Is this something that obviously is different than the resolution under 4 A? >> Yes. >> Council member Hen asked on the >> Yes, we talked about this. [clears throat] >> Oh, yeah. >> Two two months ago or three months ago? Two months ago about the um the safety grant money that we have. Um Kim, maybe was it around $14,000 we got? Do you remember total >> Tim Kim? Was it about It was like 14,000. >> A little under 15. >> Okay. So, we got $14,000 some dollars. We gave $5,000 previously like two. It's been a while. So maybe >> we got it in fall of 2023. So I think we gave it in spring of 2024. >> Yeah. So we in 2024 we gave $5,000 of the 14 some thousand. So we have [clears throat] um 9,000 some left. I was I was curious if we would be able to donate another $5,000 to the fire district and we'd still have the 4,000 some left over. [clears throat] And I don't know what the some of the rules were. Like we could you can only do so much stuff with it. It's not like it's just free money to spend on anything. Um but this is again we've been sitting on this for a while and um the fire [clears throat] district could use the money. >> Well, we you know some of the stuff we can use like we might have two to three new members and the turnout gear. we have to buy him new gear and it's $8 to $9,000 for turnout gear. Uh that's some of the stuff. Uh flack jackets. I know we bought some. I don't know if everybody got one or it was up to the members if they wanted a flack jacket. They were $800 to $900 a piece. And then also radios, all kinds of different stuff. So, >> um >> every little bit helps. We we were at a point here just recently where all of our extra turnout gear expired. So the new members couldn't take any training because they didn't we don't have that they require >> and they can't move on in their class unless they have up-to-date gear. >> So it's and and again everything is getting expensive the turnout gear. Um yeah, it it so but we did we were discussing and I think they approved that we were going to use the safety money grant to purchase the new generator. Um what do we have 40,000 45,000? >> It's probably going to be 40 to 50,000 depending on Yeah. >> What we end up Yeah. I think we're still kind of a little bit toss up, but we do have a little extra time that we're we um to um get the generator replaced. Can we designate what we want to have it go towards? >> Yes, I think we can. >> Does anybody have any ideas as to I mean just to be on the safe side to have it, you know, go to the generator or go to the whatever the recruits. >> Well, I make sure it goes to the right spot [laughter] and so does Tim. But uh yeah, we can >> Yeah, if you have a suggestion if you place to to donate it, what to spend it on, we can do that. I mean, we could come back at the next meeting and we could at our next board meeting uh next Wednesday. We could >> get the wish list and see or you know what they want on a list, >> an updated list. >> You know, we've kind of uh danced around this for quite a while and I think we probably ought to >> get it over with if we can tonight. And so is there any further discussion concerning this additional safety training dollars and maybe any further discussion as to whether anybody's got a real strong preference as to what it goes towards? >> I mean, what do you guys think are their immediate needs, >> but the generator was is the big one, the big one of their bigger money um items. >> Yeah. >> So, I'll make a motion that we give $5,000 to the lower St. Croy Valley Fire Fire Department um to be uh put towards the purchase of a new generator. Uh any uh thing new Kim going on? >> Uh mayor and council members, I did have a couple of complaints throughout the community which are confidential and the city will be contacting those that need to be contacted. >> Who contacts them? You or depends on who what the issue is. >> Uh no, I do unless you would like to. Well, I I was just curious if if some of these things would involve, you know, an attorney that would contact somebody over depending on I was just curious. Okay. >> We we try not to go that route ever. Pause. >> Well, I make a motion Tim Shorter starts addressing. >> I was going to say Kim's got a big [laughter] stick. I did that years ago. >> Um, so it basically means that you're going to send out a letter to whoever the complaints about. >> I'm going to call him first. >> Okay. >> Thank you, Kim. Yep. Thank you, Kim. >> Then that's the only update I have. >> Going on to the mayor and council reports. Uh council member Schroeder. >> Uh I just have a couple things to mention. They did do the seal code or the oil code. That seemed that turned out good on the streets that were done. And then also I believe uh the fire department's having a pancake breakfast. I think it'll be in December, one of the first Sundays in December. I'm not sure. December 7th. So, I encourage everybody to stop by and thank our firemen for their service and uh enjoy some pancakes. That's it. >> Council member Tim H. >> Okay. So, I just got a couple things due for the fire department. So, we did have the electrical damage that happened a few months ago. Um, a lot of the stuff is getting repaired. some of the stuff is just a little bit slower because of supply and demand. Um, but we do have a really good electrical guy that's been helping us out quite a bit. Um, Tim's been involved with a lot of the repairs. He probably know a lot more than I do. Um, the the electrical damage started with the electrical service, the power from the pole to the um, building. We're getting a new one installed. We've already signed up. It's it's already scheduled. It'll be done here, I assume, the next month. It's scheduled for December 2nd from Excel, but that who knows >> and I think Tom McCarthy was working on getting that >> moved up. Tom McCarthy's a machine. >> Um, so we are we are getting a new electrical service. It'll be all underground. We don't have to worry then about squirrels or water damage. Um, and Excel laid out everything for us. They gave us the plan and everything. So they'll hook up they'll give it to a transport transformer behind the building and then from the building we'll have an electrical contractor hook it up to the building. Um so that's going to that's in the works. It should be done soon. After that gets done then we're starting to look at getting a new generator. >> Yep. >> And Tim's heavily involved with getting the generator and all his hard work. Um we did get the um long-term study back. There was a presentation they went through was quite a long time but there's a lot in there for um recommendations and I know some of the cities are asking already what what the recommend what to start with we can't you know they can't just do 50 at a time so there you know some of the people have asked the cities you know what what should we do what are the five things we should put up put start but we haven't had a meeting >> since the study so we haven't talked about it as the district board yet so I mean, that's a little, you know, we're kind of jumping the gun a little bit. Um, and then like Tim said there, the pancake breakfast is December 7th. It starts at 8 a.m. I encourage people to go. It's a great way to meet your um fire members and donate to the relief association and actually um the food is actually pretty good. Um, so yeah, I encourage everyone to go there, you know, and the and the big thing is if you have an emergency and you and people come to your house and you don't know them, that's just another added stress while you're in a situation where you need help. And I've been in the situation where they came to my mom and I knew everybody there. All seven of the guys that came showed up. I even knew the sheriff who showed up. >> Um, and it's a it's it's it's a lot better and you should um get out and support the members. Um, I would assume in the spring I'll walk walk around with uh, uh, Mr. Peri in order to just determine whether we need to do any crack sealing or something like that. Um, probably not much of anything. You notice some hairline cracks in it, but I'm not sure what they do with those, if if anything. Um, who the
