Why is this referendum happening now? Like many districts, we're facing real financial pressures. We've already made $2 million in budget adjustments for the 2025 2026 school year. We're facing numerous challenges from inflation outpacing funding and rising health insurance costs to workforce shortages, a competitive labor market, underfunded legislative mandates, and increased transportation costs. If this operating referendum doesn't pass, the budget issues will force us to increase class sizes, reduce programming, and most likely cut staff. Our district has been very good stewards of your taxpayer dollars. In the past, when we've asked you for additional funding, we've delivered on what we've promised. If this operating referendum doesn't pass, we will be forced to unwind a lot of the progress we've made over the last 3 to 5 years. Visit our website to learn more and vote on or before Tuesday, November 4th.
