Um so [0:13] much to learn about different [0:16] departments, different what different [0:18] things that they do as police officers, [0:20] investigators, [0:22] making traffic stops, fraud, just [0:24] anything that has to do with with being [0:27] a police officer. uh you don't realize [0:30] behind the scenes what they do until [0:31] actually you've been through the class [0:33] and it's very very uh uh energizing to [0:36] see that [0:40] >> you [0:41] sir [0:42] >> thank you so much [0:44] >> I am an instructor in what's called the [0:46] EVOC emergency vehicle operations course [0:49] so law enforcement in the state of [0:51] Minnesota has to go through training [0:53] every 5 years by law but what they have [0:55] to do is come down and get certified [0:58] side in driving their squad car. So, we [1:00] teach car control, [1:03] high-speed pursuit, and in those [1:05] agencies where the pit maneuver is [1:07] allowed, we teach pit maneuver as well. [1:09] And so, since I am the only instructor [1:11] on staff who does not have a law [1:14] enforcement background, there's 18 of [1:16] us. I'm the only one who does not have a [1:17] law enforcement background. I thought [1:19] this would be a really good way for me [1:21] to get a better understanding of what my [1:22] students do on a daily basis, and it [1:25] absolutely met those requirements. I [1:27] would say 100% do it. It's a great [1:30] learning uh process. Uh you you won't [1:33] regret it. Um and you'll have a great [1:36] time and you'll meet a lot of nice [1:37] people and make some friends. Well worth [1:39] the investment in the 10 weeks here. [1:41] Well worth it.
