[0:05] [music] [0:09] Spike is hammered down by Ali [0:14] Park. Come on. [0:17] [music] [0:20] Let's go. [0:28] See you later. [0:33] [music] [0:52] >> [music] [0:59] >> From Galvin Cord on the campus of White [1:02] Bear Lake Area High School in White [1:04] Bear, Minnesota, it's time for high [1:06] school basketball on SECT TV alongside [1:10] Inside Carl Warner. My name's Tanner [1:12] Hopes. Delina to welcome you to the [1:14] Holiday Hoopla here at White Bear as the [1:16] Blaine Bengals put their undefeated [1:18] start to the season on the line against [1:20] the host White Bear Lake Bears. Should [1:22] be a fun one, Carl, between two teams [1:24] that don't see each other a whole heck [1:25] of a lot. They saw each other a couple [1:27] years ago and that was an outstanding [1:29] contest. Hoping for more the same [1:30] tonight. [1:31] >> Great to be with you, Tanner. Yeah, this [1:33] is only the second time since the [1:34] pandemic these teams have played and the [1:36] first time in 722 days. Both these teams [1:40] at this point last season had losing [1:42] records. Now coming into tonight, Wiper [1:44] Lake still does. Blaine undefeated 8 and [1:47] 0 and at this point Blaine's trying to [1:49] stay undefeated. Wiper Lake trying to [1:51] pick themselves up after a 43-point loss [1:53] last night. [1:54] >> We will have tip off and starting [1:55] lineups after this. Right now, we'll [1:57] pause for the national anthem. More [1:58] after this on SEC TV. [2:09] Proudly we held [2:13] at the twilight [singing] last meeting [2:18] who's brought stripes and bright stars [2:24] through the per [2:28] [singing] [2:34] were so [2:35] in the street [2:39] and the rock is red. [2:44] The bones were singing there [2:48] gave proof through the night [2:53] that our flag was still there. [2:58] Oh, say does that star make [3:03] better yet [3:07] [singing] [3:09] for the land of the free [3:14] and the home of the free. [3:21] [applause] [3:24] Well, we are just about set to get this [3:26] one going. Blaine taking on White Bear [3:29] Lake in non-conference basketball. The [3:31] Bengals 8 and0 to start the season. [3:33] White Bear Lake 3 and4. We'll take a [3:36] look at tonight's starters as they're [3:38] introduced over the PA system for the [3:40] undefeated Bengals. The straw that stirs [3:42] the drink has been Shiloh Ait, a senior [3:45] guard averaging 23 points a game. Henry [3:47] Seammons, a sophomore guard, 15.6 points [3:50] per. Gavin Olsen, a junior forward at [3:52] five points a game. Tompa senior guard [3:55] just under 10 points per. And rounding [3:57] out the starting lineup is Owen Clark, a [3:59] senior guard, averaging three and a half [4:01] points per game. Head coach in his [4:03] second season, Bernie Ward. His [4:05] assistants include Jack Pinky, Will Tin [4:08] of Daniel Bell, and Brian Lindström. The [4:10] starting lineup for the White Bear Lake [4:12] Bears looks like this. Will McQuay, a [4:14] 6-1 junior averaging just under 10 [4:17] points per game. EMTT Anderson, 5'11 [4:19] sophomore at four points per. Nick [4:21] Cardinis, a 6'2 senior, 11 12 points per [4:24] game. Preston Crider, a 6'5 junior at [4:27] 11.2 points per game. And rounding out [4:29] the starting lineup is their leading [4:31] scoreer, Colin Piper, a 68 senior [4:33] averaging 21 points a game. He is [4:36] committed to play college basketball at [4:38] Florida Tech. Head coach in his third [4:40] season, Aaron Turner, assisted by Jason [4:43] Silza and Adam King. Those are the White [4:46] Bear Lake Bears, and those are tonight's [4:48] starting lineups. The gym has gone dark [4:49] momentarily as the starters for the home [4:52] team are being introduced over the PA [4:54] system. Both teams technically had a [4:57] game last night for White Bear Lake. [4:58] That was a 9552 loss against Oio looking [5:02] to bounce back and even their record. [5:04] For Blaine, they picked up a four-fit [5:06] victory over North St. Paul, but they've [5:08] been on the floor seven times this year. [5:09] They've come away with seven wins. [5:11] They've been tested in a few of those [5:12] games. They've had three games decided [5:14] by single digits, but this is a Bengals [5:17] team. And again, Bernie Ward in his [5:18] second year as the head coach, building [5:20] something really special. Off to a great [5:22] start in the 2025 portion of this year's [5:25] schedule. Looking to keep that rolling [5:27] as we get set for the new year. But one [5:29] last battle to put on the schedule and [5:31] see if they can move that record to 9 [5:33] and0 before we get to 2026. [5:35] >> Yeah, to say the very least, you [5:36] mentioned they've had a few close [5:38] contested contests. However, they've had [5:40] some blowout wins most recently at [5:43] Anoka. They won by 26. That's their [5:45] biggest win of the year. They also had a [5:47] 25-point win over Forest Lake. And [5:49] although they have a pretty not [5:52] necessarily challenging class 4A [5:54] schedule, this Blaine Bengals team has [5:56] been mowing over their competition. It's [5:59] going to be a fun one tonight. We're [6:00] glad to have you with us. Last time they [6:02] met, by the way, January 8th of 2024. We [6:05] talked about that a little bit. A 9993 [6:08] Blaine victory at Blaine High School. [6:10] Ethan Pettis scored 40 points that [6:12] night. The Bengals are in the black [6:15] uniforms with the light blue numerals [6:17] and the home whites for White Bear Lake. [6:19] The black numerals outlined in orange. [6:22] We're set to get this one going and [6:23] thrilled to have you aboard. Thanks for [6:25] making High School Hoops part of your [6:27] Tuesday night plans are final in 2025. [6:32] And the scores table with a little bit [6:33] of housekeeping before we can get the [6:36] party started tonight. Non-conference [6:38] action. And the Bengals 6-0 out of the [6:40] Northwest Suburban Conference, 8-0 [6:42] overall to start the season. White Bear [6:44] Lake off to a 2-1 start in Suburban East [6:47] Conference play. [6:50] To get everything situated with the [6:51] scores table and what we need to get [6:53] going tonight. Good crowd on hand. Of [6:55] course, the weather's been iffy here [6:57] over the last handful of days. [6:59] >> Our official is coming over the scores [7:00] table. He's wondering what's going on. [7:04] >> We are just about set. Almost everybody [7:06] seems to be set. And now they're sending [7:08] the teams back to their benches. [7:11] >> And of course, we can only speculate. [7:13] >> I see the scoreboard's not up. It looks [7:14] like they're having a a problem maybe [7:16] with the with the uh with the Tron. [7:22] >> Appears to be the case. Scoreboard was [7:24] working fine throughout the JV game, the [7:26] B squad game, and would you know it [7:28] rises as it's time to get the uh main [7:30] event going, everything goes dark. I [7:33] tell you what, Tanner, when you have a [7:34] beautiful gym like this, one of the most [7:36] the most beautiful high school gym I've [7:38] ever seen. You got all this fancy [7:40] equipment in here. I wouldn't doubt it [7:41] that some of it goes not necessarily [7:43] working the best way all the time. Now [7:45] it looks like it's going up [7:46] >> and it gives us an opportunity to take a [7:48] look at the Northwest Suburban [7:49] Conference. There's Blade on top in a [7:51] really competitive conference. They're [7:52] going to be tested. I tell you what, [7:54] Totino Grace, they haven't played a [7:55] conference game technically, but uh down [7:58] there near the bottom, you know, that's [7:59] not going to be the way things end. [8:01] >> Absolutely not. That is a really, really [8:03] tough stretch right there. They're going [8:04] to be battle tested when it's all said [8:05] and done. [8:06] >> Totino Grace, one of the best class 3A [8:09] teams in the state. Now, we take a look [8:11] at the Suburban East Conference. White [8:13] Bear Lake right there at number four [8:15] with a conference record of 2-1. Cretton [8:17] Durham Hall going to be the team to beat [8:19] and they have been for the last handful [8:21] of years. That is a top 10 Cretton [8:23] Durham Hall team. And that is who's up [8:25] next for White Bear Lake. That'll be [8:26] Tuesday night, a 7:00 game and their [8:29] next contest. Blaine is off until [8:31] Tuesday night as well. They will visit [8:33] Rogers. Also a 7:00 game. So, the [8:36] scoreboard partially up and running [8:38] again. We do have time and uh zeros [8:41] underneath both teams name plates [8:44] >> at this point. Tanner, I'm wondering if [8:46] uh if this delay has thrown off the the [8:49] the energy. We had the starting [8:51] introductions and now it's kind of like, [8:53] okay, all hyped up, ready to go, and [8:55] then nope, throw on the brakes. Yeah, [8:57] ABS breaking much needed tonight here in [9:00] the snow and you wonder if that's going [9:01] to stall any of the momentum and the [9:03] scoring when we actually do start. [9:05] >> Well, they did a great job getting the [9:07] uh place ready for basketball and it [9:09] looks like we are set to get going after [9:11] a brief delay. Once again, glad to have [9:13] you aboard and however you might be [9:15] tuned in. Piper and Olsen in the center [9:17] jump circle as we get set to get it [9:20] going from White Bear Lake Area High [9:22] School here in White Bear Lake, [9:24] Minnesota. We are set to go and three [9:27] dribbles from our official ball in the [9:29] air and the tap is won by the Bengals. [9:31] With that, we are underway. They'll work [9:34] it across the midcourt stripe and set up [9:36] the offense. Work it to the near side [9:38] and they'll throw it down low looking to [9:40] make a man miss as Aayite plays it back [9:43] out for Seammens. [9:45] >> Semens is just a sophomore. He's been [9:47] putting up some impressive numbers. A [9:48] long three let go and missed and the [9:50] rebound pulled down by Will McQuay and [9:53] McQuay brings it across timeline. He'll [9:55] set up the offense for White Bear Lake [9:57] down low to Crider and now to Piper. [10:00] Piper the 68 senior of the Florida Tech [10:02] commit puts it up. It goes around the [10:04] rim. No good. Tapped around out of [10:05] bounds. It'll go to Blaine. [applause] [10:09] 35 seconds into this game. No score. [10:11] Just underway in a fullcourt press put [10:14] on by the Bears. That height advantage [10:16] from Colin Piper going to be so just [10:20] it's so much of an advantage for [10:23] for Wiper Lake. Lot of talent on this [10:25] Blaine team but not a whole lot of [10:27] height and they'll throw it to Iet their [10:30] leading scoreer driving in right side. [10:31] Runner won't go and the rebound pulled [10:33] down and quickly pushed ahead by EMTT [10:35] Anderson. He lay it off to C. Make that [10:38] Cardinus. Cardinis right at the top of [10:40] the key inside the arc to Piper finds a [10:43] cutter. McQuay going down the right side [10:45] of the lane. Back door bounce pass [10:47] underneath. Looking for a little bit of [10:49] space. Now back to McQuay who gets it [10:50] off the heel of the rim and in. And [10:52] White Bear Lake draws first blood. [10:55] >> White Lake has two starters out there [10:57] with the heights separated by 9 in. How [10:59] many times do you see that in a [11:00] Minnesota high school game? [11:02] >> It's a big spread for sure. I will dish [11:05] it off to Olsen and out of Seammens [11:07] between the circles. Bullet pass down [11:09] low. Olsson cut off. Olsson looking for [11:12] help. throws it up top to Aayite. Aayite [11:15] drives in, picks it up left side of the [11:17] floor. Crosscourt skip pass. Seammens [11:19] will try a three. Too strong off the [11:20] heel of the rim and the rebounds pulled [11:22] down by McQuay, his second. [11:24] >> Big story tonight. Blaine has been [11:26] excellent on defense. Wiper Lake scoring [11:28] 68 points per game. Blaine only allowing [11:31] 56 opposing points per game. Is Blaine [11:34] going to be able to keep that defense up [11:35] tonight? They quickly throw it down the [11:37] other end to Crider who banks it in and [11:39] it's quickly four nothing Bears in the [11:41] early going and Blaine looking to answer [11:43] with Aayite. Dishes off to Guma on the [11:45] left side. Gum driving in the paint. [11:47] Bounce pass down low. Layup off the [11:49] window and in falls in and that gets [11:52] Blaine in the board. It's Olsson to make [11:54] it four to two. [11:55] >> Beautiful pass there from Ga. [11:57] >> And some fullcourt pressure put on by [11:59] the Bengals. 1542 left to go here in [12:02] half number one. And quickly into the [12:04] front court. And they'll throw it down [12:05] low for Grider along the baseline right [12:08] side cut off by Gump. Reverse layup [12:10] missed and the rebound pulled down by [12:12] Olsen. [12:13] >> I don't think that delay affected any of [12:15] the energy from these players. [12:17] >> Up and down we go. Aayite looking to [12:20] three from the corner. No good. Rebound [12:22] pulled down. [12:23] >> Bear slow to get up here. [12:24] >> Piper trying to push it the other way [12:26] and a steal will hold play. Aite picks [12:29] up the steel. Preston Crider slow to get [12:31] up [12:32] >> and he's in a lot of pain [12:35] left knee. [12:39] >> Crider down in pain. The training staff [12:41] will come and check on him and help him [12:43] to his feet. [12:44] >> He's already back to his feet, which is [12:45] a great sight. [12:46] >> Hate to see that, especially this early [12:48] into the game. [12:51] Ryder coming off a wonderful performance [12:52] at Champlain Park back on the 19th. He [12:55] scored 20 points in an 81 to 55 victory. [12:58] And we'll get our first sub in of the [13:00] game. Jonathan Woods, a 6'2 senior [13:02] averaging about six points per [13:06] four-2 White Bear Lake on top. 1517 left [13:09] to go here in half number one. [13:12] Non-conference boys hoops the final game [13:14] of the 2025 portion of the schedule for [13:17] both of these teams. [13:18] >> It's an 800 p.m. tip off tonight. I [13:20] wonder if that has any sort of effect on [13:23] the rhythm of these players. The 1 hour [13:25] later start the back end of a triple [13:27] header. The B squad in the JV played [13:29] earlier today. Part of Holiday Hoopla [13:32] to the right side. It goes for Gumpta. [13:34] And now between the circles, Clark. [13:36] Clark moving inside the arc. Pull up [13:38] jumper is good. [13:39] >> Goodness, what a block. [13:40] >> Taking it the other way. Doesn't have [13:41] the numbers, but driving anyway. McQuay [13:43] missed the layup and the rebound hold by [13:45] Aite. Quickly pushes ahead. Blaine [13:48] looking to run the floor the other way. [13:49] Gump tries a three and knocks it down [13:51] for the right wing and Blaine leads for [13:53] the first time tonight. [13:54] >> What a change of momentum right there. [13:56] Absolutely a nothing burger on that [13:58] layup for White Bear Lake and then the [14:00] triple to give the Bengals the lead. [14:03] >> Five to four, a one-point Bengal lead. [14:05] Their hand got steal. [14:07] >> Gardinas had trouble in the back court, [14:09] but they do get it ahead with Woods and [14:11] they'll play it back out and set up [14:13] their usual half court offense. Woods, [14:15] who just came into the game, throws it [14:17] down low. [14:18] >> Nice ball movement here from Wiper Lake. [14:21] >> Piper going one-on-one to the basket and [14:23] Jake Olsson there. lays it off the glass [14:25] and him. [14:26] >> He's going to win a lot of those [14:27] battles. [14:28] >> Be a tough match up tonight for the [14:30] junior Olsen against the Florida [14:31] Techbound Pipering just over 20 a game. [14:35] >> Olsen is pretty similar in size. So, I'm [14:39] sure he's going to do a lot better than [14:40] some of the other counterparts that have [14:43] gone by. The Florida Tech come in. Oh my [14:45] goodness. [14:45] >> A shot blocked by Piper coming the other [14:48] way. McQuay leaning shooting did not [14:50] catch iron. Rebound offensive for Piper. [14:53] He puts it up and in off the glass. [14:55] Eight to five White Bear Lake. [14:57] >> It is the Piper show so far. Doing it on [14:59] both ends. [15:01] >> 1338 left to go here in half number one [15:04] with it between the circles. Clark. [15:07] >> That was the most emphatic block I've [15:09] seen all season. [15:11] >> Semens now with it on the right side. [15:13] Back to Gumpa. He'll launch a long three [15:15] off the front of the rim. No good. [15:17] Rebound Piper. And Cardinus within the [15:20] back court. He'll set up the offense and [15:22] now push it ahead for McQuay. [15:24] Three-point White Bear Lake lead. [15:26] They've scored the last four points [15:29] inside the arc to the left side for [15:31] Piper. Lost the basketball. Taking it [15:33] away as Aayite. It was knocked away by [15:35] Olsen. Iet driving in now. Kicks it out. [15:39] Clark with it on the right side. Back to [15:42] Aayit near midcourt. NBA length three. [15:44] No good. Off the front of the rim. [15:46] Rebound kept alive and a foul called. [15:48] That'll be the first of the game against [15:49] either team. [15:51] >> That's two possessions in a row for [15:53] Blaine where they're pulling up from [15:54] three long beyond the line. [15:57] >> They'll get EMTT Anderson for it. First [15:58] of the game against either squad and Ait [16:02] sent to trigger it in. Aayite the [16:05] leading scoreer floor wide with 23 per [16:09] contest. [16:10] Right side for Gumpta and a back door [16:13] bounce pass finds Aayite and having [16:16] trouble with it. Cardinus was able to [16:17] get in there and wrap it up, but he was [16:19] standing on the out- of-bounds line or [16:21] sliding rather on the out- of- bounds [16:22] line. It'll stay with Blaine. [16:26] >> 11 on the shot clock. [16:27] >> At this point, White Bear Lake has done [16:28] a really good job setting the tone, the [16:32] energy in this game. They're still in [16:34] front. Looks like they're going to stay [16:36] with Blaine until further notice. [16:38] >> They want to keep this one within [16:39] striking distance and not make this a [16:41] track meet. Down low now. They work it [16:44] back up top. Gumped up for Aayite left [16:46] side. Aayite puts up a runner before the [16:48] shot clock expires. No good. But has his [16:51] own rebound. Bounce pass to Olsen. [16:53] Throws it up. No good. Off the glass and [16:54] off the rim. And Cardinus is the [16:56] rebound. [16:58] Here comes White Bear Lake looking to [17:00] build on a three-point lead. Transition [17:02] three for Woods. No good. Rebound for [17:04] Clark. [17:06] >> Said we we've only had the one foul call [17:08] so far. Officials letting these teams [17:10] play. Not saying it's necessarily been [17:12] that chippy either. with the basketball. [17:15] Seammens the down and sophomore between [17:16] the circles. Seammens will step into a [17:19] long three for the tie. No good. Off the [17:20] front of the rim. Rebound for Anderson. [17:22] >> Another lengthy three ball attempt from [17:25] Blaine. You wonder if they want him to [17:27] get a little bit closer for a high [17:29] percentage look. [17:30] >> Mccay with the basketball. Driving in [17:32] the right side, right elbow now and [17:34] brings it back out. Throws it to Piper. [17:37] Piper inside the arc looking to drive to [17:39] the basket in the paint. Leaning [17:40] shooting. No good. Well defended by [17:42] Olsen who's got the rebound. Olsson's [17:45] going to have his hands full tonight [17:47] with the basketball. Clark to the left [17:49] side now and moving across the court. [17:52] Seammens for Aayite and Aite driving in [17:55] spinning. Kicks it up top. Clark will [17:57] try a three for the tie and it's good. [18:00] Nodded at eight. 1117 to go first half. [18:04] Fun basketball thus far. [18:05] >> Absolutely has been. Only one team foul [18:08] so far and we're almost halfway through [18:11] this first half. [18:12] >> They beat the press with Woods. Lobs it [18:14] ahead to Piper who finishes at the rack [18:16] and it's 10 to eight. Bears back in [18:18] front. [18:21] And now coming the other way is Clark. [18:24] Clark across midcourt. Throws it to the [18:27] left side for Aite. Aite back to Clark [18:30] right wing. Thought about a three. Now [18:32] drives in and now kicks to Seammens. [18:34] Seammens back to Clark. He'll try this [18:35] three. That one's no good. And a [18:37] rebounding foul. [applause] [18:40] And then we'll go against White Bear [18:41] Lake. It'll be their second. And [18:44] >> there's a few White Bear Lake students. [18:46] Not too happy about that one, but [18:48] >> get Cardinas for it. That's his first. [18:50] Subs into the game. Logan Aaylor 66 [18:53] junior averaging four points per in the [18:55] game for the first time for White Bear [18:56] Lake. And the subs for Blaine Doce [18:59] Mills, a senior guard, 7.7 points per [19:02] and Gavin Weir, a senior swingman [19:04] averaging just over two points per [19:06] contest. They'll take a timeout here [19:08] with 1042 to go here in the first half. [19:10] A 10 to8 White Bear Lake lead. Back and [19:13] forth we go. And tell you what, some [19:15] matchup problems, I think you can say on [19:17] both ends. Of course, the height is [19:19] going to favor White Bear Lake, but on [19:21] the other end, they're doing a good job [19:22] defending and forcing Blaine to settle [19:24] for some shots. But uh I'm sure Bernie [19:26] Ward is telling him that guys we need to [19:28] get a little more high percentage looks. [19:30] >> Colin Piper has six points thus far. [19:33] Leading scorer in this game for for [19:35] White Bear Lake. On the other side, [19:38] you're going to be looking at Tula Gma. [19:42] He's got three, but spreading it around [19:45] there for the Bengals. [19:47] Viper Lake up two going into this [19:49] timeout. two coaches that are still [19:51] relatively new to their respective [19:53] schools, but certainly not new to high [19:55] school basketball here in the metro. [19:58] It'd be fun to watch those two in the [19:59] chess match they have with each other. [20:01] First time they're squaring off against [20:03] each other. [20:04] >> It's a it's a fascinating thing to see [20:06] these coaching matchups. Like I called a [20:08] game a couple weeks ago where the [20:10] combined varsity tenure of the head [20:11] coaches was well over 50 years and in [20:14] this game it's only five, but it's [20:16] always interesting to see the the [20:18] longevity and the the matchups and [20:20] rivalries between these coaching staffs. [20:22] >> Mills sent to trigger in underneath the [20:24] basket with 1042 to go in the first [20:26] half. A two-point White Bear Lake lead [20:28] at 10 to eight. [20:31] >> Lane undefeated at 8-0. White Bear Lake [20:33] is three and four with the basketball. [20:36] Seammens [20:37] gets it back left in the top of the key. [20:40] Throws it to the foul line. Back door [20:42] bounce pass. Olsson off the glass and [20:43] in. Nice move and we're tied at 10. Was [20:46] beautiful passing there by Blaine. [20:48] >> Four points for Olson in the fullcourt. [20:50] Press put back on. Anderson with it in [20:53] the back court ahead to McQuay. Still [20:56] yet to cross the dividing line and now [20:58] does. Mcuay on the left side goes around [21:00] a ball screen from Piper. Dribbles to [21:02] the top of the key. Gets another screen. [21:04] He gives it to Piper who's fouled on his [21:06] way to the basket and he will go to the [21:08] line to shoot the game's first foul [21:10] shots. [21:13] >> The first foul against Blaine. They'll [21:15] get Olsen for it. 10:09 to go in the [21:17] first half. [21:18] >> Lane making Piper earn every point he [21:21] gets tonight. [21:23] Whitebear Lake a home record of one and [21:26] two trying to get back to 500 and their [21:28] home record and record in general. [21:31] >> First B shot good. With one more coming [21:33] that puts White Bear Lake back in front. [21:35] 11 to 10. Piper once again. He is headed [21:39] way south to Florida Tech to continue [21:41] his basketball career. This time at the [21:44] collegiate level. [21:45] >> And now watch out here. I see Preston [21:47] Crider. He's going back to the scorers [21:49] table. He's getting ready to come back [21:50] in this game after that that apparent [21:52] leg injury. [21:53] >> Second foul shot missed and the rebound [21:55] pulled down by Seammens. Pushes ahead to [21:57] Gumpter. Now to Olen in the left side. [21:59] wipe their leg flying around on defense. [22:03] >> Semens for Guma. Gumpta back to Seammens [22:07] near midcourt looking for a soft spot in [22:10] that Bears defense. [22:12] Seammens to Weir. Weir back to Seammens. [22:15] Surveys the floor. Throws it inside the [22:17] arc where it's deflected away and stolen [22:19] by McQuay to Piper running the floor [22:21] left side off the glass. No good. Got [22:23] his own miss and puts it up and in. [22:27] Great start to this game for Piper. He's [22:29] got nine points. It is 13- 10 White Bear [22:32] Lake. [22:34] Right side now for Seammens to Gumpta. [22:37] Throws it down low. Somebody forgot [22:38] about Olsson, but they recover. And then [22:40] his pass is intercepted by Anderson. [22:42] >> EMTT Anderson has been everywhere for [22:45] White Bear Lake thus far. [22:46] >> Runs the floor and puts it up and in. [22:48] 15- 10 White Bear Lake. 910 to go in the [22:52] first half. [22:54] Here come the Bengals looking to [22:55] respond. Mills one dribble then picks it [22:59] up finds Gum left side between the [23:02] circles. Weir now back to Mills on the [23:04] right side. A [23:04] >> lot of double teaming thus far. Kicks it [23:06] out to Seammens. Open look at a three [23:08] around the rim. No good. Piper the [23:10] rebound. [23:12] Under nine to go in the first half. A [23:14] five-point White Bear Lake lead at 15 to [23:16] 10. [23:18] And looking to expand on it. Driving in [23:20] left side. Bounce pass to Woods down low [23:22] off the glass and in. Wonder if Bernard [23:25] Ward is going to be thinking about a [23:27] timeout here soon. White Bear Lake on a [23:29] serious run. [23:30] >> Largest lead for either team. 17- 10 to [23:33] the foul line for Weir. Weir they work [23:37] it around to Mills on the right side now [23:39] to Olsen on the baseline to Mills. [23:42] >> They cannot afford to come up empty on [23:44] this possession. [23:45] >> Mills has it right side. Bounce pass [23:47] down low. Olsson nicely done. Reverse [23:49] layup off the glass and in. It feels [23:52] like White Bear Lake is leaving a man [23:54] under the basket just with the intent of [23:57] not letting the ball get down there. [23:59] >> That's a couple let it slip. [24:01] >> 8 minute mark. 17 to 12. Bears by five [24:05] >> with the basketball. Here's Piper. Piper [24:09] left side driving in. Defended by Olsen. [24:11] Contact no call. Powers it off the glass [24:13] and him. [24:15] Back up to a seven-point lead. 743 to go [24:18] in the first half. [24:20] Cross midcourt. Mills to Seammens right [24:23] side. Back to Mills. Mills will set up [24:27] the offense. Back to Seammens between [24:29] the circles. Seammens. [cheering] [24:33] Play catch. Working it around the horn. [24:35] Looking for a soft spot in that white [24:36] bare leg defense. Not much there. Bounce [24:39] pass inside the arc. Mills will kick it [24:42] out to Guma. Guma launches a corner [24:44] three and buries it. Big time shot for [24:47] Tula Gumpta. [24:50] 1915. [24:52] 710 to go in the first half. [24:55] On the other end, McQuay make that [24:57] Anderson. [24:58] They throw it inside yard for Piper. [25:00] Poked away by Olsen. Ball loose on the [25:02] floor and the Bengals come away with it. [25:04] Wear the steel. Long lead pass ahead to [25:06] Mills. Mills running the floor in the [25:08] opposite end. Stripped to the [25:09] basketball. Here comes Piper and PETED [25:12] TO THE BASKET. FLUSHES it home. The [25:14] two-handed power jam [25:17] >> that gets the crowd to its feet. [25:20] >> [cheering] [25:21] >> 2115 638 to go first half. [25:24] >> I cannot believe that Ward hasn't called [25:27] a timeout yet. [25:29] >> Between the circles, Genta. Genta [25:32] looking to silence the crowd. Kicks off [25:34] to Seammens. Seammens between the [25:37] circles. Seammens will throw it down low [25:41] for Olsen. Olsen kicks it back up top [25:43] for Gimpa. Stripped to the basketball. [25:45] Loose on the floor. Bodies diving for [25:47] it. Picks up. That's where it's going. [25:49] >> It's ahead to Piper. Piper through [25:51] contact finishes off the glass. [25:53] >> Still no timeout from Blaine. [25:55] >> The steal for Aers. He was able to push [25:57] it ahead. Piper's got 13. [26:00] 6 minute mark. 2315. [26:03] Eight-point lead for the home team. [26:06] [cheering] Seammens with it. NBA range [26:08] three. No good. And out of bounds. [26:12] >> And now we got three substitutions [26:14] coming in for Blaine. and a couple for [26:17] White Bear Lake. Cardinus and Krider. [26:19] Good to see Krider suffered that injury [26:21] early in the contest. [26:24] Clark is back in the floor and Anderson [26:27] takes a seat to catch his breath. He's [26:29] been putting in some serious work on [26:31] defense. [26:33] >> Continue to set the lineup for Blaine as [26:36] we move forward. [26:37] >> Now, importantly, Piper's off the floor [26:39] now for for Wiper Lake. Not sure how [26:42] long. [26:42] >> Inbound will go to Crider. Fullourt [26:44] press is put back on by the Bengals. [26:46] >> We'll see how both these teams handle [26:48] these minutes where a lot of the key [26:50] players are off the floor. [26:52] >> Cardinus will launch it ahead. McQuay [26:55] driving, puts up a runner, no good. [26:57] Rebound is kept alive and eventually [26:59] into the hands of AI and AI will clear. [27:03] >> Some of these Blaes fans are furious. [27:05] Thought they saw a couple of fouls on [27:06] that last offensive possession for the [27:08] Bears. Aayite left side driving in puts [27:11] up a runner. Athletic move. He banks it [27:13] home [27:15] and a timeout. [27:17] >> We have a stoppage. I'm not sure I saw a [27:19] timeout. Looks like an officials [27:20] timeout. [27:23] >> Delay a game warning. [27:26] >> Swatted the ball away after it came [27:28] through the cylinder. So set to resume [27:31] play with 518 to go in the half and [27:32] White Bear leading by six. [27:34] >> Things are kind of getting heated in [27:35] here, especially on this Blaine side. [27:38] >> Two teams that don't see each other a [27:39] whole lot, but there's a lot of talent [27:41] on both ends. These teams are separated [27:43] by a 40minute 19-mile drive. And I mean, [27:47] if we're being honest, 40 minutes is [27:48] generous on a day like today. [27:50] >> Yeah. [27:51] >> Allow for extra time if you're making [27:53] that hole. [27:54] >> And a lot of Blaine fans did. [27:57] >> And the inbound will go to midcourt. [27:59] McQuay with it. Behind his back, driving [28:02] the other end off the glass and in. [28:04] >> Oh my goodness. How about it, Will [28:06] McQuay? [cheering] [28:09] >> Right side. Aayite's got it now for [28:12] Clark. The energy is picked up [28:14] significantly driving in. Mills kicks it [28:18] out. Crosscourt skip pass coming the [28:21] other way. Aiden Lavic, a newcomer to [28:23] the game, a freshman guard. It's knocked [28:25] out of bounds. It'll stay with Blaine. [28:27] 16 in the shot clock. [28:28] >> The Bengals got to silence this crowd. [28:32] >> Crowd is certainly becoming a factor. [28:33] And here comes Piper headed the scores [28:35] table and back in the game [28:36] >> in real time. Not even game time. Real [28:38] time. He was maybe only sitting down for [28:40] about 3 minutes. [28:41] >> He is going to log a lot of minutes any [28:43] given night. [28:45] He will spell Aers. [28:48] 2517 eight-point lead for White Bear [28:51] Lake. Inbound to Aayite driving in [28:54] spinning puts up a runner high off the [28:55] window and in. Shiloh Aayet the senior [29:00] guard the leading scoreer for this [29:01] Bengals team. Inbound will go to Piper. [29:05] Piper for Cardinas. [29:07] 4 and 1/2 minute mark here in half [29:09] number one. 2519 a six-point Bears lead. [29:14] Driving on the other end. Bounce pass to [29:16] Piper. Kick it out. McQuay for three [29:18] around the rim. No good. Rebound [29:20] offensive put back. Good for Piper. [29:22] >> He's got 15 already. [29:24] >> 15 of their 27. [29:26] >> There's four minutes to go in the first [29:28] half. [cheering] [29:30] >> Clark with it for AI. Driving down the [29:32] right side and passes it off for Mills. [29:36] He'll kick it back out for Clark to [29:39] Lavoc. He brings it out on the right [29:40] side. Up top to Clark. Back door bounce [29:44] pass down low and Olsson fouled on his [29:46] way up and he'll go to the line to shoot [29:48] two. [29:49] >> I mean, at this point, the only live [29:50] stats we have access to in here are the [29:52] the fouls and the points. But I got to [29:54] imagine that Piper has an absolute ton [29:57] of rebounds on both ends of the floor at [29:59] this point, too. [30:00] >> Cardinz picks up his second foul, the [30:02] team's third. Olsen, three of six at the [30:04] foul line this year. [30:07] And the first one's on the way. He makes [30:09] it. One more coming. [applause] [30:12] And a sub into the game. Gimpa will [30:14] check back in. He will spell Mills. [30:18] >> Four points tonight so far for Olsen. [30:22] >> I know. 15 points for Piper, but Olsen, [30:24] he's made some plays defensively. [30:27] He's got a tough assignment going up [30:29] against one of the top post players in [30:31] the metro. [30:34] One more coming for Olsson to get some [30:37] housekeeping taken care of on the Blaine [30:40] sideline. [30:40] >> And more importantly for Blaine, their [30:43] their star player, number one, their [30:45] senior guard, Shiloh Aaya. He's been [30:48] limited to four points thus far. Had [30:50] >> done a good job taking away a lot of his [30:52] first options. [30:54] >> And we got [30:57] gathering going on here. White Bear Lake [31:00] and Aaron Turner calling all of his [31:02] players over to the bench to get some [31:03] water. [31:05] >> I'm not sure we're good to go. I think [31:08] >> a strange start to the game, but a fun [31:10] game nonetheless. [31:12] >> 358 to go in the first half. One more [31:14] foul shot for Olsen. [cheering] [31:18] It's on the way and it's in. Makes them [31:21] both. [31:22] And now the Bears looking to push. [31:24] They've got a threeon two. Three ball [31:26] the other way. No good for Cardinas. for [31:28] the put back right there for Piper. He's [31:30] got 17 [31:33] >> later 21. [31:35] >> Later than usual start for this game, [31:36] but it's been flying by. [31:39] >> Not a whole lot of foul calls. Clark [31:41] will try a three on the other end. [31:42] That's good. [31:44] >> It seems like every time the Bears start [31:45] to separate a little bit, Blaine has had [31:47] an answer. [31:47] >> And to that, they're only up by five. [31:50] And if you've been in the gym for the [31:52] last 10 minutes not having a scoreboard, [31:55] you'd think that you'd think that White [31:57] Bear Lakes up by 15 right now. That's [31:59] not the case. [32:01] >> Still trying to get it across the [32:02] dividing line. [cheering] And Blaine [32:04] thought they had a 10-second call. They [32:06] do. [32:06] >> And every single Blaine fan, and there [32:09] was at least 50 of them that stood up, [32:11] they were clamoring for that call to be [32:13] made. They thought it's happened at [32:15] least a couple times to this point. [32:18] Certainly a part of the crowd. [32:20] >> We got a warning coming to the to the [32:22] crowd now. [32:23] >> Yeah. [32:25] >> Our officials saying we're not going to [32:27] have that from the the crowd all night. [32:29] >> It's a partisan crowd, but there are a [32:31] lot of Bengal fans here. [32:35] >> They're off to a historic 8-0 start [32:38] looking to keep that rolling tonight on [32:40] the road in their final test of 2025. [32:43] Both teams next contest will be Tuesday [32:45] after the new year. [32:48] 315 to go in the half. A five-point [32:51] White Bear Lake lead 2924. [32:54] And Colin Piper has 17 of their 29. [32:59] Clark receives the inbounds pass to the [33:01] foul line. Broken up. Loose ball on the [33:03] floor and picked up by Barrett Swanson. [33:05] A newcomer 510 junior. Whitebear Lake [33:08] has been excellent on the floor tonight [33:10] getting these rebound, getting these [33:11] steals. [33:12] >> McGuay with it. Mcguay driving to the [33:15] top of the key. Cut off by Clark. Mcuay [33:18] to Swanson on the left side. Back to [33:20] McQuay. Mcuay surveys the floor. [33:24] Employs the dribble between his legs now [33:26] to the right side. Crosses over. Moving [33:28] down the lane right side and gets it to [33:30] go. Gets the friendly hometown roll. [33:33] >> Swerves right by him. [33:35] >> Seven-point lead for White Bear leg. [33:38] >> McQuay's got six now. [33:40] >> Aayite dishes off to Lavic and then gets [33:42] it back. Aayite stutter step shot [33:45] blocked by Piper. Rebound Cardinus [33:48] [cheering] [33:48] >> and Cardinas works it ahead to Crider [33:52] across timeline with McQuay. [33:54] >> McQuay Serb looking for a back door [33:57] outlet. Finds it with Cardinus to [33:59] Swanson now in the corner. 212 to go. [34:02] Swanson pressured and then dishes off to [34:04] McQuay down low. The mismatch Piper shot [34:08] no good. Got his own miss. Put back no [34:10] good. Good defense by Eetite despite the [34:12] height advantage for Piper. [34:15] And the other end, Olsson with it. [34:18] Bounce pass will go to Clark inside. Two [34:20] minutes to go and a wildly entertaining [34:22] first half. [34:24] Lavoc with it on the left side. Picks it [34:27] up. Finds AI in the right. Back to [34:30] Lavoc, the talented freshman for Blaine. [34:32] Aayite NBA length three around the rim. [34:35] No good. Piper the rebound. [34:36] >> He's got a full head of steam. [34:38] >> He wants to push it. doesn't have the [34:40] numbers, but still now he kicks it out [34:42] for McQuay. Cardinis left side back to [34:44] McQuay. 90 seconds left in this first [34:46] half. [34:47] >> These Blaine fans are not happy. They [34:49] think the White Bear Lakes gotten away [34:50] with some [34:51] >> Cardinis top of the key three off the [34:54] heel of the rim. No good. Crider the [34:55] offensive rebound. The put back is good. [34:58] >> I thought that one hit the uh the shot [35:00] clock, but I guess our officials didn't [35:02] think so. [35:03] >> Play on [35:05] >> into the front court. Lavoc just about a [35:07] minute to play. How close can Blaine get [35:11] this? [35:11] >> Largest lead for either team. Bounce [35:15] pass. Now they kick it out. Lavick [35:17] looking for some space. [35:18] >> Blaine looks very uncomfortable right [35:20] now. Aayite driving inside. Jark and cut [35:23] off by McQuay. [35:24] >> 10 seconds on the shot clock. They got [35:26] to figure out something now. [35:27] >> Bounce pass to Lavic near midcourt. [35:29] >> 6 seconds. [35:31] >> An NBA length three for Ga. Did not [35:34] catch iron. Olsson right there. Puts it [35:36] up and in. They make something out of [35:37] nothing. [35:39] Little over 30 to go and the shot clock [35:42] is separated by a second. In all [35:44] reality, White Bear Lake can probably [35:46] hold it the whole time if they want. [35:48] >> Cardinus on the other end to the corner [35:50] for Swanson. Poked away from him. Out of [35:52] bounds by Lavic. It'll stay with White [35:54] Bear Lake. [35:55] >> Really nice poke there by the freshman [35:57] Lavic. [35:57] >> And subs into the game. It'll be [35:59] Anderson and Woods. [36:03] >> 22.5 seconds left in the half. 22 in the [36:06] shot clock. [36:08] 33-26. White Bear Lake by seven. They've [36:11] led for most of this first half and by [36:14] as many as nine. [36:17] >> Looking to the corner for Woods. He'll [36:20] launch a right wing three. Got it. [36:22] Double digit lead for White Bear Lake [36:24] Jonathan Woods. [36:27] Shot clock is dark. [36:30] Genta. Bounce pass for Rollson in the [36:32] baseline. Ball away. Jumper around the [36:35] rim. No good. Rebound. Genta. keeps it [36:37] alive. Loose in the floor. Anderson [36:39] diving for it and they'll launch it down [36:41] the length of the floor. It'll come up [36:43] short and a wildly entertaining first [36:45] half will come to an end with White Bear [36:47] Lake leading 3626. [36:50] That is an unbelievable display of [36:53] effort by White Bear Lake coming into [36:54] this game as heavy underdogs coming off [36:57] of a game last night where they got [36:59] thumped by 43 and now they're up by 10 [37:02] at the break. It's a Blaine team that [37:04] has a season low in scoring of 57. [37:08] They're held at 26 at the halfway mark. [37:11] We'll take a break. [42:03] Some of the greats that have come [42:04] through White Bear Lake and a great one [42:07] tonight looking to knock the Blaine [42:09] Bengals from the ranks of the unbeaten. [42:11] A 3626 lead for the hometown Bears in [42:15] the final tuneup of 2025 [42:18] before we flip the calendar to the new [42:20] year. Tanner Hoops, Carl Warner with you [42:22] and a great first half for White Bear [42:24] Lake. A 10-point lead. They're getting [42:25] everything they could want more from [42:27] their big stud Colin Piper. The 68 [42:29] senior collegebound guy averaging 21 [42:32] points a game. In all likelihood, he's [42:34] going to hit that. But he was phenomenal [42:36] in the first half. Of course, [42:37] defensively though, they did a great job [42:39] making Blaine uncomfortable. Of course, [42:41] they want to get Aayit going in the [42:42] second half, but just not a whole lot of [42:44] first options there on the offensive end [42:46] for the Bengals. And [42:48] >> I tell you what, you mentioned that they [42:49] looked uncomfortable on offense tonight. [42:52] It's perfect weather inside the gym. MC [42:54] Chris 68 70°. It looked like Blaine was [42:58] playing in freezing conditions down [43:00] there whenever they had the ball on [43:01] offense. And then Colin Piper absolutely [43:04] asserting dominance for White Bear Lake [43:06] with 19 so far. What a difference in 24 [43:10] hours this could be for the Bears if [43:12] they pull this off. A 43point loss on [43:14] this floor last night and now they can [43:16] knock off an unbeated team. [43:19] I tell you what, Blaine, the last time [43:20] they actually took the floor had that [43:22] forfeit win last night. But they were [43:24] last in action before Christmas a week [43:26] ago today. That was that four-point win [43:28] at Spring Lake Park in which they got a [43:30] 40 burger from Aayite trying to find a [43:32] way to rally and keep their undefeated [43:35] season alive. Both teams are back in [43:37] action a week from tonight. Blaine is at [43:39] Rogers and White Bear Lake will have [43:41] another doozy right here against Cret [43:43] and Durham Hall. Both of those are set [43:45] for 7:00 starts. But White Bear Lake [43:48] hoping to head into the new year with a [43:49] record of 4 and four trying to get back [43:52] to the 500 mark. Blaine trying to finish [43:54] the 2025 portion at 9 and0 and trying to [43:58] finish Holiday Hoopla strong. Tell you [44:00] what, not a whole lot of trips to the [44:02] charity stripe on either end. Not a [44:03] whole lot of whistles in that first [44:05] half. Uh but I tell you what, I think [44:07] both teams like that. They like getting [44:08] up and down the floor. They like being [44:10] able to play a little bit and be [44:11] physical. And we'll see who that favors [44:13] going forward. The first half was an [44:15] absolute sprint. You see the team fouls [44:18] right [music] there. Only four combined. [44:20] You wonder what we'll see here in the [44:21] second half. And if this game gets a lot [44:24] closer, then maybe we'll see a little [44:26] bit more fouling going on. But an [44:28] absolute Usain Bolt level sprint of a [44:31] first half. [44:31] >> By the way, Gavin Olsson the leading [44:33] scoreer for Blaine. He's got 10. Aayit [44:35] their leading score with 23 held to [44:37] four. 3626. White Bear Lake by 10. [44:41] Second half after this on SEC TV. [47:57] >> [music] [48:02] >> Second half is underway. It's going to [48:04] be a fun finish. Don't go anywhere. Glad [48:06] to have you with us. Final contest in [48:08] the 2025 portion of our schedule for [48:11] both of these teams. Tanner Hoops and [48:13] Carl Warner with you. A 10-point lead [48:15] for White Bear Lake at the half. And [48:16] they've got the basketball in the hands [48:18] of McQuay. Mcguay at the bound line [48:20] picks it up and looks for help. Back [48:22] door bounce pass makes its way to Piper. [48:24] Fall away jumper along the baseline. No [48:26] good. Rebound kept alive and it's [48:28] offensive for Anderson. Out to Piper. [48:30] He'll try a three. That's no good. And [48:33] the rebound tapped around and settled [48:35] down by Seammens. And Tanner, you bet. [48:38] That's where Blaine wants Piper to be [48:40] taking those shots as we've witnessed [48:42] that airball. They do not want Piper [48:44] anywhere near the basket. They'd prefer [48:46] he'd be taking those mid-range and [48:48] three-pointers. with the basketball. [48:50] McQuay, he'll work it across the [48:52] dividing line. McQuay left hand dribble [48:55] bumped and fouled by Seammens near [48:56] midcourt. [48:58] >> Ultimately, White Bear Lake still up by [49:00] 10 as we get things started here in the [49:02] second half. And if the second half is [49:04] anything like the first, we're not going [49:06] to see a lot of stoppages here. The [49:08] Bengals have to get some momentum and [49:09] they got to get it now. And [49:11] >> sub into the game, Woods, he will spell [49:13] Krider. That fall, by the way, the first [49:16] on Seammens, the first this half against [49:18] Blaine. The Bengals 8-0, their [49:20] undefeated season on the line, trying to [49:23] rally here in the second half at White [49:25] Bear Lake. Anderson with it, picks up [49:27] the dribble left side and finds Piper [49:29] down low. Piper's pass intercepted. [49:31] Twoon two coming the other way, pushing [49:33] it. Seammens, finds Gimpa. Back to [49:35] Seammens, puts up a rudder and gets it [49:37] to go. [49:39] Defense leads to offense back down to [49:41] single digits. [49:43] And the fullourt press put on once [49:45] again. Long lead pass deflected away and [49:48] stolen. It's Seammens coming the other [49:51] way. Picks it up. Turns around and [49:53] shoots. No good. Rebound McQuay. And [49:55] McQuay a long lead pass ahead to Woods. [49:57] Woods driving left side. Layup. No good. [50:00] Rebound pulled down by Olsen. [50:02] >> And so far in this second half, Blaine's [50:05] been able to take away the height [50:06] advantage. [50:07] >> Three-pointer no good. [50:09] >> And Woods has the rebound. They've been [50:11] forcing White Bear Lake to do some [50:13] longer passes and [50:15] not get Piper involved. [50:17] >> Up and down the floor we go and trying [50:19] to get it across timeline. [50:22] >> Did they get called for it again? [50:25] >> Haven't seen a signal yet. [50:27] >> We just to give it to them. [50:29] >> That's the second time this game that [50:31] Whitebear Lake has been called for not [50:33] getting the ball across the half court [50:35] line in the appropriate time. And by the [50:37] way, the Blaine fans think that it's [50:39] been about five more additional times [50:41] than what's been called. [50:42] >> Our official was making sure everybody [50:46] stays composed, [50:48] doing a little crowd control before [50:49] signaling that 10-second violation. It's [50:52] a ruckus atmosphere tonight. Down low, [50:55] reverse layup. Olsson. Nicely done. [50:57] >> A four-point run to start this second [51:00] half for Blaine. [51:03] >> And a team high 12 points for Gam [51:05] Olsson. The two big men going to work [51:08] leading scorers in their respective [51:09] teams. [51:10] >> Now White Bear Lake, they're trying to [51:11] get their mojo back. [51:13] >> Mcuay, he'll give it to Cardinis on the [51:16] right side. Cardinus defended by Aayet. [51:19] Poked away from him. Out of bounds off [51:21] Iet. And it'll stay with White Bear [51:23] Lake. 19 to shoot. [51:27] All of a sudden, down to a six-point [51:29] lead for White Bear Lake after having [51:31] that lead for most of the first half. [51:35] And Cardinz throws it into Piper. Turns [51:37] and shoots and banks it down. [51:39] He's already at his average of 21. [51:44] Here come the Bengals across midcourt. [51:46] Two and a half minutes gone by here in [51:47] half number two. Aayite right elbow jump [51:50] shot. Nothing but the bottom of the [51:52] barrel. [51:52] >> Beautiful job getting open there by [51:56] six. They want to get him going if they [51:58] want to rally here in the second half. [52:00] Piper showing off the dribbles, but his [52:02] pass intercepted by and quickly [52:05] pushed ahead. Setting his feet for a [52:07] three left wing. It's good for Olsson. [52:10] And now will Aaron Turner think about [52:12] taking a timeout here. [52:14] >> 15 for Olsson. It's a onepossession [52:17] game. 3 minutes into the second half and [52:19] a whistle. A timeout taken by Aaron [52:23] Turner. [cheering] [52:26] Well, you knew Blaine was going to have [52:28] a push. They're just too talented not [52:30] to. [52:31] And all of a sudden, three-point game. [52:33] 1454 to go. Buckle up. It's going to be [52:36] a fun finish. [52:37] >> I'm not sure what was said in the locker [52:38] room during halftime by head coach [52:40] Bernard Ward, but whatever it is, it is [52:43] working. The Blaine Bengals have come [52:45] out with absolute ferocity to start this [52:49] second half. [52:50] >> I tell you what, awesome start. Get a [52:53] look at it. Genta, that good find to [52:57] Olen down low. He's had a really nice [52:58] game on both ends. I know he's drawing [53:00] Piper quite a bit and Piper's going to [53:02] do his thing, but man, Olsson, he's had [53:04] a strong start to this one. [53:08] It's going to be a really fun finish. [53:10] Glad to have you with us. Lane trying to [53:13] remain unbeaten, by the way. Junior [53:15] varsity contest earlier tonight. A 6760 [53:18] victory for the Bengals. [53:22] >> Trying to make it a JV varsity sweep in [53:24] the night cap. [53:28] a three-point White Bear Lake lead. They [53:30] led 3626 at halftime. [53:35] >> Gardin set to trigger it in once he gets [53:37] the okay to play and does [53:41] >> and a long lead pass behind the defense. [53:44] McQuay right hand shot [cheering] [53:46] blocked. It's going to be goalending. [53:48] >> It'll be goalending. [53:51] >> Looks like it went off Looks like it [53:53] went off the backboard first. [53:56] Look at the official replay here. Watch [53:58] the ball go off the backboard. Yes, [54:00] absolutely. [54:01] >> And good effort by Seammens. [54:03] >> Just not sure what happened there at all [54:05] on Blaine for defense. Just letting him [54:08] get around every single defender. The [54:10] slippery Will McQuay got away for the [54:12] Bengal defense and does get two points [54:15] out of it. Seammens on the other end [54:17] finds Clark. Back to Seammens now. [54:20] Aayite. Seammens with it again near [54:23] midcourt for Clark. Clark on the right [54:27] side. Clark will survey and now bounce [54:30] it to the baseline for Olsson. And his [54:32] pass was not there, but that's because [54:34] Aayite was bumped and fouled from [54:36] behind. [54:40] >> And they'll get McQuay for that one. [54:42] That'll be the first against White Bear [54:44] Lake. And McQuay's first personal. [54:48] 1428 to go. Regulation time. White Bear [54:51] Lake leading 40-35. They're looking for [54:54] their second win at this venue this [54:55] season. Their only home win this far. [54:58] They beat Woodberry by nine back on [55:00] December 12th. And at this point for [55:01] Whitebear Lake, anything is better than [55:03] what happened last night. A [55:06] >> short memory for those guys. Clark with [55:08] it. Right wing three. Got it. [cheering] [55:10] Two-point game. [55:12] >> This crowd is getting into it on this [55:13] Blaine side. The first half it was very [55:16] loud over there on the the orange side [55:19] of things. Not so much here in the [55:22] second half. [55:22] >> Nine points for Owen Clark. He averages [55:24] three and a half with the basketball. [55:27] Cardinus into the front court for [55:28] McQuay. A 12 to4 run to start this [55:32] second half in favor of Blaine. [55:34] >> Piper just inside the arc left side. [55:36] Dishes to Anderson now to Cardinis. [55:39] Throws it down low for Krider. Crider [55:42] with 13 to shoot. looking. Poked away [55:44] from him. Gets it back. Throws it over [55:47] to Cardinz. Eight to shoot. Cardinz at [55:50] the foul line. Hands it off for Piper. [55:52] Three shot clock. He'll let a three go [55:54] to try to bas [55:57] [cheering] [55:58] [applause] [55:59] >> right at the shot clock buzzer. McQuay [56:01] got it away and draws the foul. And [56:04] three free throws coming for Will [56:05] McQuay. [56:08] And Bernard Ward, he is absolutely [56:10] imploring his players to stay locked in [56:13] right now. [56:14] >> Semens will pick up the personal number [56:16] two on him. The team second. [56:20] >> Will McQuay, the junior, averages just [56:22] under 10 a game. Knocks down the first [56:24] foul shot. Two more coming. [56:29] >> 1331 to go. Regulation time. [56:38] One more or two more rather coming from [56:40] McQuay. [56:42] >> And the second one no good. One more. [56:45] [applause] [56:46] [cheering] [56:49] >> Three-point lead for White Bear Lake. [56:55] >> McQuay's third shot. No good. Too [56:57] strong. The rebound. Offensive for Piper [57:00] for Krider. Poked away but tracked down [57:02] by McQuay on the left side. Dangerous [57:04] pass after the rebound by Piper. Wiper [57:07] leg. I'd be lucky they held on to it [57:08] until now. [57:09] >> Knocked away by and then stolen by Ga. [57:12] Head to Aayet. Puts it up and in. It's a [57:14] one-point game. [57:16] >> It looked like Cardano's [57:18] may have had a chance of blocking it. [57:20] Just didn't get all of it. [57:21] >> Twoon one the other end and the shot [57:23] waved off. [57:25] >> McQuay got the basket, but it's waved [57:27] off. a foul before the fact. [57:33] >> And these Blaine fans continue [57:36] >> to not be very happy about the [57:38] officiating. [57:43] >> So Gam, no charity stripe. We're going [57:46] to keep it on the floor. [57:48] >> And they waved off a shot. Everybody was [57:50] lined up at the foul line, but [57:53] >> I do realize it is an on the floor foul. [57:59] And right now our officials doing a [58:00] little crowd control and trying to keep [58:03] control of this game. [58:08] >> It'll be the third foul against Blaine. [58:13] >> Five minutes have gone here in the [58:15] second half and at this point White Bear [58:17] Lakes just trying to survive. Genta by [58:19] the way picked up the personal number [58:21] one on him down low. Crider leaning and [58:23] shooting gets it a go. Absolutely [58:26] gorgeous use of the glass. [58:28] >> 43 to 40 inside. 13 minutes to go. It's [58:31] going to be a really fun finish from [58:33] White Bear. Seammens with the [58:35] basketball. Crosscourt skip pass to [58:37] Olsen up top byite. Driving in. Bounce [58:41] pass down low. Layup off the glass. No [58:43] good. Olsen got his own miss and puts it [58:45] up and in. [58:45] >> And the video scoreboard has gone down [58:48] on this side. Looks like we had a [58:49] one-point game now. [58:51] >> 4342. [58:53] 12 and 1/2 minutes to go here in [58:55] regulation. [58:56] >> Luckily, our monitor here is still [58:57] locked in with with the uh the jumbotron [59:00] even though the big screen is down. [59:02] >> Cross timeline. Cardinus hands off to [59:05] McQuay. McQuay will back it out and set [59:08] up the offense. Throws it to Piper. Top [59:11] of the key. Piper loss it too far for [59:13] Grider. Out of bounds and now Blaine a [59:15] chance to retake the lead with a bucket [59:17] this time down. Way too much spice there [59:20] on that on that loft pass from Piper. [59:25] >> 1208 to go. Blaine has trailed for most [59:27] of this contest. They can retake the [59:29] lead with a bucket here. [59:31] >> And now at this point, Gavin Olsen has [59:34] 17 points. [59:37] >> Ait inside the arc, kicks it out. Ball [59:40] loose on the floor. Clark trying to keep [59:42] the possession alive and gets called for [59:45] a travel. [59:46] >> [cheering] [59:46] >> He had a lot of bodies on the ground [59:48] over there. [59:50] >> And Woods will check back in. He will [59:52] spell Cardinus for White Bear Lake. [59:56] >> 4342. [59:57] 1152 to go. [59:59] >> That was an awkward fall. [60:00] >> Yeah, thankfully everybody appears to be [60:02] okay. [60:03] >> Yeah, Owen Clark on the receiving end [60:05] there, but as you can see, [60:08] >> every part of him is ready to go right [60:09] now. [60:10] >> Throws it down low. Cry to reverse layup [60:12] off the feed from Piper. A lot better [60:14] pass there from Piper than the one he [60:16] threw 30 seconds ago. [60:17] >> Eight points for Preston Crider, the 65 [60:20] junior to the baseline. Olsen bounce [60:24] pass will go to Clark. And now up top [60:25] Iet Aite. Crosscourt skip pass. Three [60:30] ball on the way for the tie. It's good [60:31] for Ga. All knodded up here at Whitebear [60:36] Lake. 45 all 1116 to go. Regulation [60:40] time. [60:43] in the back court. McQuay, [60:46] >> he'll get it across timeline. Hounded by [60:48] Seammens, who's got those two fouls. [60:51] McQuay fouled. [cheering] [60:54] [applause] [60:56] That'll be the fourth against the [60:57] Bengals. They'll get Seammens. And now [61:00] Barrett Swanson getting ready to check [61:02] into the game. [61:03] >> And Mills is on the floor [61:06] >> for Blade. That's a big foul. Henry [61:09] Seammons, the talented sophomore, picks [61:10] up his third. [61:13] There [61:13] >> was some hand fighting between him and [61:15] McQuay, but Seammens is the guilty [61:16] party. [61:19] >> Swanson will trigger it in and throws to [61:21] Piper. Piper baby sky hook around the [61:23] rim. No good. I the rebound and now a [61:26] chance for Blaine to retake the lead for [61:28] the first time since early in the first [61:30] half. Aayite throws it away. And then [61:33] Swanson draws the foul after picking up [61:35] the steal. [61:36] >> Swanson getting into the game [61:38] immediately drawing that foul. [61:42] That'll be the fifth against Blaine and [61:44] number one under Royce Mills. [61:48] >> We continue to have jumbotron problems [61:49] here. Now instead of saying Blaine, it [61:51] says Owatana is the visiting team. But [61:54] the important part is that the score is [61:55] still right. Oh, that didn't work. Long [61:57] lead pass ahead. McQuay is able to come [61:59] away with it. Got behind the defense. [62:01] Couldn't handle it cleanly and [62:02] eventually stolen by Olsen. Now on the [62:05] other end, the Bengals try to keep it in [62:06] bounds and do fall away. Dumper is [62:08] banked in to give Blaine the lead back. [62:11] Heck of a play by Aayite. [62:15] He's in double figures with 10. 4745. [62:18] Blaine by two. [cheering] [62:22] 1023 to go here in regulation. [62:25] Across midcourt. McQuay bounce pass to [62:28] Crider left side. Crider for Piper left [62:32] elbow. Piper spinning looking for the [62:34] baseline. Poked away and stolen. Aayit [62:37] [applause and cheering] [62:38] Shiloh Aayit having a much more active [62:40] second half. [62:42] >> We're getting down to triple digits [62:43] here. 10 minutes to play. [62:45] >> Aayite in the right side. Throws it up [62:48] top and gets it back from Seammens. [62:53] Left side now for Ga to Mills. Mills [62:55] back out to Ga. Gmp at the foul line. [62:58] Throws it down low. Olsen behind the [63:00] defense off the glass and in. [63:03] 4945. [63:05] Gavin Olsson's got 19. [63:08] 937 to go here in regulation. Four-point [63:11] Bengal lead. [63:12] >> White Bear Lake. They've only scored [63:14] nine points this half. [63:16] >> And a whistle jump ball called. They [63:18] tied up McQuay as he got across the [63:20] midcourt strike. [63:22] >> 23-9 is the current second half score in [63:26] favor of Blaine. [63:27] >> Subs in for the Bears. Zack Turner 510 [63:29] sophomore averaging three and a half. He [63:31] is in the game for the first time along [63:33] with Aaylor. Lavic is back on the floor [63:35] for the Bengals. [63:37] >> All of that energy that the Bears were [63:40] playing with at the beginning of this [63:42] game, it just has completely subsided. [63:44] They have done a great job slowing down [63:47] Colin Piper who's now on the bench, [63:50] left side of the floor. Throw it to [63:53] Olsen. Skip pass up top. Lavick out to [63:56] the left side. Olsen, he'll launch a [63:58] three. Highing ball is good. He's got [64:00] 22. [64:02] Seven-point Bengal lead, their largest [64:08] and a white bare leg desperate for [64:10] Ranchers as we hit the 9-minute mark [64:13] into the front court. Turner draws a [64:16] double team and passes out of it to Aers [64:18] and a whistle. A timeout taken by Aaron [64:21] Turner. And everybody on this Blaine [64:24] side just went to their feet. the bench, [64:26] the fans. It is electrified [64:31] this Bengal bench. [64:32] >> They had 26 points in the first half. [64:34] They've got 26 thus far in half number [64:37] two. Great ball movement. Everybody [64:40] seems to be touching the floor every [64:41] time or touching the ball every time [64:43] they go down the floor. But how about [64:45] that guy Gavin Olsen stepping out and [64:47] making plays. A mismatch for a lot of [64:49] guys. And he's got 22 to help his team [64:51] grab their largest lead. [64:56] a 5245 [64:58] Blaine advantage. [64:59] >> And I tell you what's really impressed [65:01] me is that is that Bernard Ward, he [65:05] hasn't really been micromanaging these [65:06] players. They still got five timeouts [65:08] left there on the Blaine side. Bernard [65:11] Ward has really just been letting these [65:13] Bengals figure this out on the floor and [65:15] they've cracked the code here at White [65:17] Bear Lake. And now Whitebear is looking [65:19] for answers on there and trying to find [65:21] a way to get back in this one. [65:25] a 5245 [65:27] Blaine lead. They're looking to end the [65:29] 2025 portion of their schedule at 9 [65:31] and0. [65:34] White Bear Lake, you wonder if fatigue [65:35] may settle in before too long. They had [65:37] that tough loss last night on this floor [65:40] against Oio. Blaine of course got a [65:42] forfeit victory. Little more fresh legs, [65:45] but how does that impact this second [65:47] half? [65:50] 854 to go in regulation. Seven-point [65:53] Bengal lead 54 to 52 rather to 45. [65:57] >> It has been a true tale of two halves [65:59] here on the Galvin Court tonight. [66:03] >> White Bear Lake led 3626 at the break. [66:06] >> The question at this point as we see a [66:09] really a substitutionheavy lineup here [66:11] for White Bear Lake is do they have one [66:14] more jolt of energy left? Woods with it [66:17] left side driving in. Runner left short [66:19] rebound and a foul called out of it. [66:22] Olson comes away with it. [66:24] >> Everything is coming up blue here in the [66:26] second half. [66:29] >> And the officials doing a little more [66:31] control trying to make sure this game [66:33] doesn't get out of hand from anybody. [66:36] [applause] [66:37] >> And I don't think it would possibly get [66:38] to this level, but we've already seen it [66:40] a couple times this year, most notably [66:43] with Hopkins and Tartan where the crowd [66:45] can really impact the game and just [66:48] completely thrown it off the rails. [66:50] Swanson picks up the personal number one [66:52] on him, the team second. Four new Bears [66:55] are in the ball game, including Piper. [66:58] They got a huge first half from him and [66:59] they're going to need a big second half [67:01] from him as well. [67:02] >> They are going to need a massive stretch [67:04] run. [67:05] >> Aite throws it off the glass and in. [67:07] Runner in the lane. Npoint Bengal lead. [67:10] >> Meanwhile, Aayite has 12 now. He had [67:14] four at the break. Eight points here in [67:16] the second half. He is finding his [67:18] groove in the front court with McQuay. [67:21] McQuay defended by Mills near midcourt. [67:24] Poked away and out of bounds off of [67:26] McQuay. And Olsson's got 22. He's got [67:29] more than Piper now. He be he just [67:32] became the game's leading scorer. [67:36] >> 817 to go. Regulation time. The lead is [67:39] nine for the Blaine Bengals. [67:42] across midcourt. Aayite to the baseline [67:45] for Olsson. Pull up jumper. No good. But [67:48] the rebound is offensive. Back to [67:50] Aayite. Puts up a runner and gets it to [67:53] drop. [67:55] And the first double digit lead tonight [67:56] for the Bengals. [67:58] Eightminute mark here in regulation. [68:02] Gardinas within the back court. We are [68:05] in the final quarter of this game and it [68:08] looks like White Bear Lake might be all [68:10] out of juice. And a foul called. Going [68:12] for the steal. Ga picks up the personal [68:14] trying to pick McQuay's pocket. [68:18] >> You got eight fouls across both teams in [68:22] this half of basketball. We only had had [68:25] four total in the first half. Number one [68:28] on Gimpa. The team six, the last to give [68:31] for Blaine. [68:33] 747 to play. [68:36] White Bear Lake needs an answer in a [68:38] hurry. Piper receives the inbounds pass [68:40] and throws it back to Cardinus. Puts up [68:42] a jumper. Gets it to go. Big time shot [68:44] for Cardinas. [68:46] And that is the that is the most recent [68:49] bucket for White Bear Lake since the [68:51] previous winter solstice. It's been a [68:53] long time since White Bear Lake has [68:55] scored. First points tonight for Nick [68:58] Cardinis. The 6-2 senior averages 11 and [69:01] a half per game [69:04] to the foul line for Ga. Kicks it out. [69:06] And now driving in Mills back to GT who [69:09] gets fouled and he'll go to the line to [69:10] shoot two. [69:13] 717 to go. 5647 Blaine by nine. [69:20] And of course still plenty of time. It's [69:22] only a 9-point lead. [69:25] If you're Blaine, a lot can happen. [69:27] Still plenty of time. [69:30] >> First foul shot is good. Foul, by the [69:32] way, was on McQuay. Number two on him. [69:34] The team's third. [69:37] And with that free throw, Gima now in [69:40] double digits with 10. [69:43] >> One more coming [69:45] >> and he makes it. [69:48] 5847 lead back up to 11. Gardinas in the [69:52] corner. Gardinas survey looking for [69:57] help. Guarded by Aayite. [70:00] Gardinas crosses over and drives in. [70:02] Lost the basketball. Taken away by [70:04] Mills. Oh, he looked the wrong way for [70:05] it. Doesn't matter though. That's going [70:07] to be goending. [cheering and applause] [70:09] >> The basket will count for Ga Piper [70:13] trying to run him down. The shot went in [70:15] anyway, but the whistle and sounded. [70:17] It's a goalend. [70:19] And it's the largest Bangal lead at 60 [70:21] to 47. [70:23] 658 to go here in regulation. [70:28] Gardinas in the back court. Gardinas [70:31] works it ahead. Bounce pass down low. [70:34] Anderson runs the floor but can't get it [70:36] to go. Rebound for Olsson. [70:38] Here comes the Bengals looking to [70:41] stretch the lead a little bit more. [70:44] Mills near midcart to the right side. [70:48] Throws it down low and now back out. [70:51] Poked away. Loose ball and then picked [70:53] back up by Aite. Six and a half minutes [70:56] to go. Aayite pullup jumper right foul [70:59] line extended. No good. Rebound Cardinas [71:04] and Cardinus [71:06] look to settle things down. [71:08] >> Bengals have done a sensational job here [71:10] in the second half of getting up close [71:12] and personal. [71:14] >> Piper Lake throws it down low to Crider [71:16] who gets fouled and he'll go to the line [71:18] to shoot two. [71:20] >> Preston Grider, we saw him suffer an [71:23] injury early in the game. Good to see [71:25] back in the floor and playing well. He's [71:27] got eight points [71:29] at the line shooting two. The vows [71:31] against Gimpa, his second to team [71:33] seventh. [71:37] >> 606 to play. There's B shot from Krider. [71:41] No good. One more coming. [71:44] >> And that free throw has essentially [71:47] summed up this second half for White [71:49] Bear Lake. They've just now gotten to 11 [71:52] total points here in the second half. [71:55] Second shot on the way. Makes it splits [71:57] the pair. [71:59] 60- 48. Blaine a 12-point lead and the [72:03] ball as we hit the six-minute mark. [72:06] Left side it goes for Ga. Genta down the [72:10] lane. Shovels underneath and now back [72:12] out. Aayite long three. No good. Rebound [72:16] is pulled down by White Bear Lake [72:18] Sanderson. [72:20] Time is running out for White Bear Lake. [72:23] Do they have one more jolt of energy [72:26] left in them? They can get it down to [72:28] single digits with a three on this [72:30] possession. Ball away jumper. McQuay [72:32] left short but tracks down his own [72:34] rebound. McQuay to Krider on the right [72:37] side. Crider kicks it out. Three on the [72:40] way. Cardinus no good. Rebound kept [72:43] alive. Loose on the floor. Cardinus [72:45] dives for it and the foul's cold. [72:46] >> An absolute car crash. And now it looks [72:49] like looks like Cardanas may have been [72:52] kneede in the head there at the end. And [72:55] it honestly it looks like Aaron Turner [72:57] is is accusing [73:00] >> Cardinus get the foul. [73:02] >> Looks like Turner is accusing Lavic of [73:04] maybe not really avoiding him. [73:08] >> That'll be the third and Cardinis the [73:10] team's fourth and he will sit. [73:14] >> 520 to go here in regulation. [73:18] Time is starting to become a factor, but [73:20] still an opportunity for White Bear [73:22] Lake. [73:24] >> Here's a look at this car crash of a [73:26] rebound. And watch Lavoc here at the [73:28] end. Oh no, it didn't look like anything [73:29] was malicious there. Speaking of Lavoc, [73:32] he's got the ball. Dishes over to Kim. [73:35] Gente moving inside New York to Lavic [73:37] left side. Final five minutes. Where has [73:40] this game gone? Aite back to Lavick. [73:44] Lavick to the right side now to the [73:47] baseline and into the corner. It's [73:48] Olsson. Back up to Lavoc working it [73:51] around the horn. Five to shoot. Three [73:53] for Mills. No good. Rebound for Piper. [73:57] And the Bears got to get a run going and [73:59] string some possessions together that [74:00] end with made baskets. [74:04] >> Those have been at a premium for White [74:07] Bear Lake. This three would help. [74:08] McQuain knocks it down. Singledigit game [74:11] with 430 to go. [74:14] Well, [74:14] >> Will McQuay is in a nice game tonight. [74:16] He's in double figures with 12. [74:20] >> 420 left to go. [74:21] >> You got three players on the floor. [74:24] >> And one opportunity for Shiloh Aayet. [74:27] >> Finishes through contact. [74:29] >> You got three players on the floor for [74:30] Blaine who are all in double figures. [74:33] And Aayite adding to his stack tonight. [74:35] That's 16. [74:39] And a chance at the foul line as [74:41] Seammens and Clark will check back in. [74:44] [cheering] [74:45] >> Third foul on McQuay, the team's fifth. [74:49] Ryanwood Whitebear Lake got a big triple [74:51] to get it down to single digits. Shiloh [74:54] Aayete responds. [74:57] Quiet first half, but he has been big [74:59] here in the second and one free throw. [75:02] No good. Piper had the rebound then [75:03] poked away out of bounds. It'll stay [75:05] with White Bear Lake. [75:08] This game separated by 11 points. [75:13] >> Winter Lake [75:16] needs to get it going. 416 to go. They [75:20] got to get it up the court. Anderson to [75:23] Woods who does get it across the [75:25] dividing line. Woods left side. Woods. A [75:29] bounce pass now to the left elbow for [75:31] Krider. Crider trying to back down his [75:34] defender. staying in bounds. [75:36] walking the tight rope up top. Three on [75:38] the way for Anderson. No good. Rebound [75:41] for Olsen. Twoon one the other end. [75:43] >> Watch out here. [75:44] >> Aayite through traffic. Doesn't get it [75:46] to go. Rebound offensive for Seammens. [75:48] And then he's fouled by Woods. [75:50] [applause] [75:52] >> And that was White Bear Lake's last foul [75:54] to give. The first personal on Jonathan [75:56] Woods. [75:56] >> I tell you what, Anderson did as good of [75:58] a job as he possibly could with that [76:00] twoon-one coming right at him. [76:04] 346 to go in this one. 6251 [76:08] Blaine an 11-point lead. And now finally [76:12] Blaine takes a timeout. [76:14] >> I didn't know they could do that. [76:16] >> That'll be their first. [76:18] Both teams are back in action a week [76:20] from tonight. Blaine will head to Rogers [76:23] for a 7:00 tip. [76:25] >> And mighty Cretton Durham Hall comes [76:27] here for a 7:00 game. [76:29] >> Woof to say the very least. Create and [76:32] Durham Hall is going to be quite the [76:35] challenge for Whitebear Lake. [76:38] >> This was a 10-point White Bear Lake lead [76:40] at halftime 36-26. They had 19 from [76:44] Colin Piper. [76:46] >> We got White Bear Lakes's upcoming [76:48] schedule here. Obviously, the Creek and [76:49] Durm Hall game against one of the [76:51] commits to the University of Minnesota. [76:53] Then they'll be on the road at [76:54] Stillwater and then you see the rest [76:56] there progressing through the month of [76:58] January and into February. Not a whole [77:00] lot of soft spots in that schedule. [77:02] >> No, [77:03] >> that is a grind coming up for White Bear [77:04] Lake. [77:05] >> Rochester Mayo, Eastridge, Mountain [77:07] View. Oh my goodness. [77:11] >> But that's why you play these games. You [77:13] want to be playing your best basketball [77:14] by the time February and March rolls [77:16] around. [77:19] That's why you schedule a game like this [77:20] against a Bengal team off to a historic [77:23] start trying to move to 9 and0 in the [77:25] 2526 season. Talking about the Gophers a [77:28] little bit, I'm sure these Bengals [77:31] realizing they're off to an 8-0 start, [77:33] looking like they're going to go to 9 [77:34] and0 tonight. They would love to make a [77:37] trip to the Target Center this year and [77:40] maybe even play some games at the end at [77:41] Williams. [77:44] 6251 [77:46] 11-point lead for Blaine. They've got [77:49] the basketball. 346 to go. Aayite [77:54] on the left side. This possession could [77:56] be the dagger. [77:57] >> Layup is no good. But a foul called with [78:00] 339 to go [78:03] [applause] [78:05] [cheering] [78:06] and a chance at a three-point play. [78:10] I beg your pardon. I said that was no [78:11] good. He did get it to drop. That's on [78:14] me. So he gets that one and a chance at [78:16] a three-point play. Piper picks up the [78:18] personal number one on him. [78:20] >> And both teams in the bonus and that'll [78:21] send Aite [78:23] to the line. Team fouls even at seven [78:27] and Ait [78:29] cannot convert the three-point play. [78:31] Rebound for Crider and White Bear Lake [78:33] can hurry up Mo. Quick three on the [78:35] other end. No good from Cardinas [78:37] and the rebound for Olson. 3 and 1/2 [78:41] minute mark. 13-point lead for the [78:43] Bengals. And a foul called in the other [78:45] round. And a one and one coming for [78:47] Gent. [78:48] >> And I I thought that Ga slipped there. I [78:51] mean, maybe there was some contact on [78:52] the replay, but I heard his sneaker from [78:55] 100 yards away. [78:57] >> That'll be the fourth against McQuay, [78:59] the team's aid. [79:01] >> Well, 100 yards is a little generous, [79:02] but [79:03] >> this is a very close [79:06] close quarters gym. Gorgeous facility [79:09] here at White Bear Lake High School. One [79:11] of the best views a play-by-play [79:13] broadcaster, color analyst can have. [79:16] >> GMT at the line shooting one and one. [79:18] 327 to go here in regulation. [79:23] One dribble, dips the knees, lets it go. [79:25] No good. Rebound for Piper. They got to [79:28] go in a hurry. [79:30] Bounce pass ahead. McQuay right wing [79:33] three. No good. Did not catch. Iron out [79:35] of bounds off of White Bear Lake. [79:38] [applause] [79:38] >> And at this point, [79:41] I think it's pretty safe to say that [79:43] Blaine can text their bus driver to [79:46] start warming things up. [79:48] How about the job they've done [79:49] defensively on Piper in the second half. [79:52] 19 to the break. He's got two since [79:54] then. [79:55] >> And we saw it right out of halftime. [79:57] They were forcing him to take those [79:58] mid-range shots. The three ball [80:00] absolutely limiting him. He's still done [80:02] some damage on the rebound, but nothing [80:05] like that first half. Left side it goes [80:08] for We hit the 3minute mark here [80:10] in regulation. 64 to 51. Blaine enjoying [80:14] their largest lead of the night. Drilled [80:16] by 10 at halftime. Seammens in the [80:19] paint. Turn around jumper. Gets it off [80:21] the heel of the rim. [80:25] >> 66- 51 [80:28] into the front court. Mcuay. Bounce pass [80:30] for Piper and does not get it to roll [80:33] off the rim and the rebound pulled in by [80:35] Olsson who's fouled. [applause] [80:38] >> And Olsen will go to the line for a one [80:40] and one. Ninth team battle against White [80:42] Bear Lake. [80:46] And the coaching still going on here [80:48] despite this comfortable 15-point lead. [80:52] >> Bernard Ward absolutely not letting his [80:55] team give up the intensity here. [80:58] >> He has done a great job now in his [81:00] second year with his Bengal program. 2 [81:03] minutes and 38 seconds away from a 9 [81:05] and0 start to the season. [81:07] >> And for Bernard Ward, looks like he's [81:09] coming up on his 23rd victory as head [81:12] coach of the Bengals. [81:14] front end of the one and one. No good. [81:16] Piper the rebound. Foul, by the way, was [81:18] the first on Crider. [81:20] >> Woods with it. [81:21] >> 23 and 12. Not a bad way to start your [81:23] your tenure. [81:25] >> Crosscourt skip pass. It'll go to [81:26] Cardinis. [81:28] Cardinus lobs it for Piper. Poked away [81:31] by Gima. [81:33] And Seammens has it taken away from him [81:35] by Cardinus. [81:38] >> McQuay driving the baseline. He's bumped [81:40] and fouled. And he'll go to the line for [81:41] a one and one. [81:43] Now Blaine 16 and 12 last season in year [81:46] one with his coaching staff. [81:48] >> They made the class 4A section 7 [81:51] semifinals [81:53] >> taking a loss to Centennial. A [81:56] three-point loss on March 8th up at [81:58] Anoka High School. [82:00] >> Cross town rivalry in the postseason [82:02] >> after they took a home quarterfinal [82:04] victory in section 7 against Duth East. [82:09] >> Front end of a one and one. Good. One [82:11] more coming from McQuay. [82:12] >> The other side of things for White Bear [82:14] Lake, they lost their road quarterfinal [82:17] at East Ridge 57 to 91 section four. [82:22] >> Whitebear Link 14 and 12 a season ago. [82:25] Second foul shot good. McQuay makes them [82:28] both. [82:29] He's got 13 and that [82:33] will get him within 13. [82:39] Well, the the sun has been set here in [82:42] Minnesota for the last four hours, and [82:44] it appears that the sun is set on this [82:48] game tonight for White Bear Lake. Lavic [82:50] back in with 213 to go. [82:54] 13-point bangle edge. [82:59] And within the back court is Clark [83:01] trying to get it across timeline and [83:03] does. Clark will dish to Iet with three [83:06] white uniforms around him. Somehow finds [83:08] space through traffic and finds Olsen [83:10] who finishes up at the rack and gets [83:12] fouled. [applause and cheering] [83:14] >> Gavin Olsen. Absolutely. And Fuego to [83:17] the tune at 24 points. [83:19] >> A gorgeous play. I have no idea how [83:22] Aayite was able to get out. Look at [83:24] there's three white jerseys there. He [83:26] steps out of it without traveling and [83:28] dishes the dime. [83:30] >> He knew somebody had to be open and [83:31] Olsen was. [83:33] >> I mean, yeah. When you got three jerseys [83:34] on you, there's got to be a couple of [83:36] your own jerseys that are open. [83:39] >> That foul will be the fifth on McQuay. [83:43] >> Under two minutes now. [83:45] >> Double bonus for Blaine. [83:46] >> Sub into the game. Keller read a ball. [83:48] 6-1 sophomore averaging two points per. [83:54] >> Olsson. This could be his 25th point. [83:57] >> Around the rim and in. [cheering] [84:00] >> Big night for Olsen. [84:03] Inside, two to go. 6953. [84:06] 16-point lead for the Blaine Bengals. [84:11] >> Left side it goes. Piper's got it down [84:14] low. Poked away from behind. Aayite [84:17] across timeline. [84:19] >> No foul call there. [84:21] >> Throws it off the glass. Finishing [84:23] through contact. He's got 20. [84:25] >> I a little slow to get up as he was [84:28] maybe fouled about three times on that [84:30] drive. Cardina's jumper is good on the [84:33] other end. [84:34] >> And Aayite looks like he's fine now. [84:36] Under 90 seconds to play and Aayit just [84:39] got up to 20 if you're wondering. [84:42] >> Lavic with it. [84:44] >> And a whistle. He is bumped and fouled. [84:46] And he won't go to the line to shoot [84:48] two. Double bonus time with a minute 17 [84:50] to go. [84:55] >> And they'll get random for it or check [84:58] that Piper rather. [85:01] That'll be his second. A [85:03] >> frustrating half for Piper and these [85:05] Bears. [85:08] >> Aiden Lavick's first foul shot. Good. [85:10] Talented freshman, a guy they've got [85:12] very high hopes for. [85:15] >> Ryder is back in the game. He will spell [85:17] Piper who departs with 21 points. Only [85:19] two after halftime. [85:21] >> And all of his teammates get to their [85:23] feet to dap him up on the way out. I [85:26] imagine [screaming] that's going to be [85:27] the last of him tonight. Second foul [85:29] shot good. Lavic makes them both. [85:32] 73- 55. Anderson with it. Finds Cardinis [85:37] driving the baseline. Step back jumper [85:39] is good. [85:41] And Cardinus has six points. [85:44] Final minute of regulation. [85:47] Aayite bounce pass to Clark. Ahead to [85:50] Lavick. Out of the baseline. Olsen with [85:53] 55 to go. Finds Ait down low. AI will [85:58] back it out and set up the offense [85:59] guarded by Woods. [86:00] >> A 47point [86:03] second half so far for Blaine. Deflected [86:06] ball out of bounds and it's turned over [86:08] to White Bear Lake with 41.6 left to go. [86:15] Blaine is two points away from matching [86:17] their season high in scoring after they [86:19] had 26 points at halftime. [86:21] >> 47-21 [86:24] is the second half score. Oh no. Thrown [86:27] away. And Genta throws it down. The [86:30] one-handed flush for Tagenta. He's got [86:33] 15. [86:35] [cheering] [86:36] >> And now check this out. [86:39] >> Here's Cardinus. Jumper. No good. [86:41] >> And check this out. Tanner, I told you [86:42] at the beginning of the game that Blaine [86:44] holds their opponents to 56 points a [86:46] game. You look at that scoreboard and [86:48] >> it didn't look good after the first [86:49] half, but [86:51] >> they held up their end of the bargain. [86:53] >> Foul called. Aite will go to the line to [86:56] shoot two. Blane has matched their [86:58] season high in scoring. They've gotten a [87:00] 75 twice back on December 4th against [87:03] Forest Lake and most recently December [87:06] 18th at Anoka. [87:08] A chance at a new season high in scoring [87:11] with 16 seconds left. And Shiloh Aayit a [87:15] big second half for him. He had four [87:17] points at the break. He's got 20 now [87:20] and make it 21. [87:23] [applause] [87:24] One more coming. [87:27] >> He's 17 to this point. [87:32] >> Second half for Aite. [87:35] >> No Bengals on the block. Second foul [87:37] shot. No good. Rebound for Anderson. [87:39] Shot clock turned off. [87:40] >> It looks like they're not going to [87:41] dribble it out. They're looking for some [87:42] more points. [87:44] >> Cardinis on the baseline. Puts it up and [87:46] in through contact and he will go to the [87:48] line to shoot one. [87:51] And Owen Clark kind of beside himself, [87:54] smiling there. And [87:56] >> this will probably wrap things up here. [87:58] Second on Clark, the team's ninth. [88:02] >> Cardinas with eight points all in the [88:04] second half. [88:06] At the line shooting one and it's no [88:09] good. Rebound offensive. The putback for [88:11] Woods is good. They don't even have to [88:13] inbound it. And Olsson will not. The [88:16] Blaine Bengals are 9 and0 to start the [88:19] season. They rally from a 10-point [88:21] halftime deficit and they take it 76- [88:25] 61. [88:27] [applause] [88:29] A 15-point victory for the Blaine [88:32] Bengals. [88:34] They remain undefeated. [88:36] Didn't look good early. And credit White [88:38] Bear Lake. Maybe some tired legs there [88:40] in the second half, but got to give a [88:42] lot of credit to Bernie Ward and his [88:43] coaching staff. The job they did after [88:46] halftime. They didn't get a whole lot [88:48] going their way in that first 18minute [88:50] uh stanza and they really found a way to [88:52] turn the tide and play the kind of [88:53] basketball they're accustomed to. [88:55] >> An absolutely sensational second half of [88:58] basketball for the Blaine Bengals. [89:00] >> I tell you what, we'll take a look back [89:02] at some of the key moments from this [89:04] one. A lot of storylines you can pick [89:06] out of this. It was old Colin Piper in [89:08] the first half. 19 of his 21 came before [89:11] the break. But tell you what, Blaine's [89:13] got some key players, too. Owen Clark [89:15] scored well above his average and Gavin [89:17] Olsen really got it done. He was the [89:19] high score on both ends with 25. And I [89:22] tell you what, he was getting her done [89:25] for Blaine tonight. Olsen absolutely [89:27] coming alive with the rest of his [89:29] teammates in that second half, finishing [89:31] with 25 [applause] [89:33] points on the night. [89:35] >> Genta of course had a huge second half [89:37] and so did that guy. Shiloh Aayet [89:39] finishes with 21. He had four at [89:42] halftime. Blaine was able to find a way [89:44] to rally after the break and they keep [89:47] their undefeated season alive through [89:49] the new year. Nine and0 the start of the [89:52] year. You want to consider it 8 and0 [89:54] with the asterisk there of the the [89:56] forfeit victory from last night. But [89:58] nonetheless, this Blaine team, [90:00] especially the one we saw in the second [90:01] half tonight, is a force to be reckoned [90:03] with. So Blaine remains unbeaten. White [90:06] Bear Lake meanwhile dips to three and [90:08] five. Both teams are back in action a [90:11] week from tonight. Blaine is and Rogers [90:13] and Green Durham Hall will be here [90:15] taking on these Bears. Both of those [90:18] games will tip off at 7:00. Fun [90:21] non-conference basketball. Again, two [90:23] teams that don't see each other a whole [90:24] lot. Last year, last time they met two [90:26] years ago was a barn burner. Not quite [90:28] that this uh this time around, but still [90:31] pretty uh pretty fun to see overall. And [90:34] tell you what, 7661 a new season high in [90:37] scoring for Blaine. And they pick up [90:39] that 15-point victory. give them a ton [90:41] of credit. Thought White Bear Lake did a [90:43] lot of good things. They just went up [90:45] against a team that's got it firing on [90:46] all cylinders right now. [90:48] >> Most certainly. And what a way to end [90:50] the year. We've seen some great games [90:52] here in in the year 2025. [music] [90:54] And this is right up there for one of [90:56] the most entertaining ones I've seen [90:58] this year. [91:01] >> So, I tell you, we'll take a look at [91:02] what else we've got coming up here on [91:04] SECTV. And we're going to get it going [91:07] once again after the new year ourselves. [91:09] Boys hockey from Mameidi. Northfield [91:11] will make the trip up north and then [91:13] girls basketball a couple days after [91:15] that. We'll be right back here as White [91:17] Bear Lake takes on Stillwater. And then [91:19] the boys, we'll see them against [91:20] Roseville area coming up on January the [91:23] 14th. Be on the lookout for those games [91:25] coming up on SEC TV. And a fun one [91:29] tonight, 76-61 [91:31] the final as the Blaine Bengals move to [91:34] 9 and0. They take down White Bear Lake [91:36] in non-conference action. Thanks to all [91:38] of our sponsors who make it possible for [91:40] us to do what we do. We thank our entire [91:42] production staff, everybody at SECTV, [91:45] and of course, we thank you for tuning [91:46] in. Hope you enjoy the broadcast. For [91:49] Carl Warner, my name's Tanner Hoops, [91:51] your final once again, Blaine 76, White [91:53] Bear [music] Lake 61. This has been High [91:56] School Holiday Hoops on SEC TV. [92:03] Heat. Heat. [music]
