We are at Tanner's Lake Park in Oakdale. I was on the parks and recck commission and was really enjoying my time there, getting to know city staff, getting to know um council member Morham because he's the liaison to that commission and getting to know so much about this community. I would run uh on my weekend long runs. I would run from park to park. I had, we'll call it the opportunity this weekend to run 18 miles through our city. And um I ran with a friend of mine and it's so much fun to bring people to Oakdale. >> I was used to all of the logistics of meetings. I was not used to the enormous learning curve that it takes to tackle being a city council member and I was not used to uh the um the very public life that it is. Um I think it's wonderful. It just is something you get used to. >> Thank you guys so much for joining us today. Welcome to the 2025 Whitebear Area Chamber of Commerce annual meeting and business awards. >> My work at the chamber and my time as an elected official in Oakdale, it overlaps so much. I learn so much in one of the positions that I get to apply in the other position. And I it takes yes it takes so much energy um to do it all and to be present for everything but also there's so much alignment between the two um the two positions that it it's kind of exciting when when it builds on itself, right? And and it doesn't feel like extra work when I'm doing that. It feels just normal. It feels like a continuation of the other position. Honestly, I echo your sentiments. I'm so excited to see this move forward. Um, Tainers Lake became something that I was really excited about and interested in in the park renovation opportunity. Um, so I am just delighted that we get to sit here today and start taking action on um, all of the hard work that's been put into this so far. I am so excited to be a part of the council that got to vote on some of the changes and the upgrades that are coming to this park. I love local government and I hope that you know when this term is done that the the residents of Oakdale would want to keep me representing them in their city government. I really really love this work.
