Motion carries. 4.0 is our workshop items and we do have one this evening and it is 4.1 nutrition services budget and that will be presented by Abby Baker. Good evening. Tonight we have the privilege of hearing from two amazing leaders um who play such a vital role in our students health and wellness every day. Wendy Peterson, our director of nutrition services, and Bobby Joe Grummans, our assistant director of nutrition services, will be taking us through the nutrition services budget tonight, as well as some of the great work that they are doing both throughout the district and in our community. So, thank you both for being here. Thank you for having us. Um, so I am going to take on the first step of our presentation today and discuss some of the highlights for the year for nutrition services. And so when the year started, um, Julie asked all of the different departments to come up with a department initiative as well as a a district initiative. And we really wanted to tag on to the goal of improving literacy and thought about how could we do this in the cafeteria. And so one of the ways we did this is come up with a campaign that was called food is fun. And we did this in a variety of ways. It was um started with the elementary level and we did so with nutrition ed that was based for the littles and then we also did some fun themes and jokes and different special events for them and then as the students got older we built on that and made it more age appropriate. Um, one of the other things that we were very excited to do this year is that was that to bring back our theme days. And it has been quite a few years probably since COVID that we were able to do this. Um, but this year we were able to incorporate a variety of theme days into not only the menus but fun in the cafeteria. And so the first thing that we did for the year is our border battle. And you can see some pictures and examples of some of the things we did. So, for instance, during border battle, um it's the Vikings Packers game. We turn everything on the salad bar purple, yellow, white, and green. We have to throw some green in there. Sorry. Um but that was a fun event for the students. They get encouraged through communications to dress in their favorite sports attire. Um, we had a dead of winter luau wher…
