that.
[88:35] >> You know, try to understand me more and
[88:38] I'll try to do the same.

[88:44] to support your kids at sounditout
[88:45] together.org.
[89:00] And we see him here listening the call
[89:01] of the Moni Zephers and he responded
[89:03] with a goal right now. The go-ahead goal
[89:06] for Monidai. to Zephers as we get ready
[89:09] to start the third period of play from
[89:11] the St. Croy Valley Rec Center. Alex
[89:13] Westad here high at top the ice at St.
[89:16] Croy Valley Rec Center. Our camera crew
[89:17] today, Ben Brandon and Christian
[89:19] Stoultzman in the truck, David Skyler,
[89:21] Dave Cast, and Joe Sigourney. The two
[89:24] teams after tonight will take very
[89:26] different routes to the end of the
[89:28] 202526
[89:30] regular season. Mameidi, much can be
[89:32] made by the naked eye of their record.
[89:34] 56 and two entering this one today.
[89:37] Northfield at 91 and 0. But for the
[89:39] Zephers, their schedule continues to get
[89:42] tough and will continue to be tough down
[89:45] the stretch here in the 2026 portion of
[89:48] their schedule. For the Zephers after
[89:50] tonight, four of the remaining games
[89:52] that they will have will be against
[89:54] unranked opponents. The rest all are. It
[89:57] starts on the next opportunity Thursday
[90:00] at number three Delano in class A. After
[90:03] that, they will return home here to
[90:06] another very good team, the St. Thomas
[90:08] Academy Cadets on January the 22nd.
[90:11] After that, they won't be home here
[90:12] again until the February 7th game
[90:14] against the Hastings Raiders, who right
[90:16] now is ahead of them in the class for a
[90:20] um QRF ranking in section 4. I almost
[90:23] called it the pair-wise. It's not quite
[90:24] the pairwise, but Manameidi will spend
[90:27] not just only the bulk of their schedule
[90:30] the rest of the way away from home, even
[90:32] the games they have at home. St. Thomas
[90:33] Academy Hastings, the one that's not on
[90:35] that graphic, they have home to St.
[90:37] Cloud Cathedral to conclude their
[90:39] regular season on February the 13th.
[90:41] That is no easy schedule for Mameidi
[90:44] down the stretch. Meanwhile, for
[90:46] Northfield, they will play just two
[90:47] games against ranked opposition the rest
[90:49] of the way in 2026.
[90:53] They will return home down in Northfield
[90:55] on Thursday against Rochester Century
[90:57] and John Marshall. Then they'll
[90:59] basically tag team home and away. Home
[91:01] and away the rest of the way down the
[91:03] stretch. Their remaining ranked games
[91:07] January the 22nd at number 10 Breck at
[91:10] the Bre School Anderson Ice Arena in
[91:12] Golden Valley and then their regular
[91:13] season finale at Delano on Saturday,
[91:17] February the 14th. So, the Raiders right
[91:19] now figure to be a player in the Big
[91:21] Nine Conference. They're third of the
[91:23] teams in the Big Nine right now, but
[91:26] they too with state tournament
[91:28] aspirations out of section one. There's
[91:30] a lot to look at and a lot to look
[91:32] towards moving into the rest of this
[91:35] game here today.
[91:40] Raiders after two when they are trailing
[91:44] this season are 1 and one. Monominai
[91:49] when leading after two are 40 and one.
[91:56] If you're a fan of boys high school
[91:58] hockey in the state of Minnesota and you
[92:00] haven't learned, no matter the record,
[92:02] no matter the situation,
[92:04] Modina not just can beat you at any
[92:06] time, they will beat you at any time.
[92:11] Oh, might be time to pick up the old pen
[92:12] and paper. Huh.
[92:15] Gavin Winter has stopped 22 of 25
[92:21] shots faced tonight for the Northfield
[92:23] Raiders. made 40 saves on 42 last year
[92:27] in the consolation round at 3M Arena at
[92:30] Maruchi.
[92:34] Riker Dunar with goals in two straight
[92:36] home games. Like to make it three. Let's
[92:38] see if he does immediately. Face off
[92:41] sent back in. Good body play made by
[92:44] Ashton Pumper. Denies a chance the other
[92:47] way. Riley put further ahead for Becker
[92:51] into the zone. Northfield looking for
[92:53] the equalizer and Zack Zins will run it
[92:56] out of play. The whistle will blow and
[92:58] the goalender Jackson Chzik will hold on
[93:01] for a faceoff. 1640 to go. Chzik 17
[93:05] saves on 19 shots
[93:08] for Mameidi tonight. Remember with a win
[93:10] tonight, Chzik will pick up his 10th win
[93:13] of the season. Been Chzik the majority
[93:16] of the way for Manameidi. The other
[93:17] goalender, Nico Fuberty, has played just
[93:19] 7 minutes of game time in a 4-1 win
[93:22] against Two Rivers.
[93:24] Pumper
[93:25] Riley now for Becker. Becker spins it
[93:28] around. Benjamin tried to pick it, get
[93:30] it to his brother Benjamin. Benjamin
[93:33] will gather it back up at center over
[93:35] the head of Pumper. Zins fanned on it on
[93:37] the sticky ice after the resurface and
[93:40] it's taken out of the corner by Oliver
[93:41] Benjamin. Pumper knocked down with a
[93:44] skate. try to go right side looking for
[93:46] Philip Benjamin. Back into the zone it
[93:48] goes Kaden Gagnelius
[93:51] spins for Zins. Dunar
[93:55] through neutral. Dunar
[93:58] back to the near side off the stick.
[94:00] Blake Moa has to pick it up and send it
[94:02] in. Winter will knock it down. Stopping
[94:04] it behind Ashton Pumper
[94:07] for Michael Stewart. Stewart the last
[94:09] Northfield goal. puts a shot on. Held on
[94:12] to by Chzik as the shot forced him back
[94:15] to an awkward angle.
[94:18] The senior holds on for the faceoff.
[94:22] Chzik on the season 333 goals against
[94:26] average 909 save percentage. Stewart on
[94:29] the faceoff posed by Deon O'Donnell.
[94:33] Sorum try to gather at the blue line
[94:35] with the bouncing puck had to be
[94:36] recontrolled. It's taken over by Vinnie
[94:39] Red pass further ahead. Cody Lida into
[94:42] the zone. Lya backhanded shot on. Saved
[94:44] by Winter. Lida into the corner. Tries
[94:48] to find somewhere to go with it. A
[94:49] backhanded pass intercepted by Stewart
[94:51] and reintercepted by Manamed and Vinnie
[94:53] Red Path. Out for Lida, but a stick lift
[94:55] was issued illegally. So, and the
[94:58] Zephers heading to the power play after
[95:00] the hooking minor to be assessed here at
[95:02] 145.
[95:07] It'll be Walker Sorum to the penalty
[95:09] box. Two for hooking 145
[95:12] and the Raider who scored first tonight
[95:14] for Northfield will sit in the penalty
[95:16] box as Monomidi will get their first
[95:18] full power play of the game. They're one
[95:22] for two on power plays, but each of
[95:24] those abbreviated.
[95:28] Lloyd back behind as the Raiders able to
[95:30] clear the puck out the zone on the
[95:32] first. Sampair Gutman puts it further
[95:36] ahead for first into the zone. First off
[95:40] on the stick of Brley taken all the way
[95:42] to the boards. Peters try to gather it
[95:44] and it's held in at the blue line by
[95:46] Lloyd. Peters try to recontrol for
[95:48] Northfield and back down it goes. Gutman
[95:51] into the slot. Shot through. Hit off the
[95:54] stick and cleared all the way back out
[95:56] by Carter Simon. At least as far as a
[95:58] blue line. This one's held in there to
[96:01] the blue line. receivers. Gottman teed
[96:04] up a drive. Saved by Winter. Weber
[96:06] clears it to the blue line and out, but
[96:08] lost his stick for his efforts. Sampair
[96:11] quickly with speed back into the zone.
[96:12] Here's Sampair.
[96:14] He'll ring around to the far side of the
[96:16] net. Sampair rings it back behind. First
[96:20] to it. Trevor Rogasheski.
[96:23] Dunar down in low taken by Simon. Tried
[96:26] to clear out and did. It's gathered up
[96:29] at center by Zack Zims.
[96:33] Severs looking for the redirection out
[96:35] in front by Rogasheski. Good set, but
[96:37] the pass just a little ahead of the
[96:40] junior forward from Adamea. He'll tie up
[96:42] on the half wall. Simon to get to it for
[96:45] Northfield Raiders. Kennaly gathers,
[96:47] clears it down the length of the ice
[96:49] with 30 seconds remaining on this Zephr
[96:51] power play.
[96:54] Chzik sends it further ahead. A
[96:56] one-touch pass. Rogashesky to Severs.
[96:58] Severs to drop for O'Donnell. back off
[97:01] the side of the net. Smith to it for
[97:03] Northfield but couldn't clear the zone.
[97:05] Losses stick to Rogashesky allowing
[97:07] Northfield to clear it back out down the
[97:08] length of the ice and back into the
[97:10] Zephr defensive zone with 9 seconds
[97:12] remaining on this power play.
[97:15] Riker Dunar across the line to the right
[97:18] side. Dunar cutting in, dropped it off,
[97:20] tried to fire a shot on out in front.
[97:23] Believe that was Brock Gutman who tried
[97:25] to get it on goal but did not quite do
[97:27] so. And the Raiders return to full
[97:29] strength. Blake Lloyd put it down and
[97:32] low for Rogasheski. Pass back out
[97:34] through the slot. Taken over by Charlie
[97:36] Becker. Becker for the Raiders in the
[97:40] neutral zone. And reset further ahead
[97:42] for Oliver Benjamin. Schmid sent back in
[97:46] by Philip Benjamin. Stop behind by
[97:48] Jackson. Chzik.
[97:50] Puck rung around. Lida. Two on two now
[97:53] for the Zephers. O'Donnell takes it out
[97:56] to the right side around Pumper. Pumper
[97:58] played the body. The eye on the referee
[98:00] will stay down as Pumper and Oddonnell
[98:03] still fighting for possession. O'Donnell
[98:06] tried to pass out in front looking for
[98:07] Lloyd in the slot. Here goes Philip
[98:09] Benjamin on the rush the other way as
[98:11] the Raiders will change lines. Benjamin
[98:13] tried to pull it back but was cut down.
[98:15] Sam Perry will keep it alive for
[98:16] Mameita. Bung high off the glass. Riley
[98:20] will collide with Desolar.
[98:24] And the Moniers reset through neutral.
[98:27] Riley up ahead looking for Peters.
[98:30] Raiders on side. Sampair brings around
[98:34] as stopped it behind. Weber gather it
[98:37] out of the corner. This goes back to the
[98:39] blue line for Carter Simons. Sent
[98:41] through and held on to by the goalender
[98:43] Jackson Chzik who holds on for a
[98:46] faceoff.
[98:50] Northfield, the first of a handful of
[98:52] games to start tonight. Bamiji and Duth
[98:54] East at Heritage Arena on the west side
[98:56] of Duth also started at 5:00 p.m. today.
[99:00] Otherwise, elsewhere, games that started
[99:02] at the 6:00 hour we'll get to in a
[99:04] minute, but was hosted by International
[99:07] Falls, Deer Creek, Morris Benson area,
[99:09] and Kitson County Central. Red Lake
[99:11] Falls leading Kitson County Central four
[99:13] to nothing.
[99:16] Off to the far side, Braden first.
[99:19] The ball pass behind the intended
[99:21] receiver. Weber will gain the red line
[99:23] and dump it back in. Trevor Rogasheski
[99:28] to the left side. Put further ahead.
[99:31] Gutterman had a good pass at first. Lost
[99:34] his feet and Whiteitman tried to carry
[99:36] it back. Now Simon has it. A two-on-one
[99:38] for the Raiders. Simon has Peters with
[99:40] them. Passed it out in front. Peters had
[99:43] the pass in his skates and it was
[99:45] controlled well. Great defense by
[99:46] Rogashesky.
[99:48] Simon teed up a drive into the glove of
[99:50] Jackson Chzik who holds on for the face
[99:53] off.
[99:56] Other games going on tonight at Hastings
[99:59] the United Heroes League rink. Hastings
[100:01] in South St. Paul in Metro East play.
[100:05] Opportunistic Northfield. That's how
[100:08] both the goals have happened so far
[100:09] tonight for the Raiders.
[100:13] Look for another such opportunity here.
[100:18] >> Stewart bumper unable to handle it.
[100:20] Knocked off the puck. Looks to start the
[100:22] breakout. Gagnelius through the other
[100:24] way
[100:26] and Northfield will carry it into the
[100:27] zone.
[100:30] Zins try to go back out. Pumper will
[100:33] regain it center. Dumps it to the far
[100:34] side corner. Dunar on it. He'll pick it
[100:38] up there. to wait for the breakout to
[100:41] begin. Zack Zins
[100:45] taken back over Desolar into the zone. A
[100:48] shot through off the stick of Boya
[100:50] blocked by the skates. A pump
[100:53] and low pass behind off to the far side
[100:57] is on. Walker Storm was there first for
[100:59] Northfield.
[101:00] Tie back up onto the far side. Sorum.
[101:04] Sorum brings it around. Gilbertson tries
[101:07] to get the goal going for Northfield,
[101:10] but the pass just a little bit fanned on
[101:13] enough for Moni to send it back into the
[101:15] zone. Gavin Winter Gilbertson try to
[101:18] send it out. Stopped by Red Path. Pumper
[101:21] will regain for Northfield. He's looking
[101:23] for Sorrel. Lost
[101:27] around the edges of the boards. Back off
[101:30] to the far side. Deon O'Donnell. Red
[101:32] path sends it back through. receivers
[101:35] out of the corner pass that hit the
[101:37] skate of Stewart and the Zephers much
[101:40] like they did in the opening part of
[101:41] period number one have taken control of
[101:43] the pace of this game and have been
[101:46] dominating with possession and
[101:49] offensive zone time.
[101:51] Oddonnell
[101:54] is knocked off his stick there by
[101:56] Stewart.
[101:58] Stewart looks to try to find the pass
[102:00] was behind Riley. That allows Sampair to
[102:02] take over. This pass intended for Red
[102:04] Path goes down the length of the ice and
[102:06] icing is called. 911 to go in period
[102:10] number three. 3-2 the score. Mameidi
[102:13] over Northfield. Games upcoming tonight
[102:15] at the 7:00 hour
[102:18] in terms of what is to be hosted by
[102:21] schools in the region. OIO's now in
[102:23] section 4A. They host Southwest
[102:25] Christian and Richfield up in OIO.
[102:29] Otherwise elsewhere, games of note,
[102:31] Still Water and Rosemont will be taking
[102:32] place here following the conclusion of
[102:34] this game here between Lameita and
[102:37] Northfield. That'll be a good one
[102:38] certainly.
[102:40] Elsewhere, other games that are going on
[102:42] tonight in Prairie Manil St. Margarets.
[102:44] That's another good one. Wrap around out
[102:46] front looking for the stuff back door.
[102:47] It's taken back over on the other side.
[102:49] Hill Murray gets Prior Lake at Aldrich
[102:51] Arena tonight. That's a 700 p.m. puck
[102:54] drop there and a postponement. Becker
[102:55] big lake. It's offens
[102:59] too. That's
[103:02] on the far side. Becker will gather.
[103:05] He'll dump it in. Philip Benjamin picked
[103:09] it up in the corner. Trying to get it
[103:11] going there. Reathered by Henry Sampair.
[103:14] Zephers look to carry back into the
[103:15] attacking zone. Braden first. First
[103:18] along the goal line will cut it back.
[103:20] first looks for the pass through the
[103:22] slot. Lifted it high over the net did
[103:23] Brock Gutman. This puck will find its
[103:26] way back to center for Trevor Rogasheski
[103:30] with a saucer pass for first. Held in by
[103:32] Whiteitman.
[103:34] Peters shot angle but enough to be held
[103:37] on to by Jackson Chzik as he'll get
[103:40] another face off in the Mameidi
[103:41] defensive zone. 8 minutes to go in
[103:44] regulation time. 32 the score between
[103:48] Madamei and Northfield. Saom got the
[103:51] scoring started. It was tied up by
[103:55] Vinnie Red Path on the power play.
[103:56] Michael Stewart put Northfield back
[103:58] ahead. Tommy Bo tied it with his first
[104:01] varsity goal and Henry Sampair inside of
[104:04] 10 seconds to go in the second period
[104:07] has given Mamedi the 3-2 lead to which
[104:09] they've held on to. Weber dumped in.
[104:12] Rogashesky in pursuit. used the net
[104:15] behind to start the breakout from Monita
[104:18] Rogasheski for Lloyd. First one two and
[104:22] a pump for Northfield.
[104:25] Jacob Peters this one back through
[104:28] center. Desolar left it for Kale Brummel
[104:32] who tried to play it. Gagnelius try to
[104:34] get it into the attacking zone, but it
[104:36] COMES TO A STOP right on the blue line
[104:39] of the defensive zone for Northfield.
[104:41] Blake Lloyd
[104:44] Deon O'Donnell
[104:46] gains a red line, cross it to the
[104:48] corner. The assistance of the stick for
[104:50] Northfield and puts it there. Something
[104:51] on the ice. It's not perhaps supposed to
[104:55] be there as play will continue.
[104:59] Balked his way out to the front. Big
[105:01] collision there as Dunar levels Miles
[105:03] Kinoy.
[105:08] Zack Zins knocked it out there and we're
[105:11] seeing some physicality start to ramp up
[105:13] between these two teams, Mama and
[105:15] Northfield.
[105:18] And there'll be a faceoff at Neutralize.
[105:21] It started with a big collision in the
[105:24] defensive zone for
[105:29] a lot of mei at first I think. See if we
[105:32] can't take a look at it. Not so much
[105:34] there but right there. Riger Dunar
[105:37] laying the lumber on Miles Kennley.
[105:41] We'll see how that might leak over.
[105:44] Shot attempt on by Bridgetger Riley.
[105:47] That went right
[105:49] wide to the right of the goalender. Got
[105:51] the glove on it. Holds on for a faceoff
[105:54] in the Zephr zone again for Northfield.
[105:59] Not a section game, not a conference
[106:00] game. Northfield of the Big Nine.
[106:03] They're 2 and0 on the season. Mameda out
[106:04] of the Metro East. They're 10 and2.
[106:07] This face off to the left of Chzik. One
[106:10] by Mameita.
[106:14] Sends it neutral. put it back into the
[106:16] northfield end pass Kennley. This one
[106:18] goes along the length of the ice and
[106:20] back into the Raider defensive zone and
[106:23] icing will be called here.
[106:28] >> Shots on goal. 2723.
[106:32] Not too far off from where we were at
[106:34] the end of the second period of play.
[106:37] Aidi true to their form content to
[106:40] possess, content to limit opportunities
[106:42] on the other side. So far, that's what
[106:44] they've been doing this evening.
[106:52] Whistle hit blown. Oddonnell escorted
[106:55] from the faceoff dot. Severs replace
[106:58] him. Faceoff win by Northfield. Schmid
[107:00] will look to carry it back out. Schmidt
[107:02] long in the stands here at St. Croy
[107:05] Valley Rec Center. Ran a faceoff at
[107:08] Neutral Ice. Becomes a faceoff in
[107:11] the defensive zone. They're circling is
[107:13] the officiating crew today. Where will
[107:16] the faceoff be waiting for the puck
[107:19] and it'll go into the defensive zone of
[107:21] the Northfield Raiders for a faceoff
[107:24] with 618 left to go.
[107:27] Again, Mameidi upcoming schedule after
[107:29] today. Their next four games will all be
[107:31] on the road at Delano, at Tartan, Holy
[107:33] Angels, and South St. Paul. The upcoming
[107:35] schedule for the Mamedai's efforts.
[107:39] Becker brings it behind. Pumper is able
[107:41] to get to it there for Northfield.
[107:43] Pumper looks to start the breakout for
[107:45] Benjamin.
[107:47] Left wing look for Charlie Becker. This
[107:49] one's run back behind. Benjamin provides
[107:51] a check to try to separate player from
[107:53] Puck.
[107:55] And now Monomidi will carry it back the
[107:57] other way. Brock Gutterman into the
[107:59] zone. Got
[108:01] one man but couldn't get around the
[108:03] second. Cody Loto will send it towards
[108:05] him. Took an awkward bounce. Gavin
[108:07] Winter didn't hold on to it the way he
[108:09] wanted to.
[108:10] Levi Schmidt taking back over Henry
[108:12] Sampair into the attacking zone goes
[108:15] Brock Gutman. This one's knocked into
[108:17] the corner. Good stick lift. Denies the
[108:19] opportunity for Braden first. This comes
[108:21] back here for Benjamin. Decided to break
[108:24] out for Northfield.
[108:26] Philip Benjamin
[108:28] had it into the attacking zone. Was
[108:30] taken back over though by Brock
[108:31] Gutterman for Madame. Gutterman was in
[108:33] on side. Turn the puck over. He'll be
[108:35] the first to get to it though in the
[108:37] corner for Brain. first back to the blue
[108:40] line. Rogasheski
[108:42] waited for something and instead chose
[108:44] to make the smart decision and just put
[108:46] it down in low. Peters
[108:49] to start the breakout. Peters will go
[108:52] back to the far side. Pass was behind
[108:54] Riley, but he's able to gather it. He'll
[108:55] send it towards goal
[108:59] on the break. SHOT THREW OFF THE POST ON
[109:01] THE RIGHT SIDE. NO GOAL.
[109:06] ST. Croy Valley Rec Center thinks gold,
[109:08] but I say no.
[109:19] >> On a first look, a live look, it did not
[109:22] look like the puck was in the back of
[109:24] the net. Let's see on a second.
[109:27] >> I would agree. No goal.
[109:40] The officials converse. They agree.
[109:46] And the faceoff will be to the right of
[109:49] Gavin Winter.
[109:52] And now Jeff Posial getting an
[109:53] explanation from the official as well.
[109:58] But the entire crowd here at St. Croy
[110:00] Valley Rec Center. Font goal. We'll get
[110:04] another look at it. Second chance we
[110:06] get.
[110:08] Oddonnell
[110:10] takes it back here now. How lumal that
[110:12] large the last 5 minutes of this game.
[110:15] Whiteman taken by Peters. Peters into
[110:19] the zone had a shot from the sharp angle
[110:22] in and out of the glove of Chzik. Taken
[110:23] back over now by Manita. Trevor
[110:26] Rogasheski goes further ahead. Devin
[110:28] O'Donnell into the zone. Oddonnell one
[110:31] toe drag around another. Put a pass back
[110:33] out in front. Riley first to it for
[110:35] Northfield. And the puck almost held
[110:37] into the zone. Now threeon-one for the
[110:38] Raiders into the attacking zone.
[110:40] Whiteitman shot into the glove of the
[110:44] goalender Chzik. And now these two teams
[110:47] will exchange pleasantries
[110:50] in the defensive zone.
[111:01] Oddman rushes tonight for Northfield.
[111:04] Often time they've chosen to hold on to
[111:06] the puck instead of shoot. That time the
[111:09] right decision by Whiteitman to shoot.
[111:12] But the goalender Chzik was ready.
[111:18] Face off to the right of Jackson Chzik.
[111:24] 418 to go in regulation time.
[111:28] Whistle
[111:30] >> and Blake Lida will be excused from the
[111:32] dot.
[111:36] Stewart on the faceoff for Northfield.
[111:39] This time it'll be Yagnelius who will
[111:41] join him there.
[111:44] Imagine in terms of game management, an
[111:46] official not likely to call a penalty,
[111:49] barring the obvious here in a one-goal
[111:51] game in the last four minutes of game
[111:53] time. Pumper ahead for Stewart. Stewart
[111:58] withtood a check and possession. Kenny
[112:00] reathers at center and will dump it
[112:02] towards a man goal and Jackson Chzik.
[112:05] Zack Zins knocked off the stick of Wade
[112:08] Gilbertson as Northfield will attempt to
[112:11] clear the zone. Dunbach for the Zephers
[112:15] back behind.
[112:17] It's gathered by Zins as he'll start the
[112:20] breakout off the glass up ahead for
[112:23] Pumper. Shot on and the last time Gavin
[112:27] Winter touched the puck. Perhaps a
[112:29] moment of controversy.
[112:31] And now a face off in the zone. Here it
[112:35] is again
[112:37] from a little bit closer of an angle.
[112:39] The backhand by Severs.
[112:44] And let's see
[112:47] where DOES IT TOUCH. OH, THAT IS A GOAL.
[112:54] It's tough to tell without the top down,
[112:59] but he can definitely see where the puck
[113:01] is inside of the red bar
[113:04] as this one goes into the glass here.
[113:07] But you can definitely see where the
[113:09] puck is inside of the bar. Maybe inside
[113:13] of the net, but without that top down,
[113:16] that's so tough. One more time here by
[113:19] Severs.
[113:21] And you can see right there
[113:25] off the post.
[113:32] Oh, so close.
[113:34] So close indeed. But for the time being,
[113:37] no goal. Barring the top down, that may
[113:40] be the only call we get.
[113:42] Sampair gathers, sends it on goal
[113:45] towards Gavin Winter. Riley picks it up.
[113:49] Three gathered by Levi Schmidt for
[113:52] Northfield. And Bridgetger Riley gathers
[113:54] here. This one back down the length of
[113:56] the ice. Race for it is on. And a spin
[113:58] move was thrown on for why. Ah, whistle
[114:01] will blow
[114:04] and a little bit of an awkward entry
[114:05] into the zone. There was a player Sam
[114:07] Pere
[114:09] on the screen there as Charlie Becker
[114:12] had to do a little bit of an acrobatic
[114:13] spin move to try to get out of the way
[114:15] and stay on side
[114:17] with a good look chance there. But
[114:19] either way, a face off back in
[114:20] Northfield's defensive zone. 302 to go
[114:23] here in regulation time.
[114:26] Face off to the left of Winter. Second
[114:28] chances on and a save made by Winter. He
[114:31] holds on for the faceoff. Vinnie Red
[114:34] Path looking for a second tonight.
[114:42] That's a great faceoff play by Monita.
[114:46] Win the faceoff as O'Donnell did. Red
[114:48] path goes right to the net to follow it
[114:50] there. Welldesigned faceoff play by the
[114:53] Zephers
[114:55] receivers
[114:57] and Rumble rolls it around. We'll go
[115:00] back to the near side here for Jacob
[115:02] Peters. Peters long down the length of
[115:04] the ice. The effort was made to try to
[115:06] get to it by Rogasheski.
[115:08] But either way, it'll be icing in a face
[115:10] off back in Northfield's end. 243 to go.
[115:14] And for Charlie Cloud, head coach of
[115:15] Northfield, his first year, thinking
[115:17] about at what point does Gavin Winter
[115:20] navigate towards the bench, one goal in
[115:23] the first period, five total after two.
[115:29] Face off one by Northfield. Pumper back
[115:32] into the Mamedai zone. Race for the puck
[115:34] is on and frozen by
[115:35] >> Chziki
[115:37] following
[115:39] >> and there'll be a faceoff
[115:42] >> in Manida's defensive zone. You can
[115:44] think about pulling Winter now.
[115:48] Problem is that's a difficult
[115:49] conversation to have.
[115:52] Face off to left of Chzik Stewart tied
[115:55] up his man. Peters had first stick on
[115:58] it. Brumble for the Zephers. Out muscles
[116:00] his man. spun around to the near side
[116:02] for Rogasheski.
[116:05] Back as far as center icing is waved off
[116:07] off of a redirection. Ashen Pumper will
[116:10] have to go back to get to this and lost
[116:11] his stick in the Zamboni doors. Pumper
[116:14] uses the body well to try to keep play
[116:16] alive for Northfield. That stick is
[116:18] lodged in between the crack of the
[116:20] Zamboni doors.
[116:24] Back into the corner it goes here in the
[116:25] Moni defensive end. Kenny gathers, walks
[116:29] to the slot, fired a shot through, was
[116:31] looking for the redirection. One of the
[116:33] first two at for Manita is Deselar.
[116:36] Riley with a shot to the opposite
[116:38] corner. Simon try to chip it back in.
[116:41] Zephers will take it back out through
[116:42] center. Desolar in. Drops it for
[116:45] Gagelius. Shot on. Save made by Winter.
[116:49] And it comes back to the near side
[116:50] corner. Kenny with a check and he will
[116:54] have to withstand. Zins back into the
[116:56] zone. dumped in to the Northfield end
[117:00] onto the puck is first. First will tie
[117:03] up. The official has the stick now and
[117:06] Northfield will look to try to clear it
[117:07] back out. Here's Kennaly tries to get
[117:09] around one man. Kenny lost his edge. Was
[117:12] able to stay on his feet for Stafford
[117:15] into the corner. Stewart
[117:18] was able to locate it there but put back
[117:20] out for Kenny. The goalie is gone.
[117:22] Winter to the bench. Extra attacker is
[117:23] on and this will be held on to by Chzik
[117:26] as the Raiders will play with six on
[117:28] five for the m last minute and six of
[117:31] regulation time
[117:33] and as a result with a face off in
[117:36] Monamisen timeout will be taken by
[117:39] Northfield with a minute and six to go
[117:41] here in regulation time. Well, if you've
[117:44] enjoyed today's broadcast of high school
[117:46] boys hockey on Suburban Community
[117:48] Channels TV19, there's a lot more coming
[117:50] up in the month of January and February
[117:53] in High School Hockey here in Suburban
[117:56] Community Channels TV9. It's a great
[117:59] schedule. Hopefully, you'll be able to
[118:00] join us for some of it. After tonight,
[118:03] we'll be at girls basketball on Friday
[118:05] as Suburban East Conference match up.
[118:06] Still Water takes on White Bear Lake at
[118:08] 7 p.m. Boys basketball next week as well
[118:10] at White Bear Lake. Roseville against
[118:12] the Bears. girls basketball, Two Rivers
[118:14] and Monita in Metro East play Friday,
[118:16] January the 16th, the holiday weekend at
[118:19] 6:30 p.m. for a tip off of that one.
[118:24] The Manameai Zephers,
[118:27] as a nickname, have long been attributed
[118:29] to the Minnesota Zephyr train
[118:34] that ran in the Stillwater River Valley
[118:37] for a long time. That is one opinion of
[118:40] the name of the Mamemida Zephers. The
[118:42] other it's debated by local historians.
[118:45] Local history suggests that the car the
[118:48] Lincoln Zephyr became popular during its
[118:50] short lifetime, especially in the White
[118:53] Bear Lake area, and it was an alleged
[118:56] clever idea from students at the then
[118:58] Lincoln Town High to use the car and its
[119:01] name as a symbol for strength and speed.
[119:05] Lincoln Town High was renamed to
[119:07] represent the Moni Monidi area instead
[119:09] of just the location where the high
[119:10] school was located. The name Zephr stuck
[119:13] even though the Minnesota Zephr never
[119:16] actually ran through the city of Mameda.
[119:20] So, what do you prefer? The train or the
[119:23] car?
[119:25] Whatever mode of transportation floats
[119:27] your fancy, I guess. Face off in the
[119:30] Monomeid zone
[119:32] was rung around back to the far side
[119:35] more ferociously
[119:37] and still on those end boards inside a
[119:40] minute to go here in regulation time.
[119:43] Stewart is the closest to the puck for
[119:46] Northfield. He's trying to fight for it
[119:47] away with Peters. One back by Kenny for
[119:50] Northfield and back to the corner. This
[119:52] puck goes for Northfield. This one back
[119:54] down the length of the ice. Down it will
[119:56] go over the goal line. Icing will be
[119:58] called. 37.3 seconds left to go.
[120:04] Jeff Polial sitting on a timeout. Will
[120:07] he choose to use it? It appears as
[120:10] though not for now.
[120:15] Face off to the right of Chzik.
[120:17] 37.3 to go in counting.
[120:22] Benjamin put behind for Kennley. Has
[120:24] Riley open on the dot. Pass too long for
[120:27] Riley. This goes back into the zone.
[120:29] Race for the puck is on. First to it for
[120:31] the Zephers is first at first. Lost it
[120:34] to Pumper. Net is off.
[120:36] And with the net off, 18.7 to go
[120:40] officially. This will force a faceoff in
[120:44] Northfield's end. The goalie Winter will
[120:46] have to return.
[120:49] And a large and pivotal faceoff in the
[120:52] game in Northfield's end.
[120:56] Winter will have the face off to his
[120:58] right
[121:02] >> after the win by Riley. This one goes
[121:04] into the bleachers and
[121:08] faceoff will result back in Northfield's
[121:10] end. It's just 2.3 seconds elapsed off
[121:14] the clock
[121:17] and this faceoff will be to the right.
[121:24] after the tie up. Back to the puck and
[121:27] on Stewart. Northfield running out of
[121:30] time. Taken back over to the corner.
[121:32] Lloyd will have it. He'll dump it back
[121:34] in. This goes into the Zephr bench.
[121:36] Northfield arguing that the faceoff
[121:38] should be in the Zephr defensive zone.
[121:40] That may be the argument that works
[121:43] as a faceoff will be indeed to the right
[121:46] of the goalender Jackson Chzik with 3.2
[121:49] seconds left to go.
[121:51] The net will be empty again
[121:55] and the options for Northfield here
[121:56] limited. But as we saw on the Sampair
[122:00] goal that stands now is the game winner
[122:04] may be just enough. Off the face off
[122:07] tied up by Mamemidi. The horn will sound
[122:12] and a top 10 till tonight in Stillwater
[122:16] does not disappoint.
[122:19] Northfield scores first. And the Zephers
[122:22] pull level and score last to hold on to
[122:26] a win three-2
[122:29] over the seventh ranked Northfield
[122:31] Raiders here tonight. Back and forth
[122:35] they went all night long. Zephers the
[122:38] dominant seven minutes to begin the
[122:40] game. And you sat there wondering at
[122:42] what point would the Levy break? For
[122:44] Northfield it never really did. But for
[122:46] Madameidi, the right shooters in the
[122:49] right moment at the right time, enough
[122:51] to put Mameidi over Northfield tonight,
[122:55] avenging their consolation tournament
[122:57] semifinal loss from a year ago and
[123:00] continuing Mameidi's winning ways in
[123:03] 2026.
[123:05] For his efforts, they improved to 66 and
[123:07] two on the season. Jeff Poshel, the head
[123:09] coach, is happy. Charlie Cloud probably
[123:12] likes part of what he saw from his team
[123:14] tonight, but looking for more of that in
[123:16] the days to come for Northfield. Their
[123:18] next game will be on Thursday against
[123:20] Rochester Century. With the win tonight,
[123:23] Jackson Chzik picks up win number 10 on
[123:25] his career as a high school goalender
[123:28] for Monamita. He has continued to be the
[123:30] rock in goal for the Zephers this season
[123:32] and certainly will look to be so as well
[123:35] in a now very competitive section 4 in
[123:39] class A.
[123:41] Took a while for the goals to get going,
[123:42] but the goalenders ultimately were the
[123:44] stars of the show tonight
[123:48] as Walker Storm started the scoring for
[123:51] Northfield. Zephers would add one on the
[123:53] power. Vinnie Red Path picks up his
[123:55] eighth of the season. They tied it at
[123:57] half a goal a piece early on in the
[123:58] second. Then a little miscue. Kennedy
[124:01] finds Stewart in front. That would be
[124:03] the last time that Northfield would find
[124:05] the back of the net. this great effort
[124:07] out of the corner. Sins on the far side
[124:10] wall puts a puck out in front and it's
[124:13] Tommy Bo 5 foot seven Tommy Bo driving
[124:15] to the net for his first varsity goal.
[124:17] Then the game winner Carlo from the blue
[124:20] line Henry Sampair the main Black Bear
[124:23] commit fires it home for the gamewinner
[124:26] tonight and well maybe a four. We'll let
[124:29] you be the judge on that. Three to the
[124:32] final. Monita the Zephers win tonight
[124:34] over the Northfield Raiders in a top 10
[124:36] tilt here on Suburban Community Channels
[124:38] TV19. Final stats 49 shots on goal
[124:41] finish 3226 in favor of the Zephers.
[124:44] Scoring chances Northfield started to
[124:46] push more in that third period, but
[124:48] ultimately just a little too little too
[124:50] late. And the Zephers when they get
[124:51] those leads in the third period, they
[124:53] know how to lock them down just about as
[124:56] well as anybody. And they did that
[124:58] tonight. Again, our camera operators
[125:00] today were Ben Brandon and Christian
[125:01] Stoultzman. In the truck today, David
