[3:52] recognition oh there you go i heard it did you okay we're going to start tonight with a recognition there we go [3:58] okay so why don't we have our representatives from the boys track team [4:04] and coaches come on up and we'll have you come stand up in front of the screen here [4:17] so as a former track coach from [4:24] over 25 years ago now um I had the opportunity to teach and [4:29] coach our student athletes in something called the Minnesota True Team Championships and the difference and [4:38] coaches you can correct me if I'm wrong here uh the difference with true team rather than a regular state meet is they [4:46] really check the team side of your your uh your team out and that by that I mean [4:53] is it two people per event class AAA is three people per event score we were 2A [4:59] so it was two and a half I think so so three people for per event compete against all the other teams in this [5:05] section and they go on to state and based upon the scores of those three people and we do relays as well uh a [5:13] state champion is crowned and so what it really does it not only tests the uh [5:19] some of the individual skills of the team but it also so uh tests the uh [5:25] depth and really the team nature of it and so We have and I don't know coach is [5:31] this our first two team championship or how many we had here we have this is our fourth one alto together and the last [5:38] time we won was 2000 and or sorry 1997 [5:43] okay well I was still coaching holy cow so that's been a while so um quite a feat here and uh I'll just [5:50] turn over to you anything you want to say or introduce or No this is um this [5:56] is a a group of representatives we have all of our seniors here all of our captains here oh and then uh an EMTT [6:02] Valley who uh who's one of our younger throwers here but was also competing at the state true team meet so um as Dr [6:11] funk said it measures a true measurement of of how deep you are on as a team and [6:18] and how good your team is whereas the meet that we were just in um you might [6:25] only have six guys who scored we had over 40 guys that were participating in [6:30] the state true team um meet and representing our city and and our school [6:36] and they did a fantastic job winning our first state meet since 1997 in which I [6:42] was an athlete on the team and Edie here was just starting to come into the high [6:47] school at that time so we've come full circle over the course of uh um well [6:54] when I was a kid and got to come over and take over as a head coach of this program so um these guys have a great [7:00] honor that they get bestowed upon them being a true team champion [7:06] it's our main goal when we come into the season is to win this meet and we've [7:11] come close in the last four years we've been fourth place over the last four years and it came together on a windy [7:19] rainy night as most of our track meets were this year um and they performed [7:25] beyond wha…
