Heat. Heat. [Music] Okay. >> Um, it is Thursday, September 18th at 6 PM. We are at the district service center in Cottage Grove, Minnesota. We would like to acknowledge that the land on which we gather is the land of the Midwakatan Dakota people. Midawakatan means dwellers of the spirit lake. First item on the agenda is 1.0. Roll call. Please stand. I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. >> 3.0 is approval of the agenda. Can I get a motion to approve an amended agenda adding 7.4 Woodbury High School Girls Hockey Co-op? >> I so moved. >> Second. Moved by Sharon, seconded by Melinda. Any comments? >> All those in favor? >> I. >> Any opposed? >> Motion carries. >> 4.0 is comments to the board. We don't have any this evening. So, we'll move on to 5.0 and that is consent items. All consent items are considered routine and non-controversial by the school board and will be approved by a single motion. There will be no re separate discussion of these items. Prior to this meeting, board members have had the opportunity to review each item and may request for any item to be moved to an action item for individual consideration. That did not happen this evening. So, can I get a motion to approve? >> So, moved. >> Second. >> Motion by Simmyi, seconded by Eric. All those in favor? >> I. >> Any opposed? Motion passes. 6.0 I know is information items and we do have one this evening and that is 6.1 summer learning update and that will be presented by um Jake Winchell, director of community education. >> Thank you. Good evening, Chair Schwarz, members of the board, Superintendent Nielsen. Thank you for the opportunity tonight to highlight some of the incredible work that's happening across the district this summer. Summer is a unique a unique time in education. It gives us a chance to extend learning, close some opportunity gaps, and provide enrichment experience that go beyond the traditional school year. Many of us know that the school buildings certainly do not shut down during the summer. This past summer, we saw students engaged in many different programs in which we will highlight some of them here tonight. These summer programs help students build confidence, stay connected with their peers, earn credits, have a safe place to be, and to return ready for uh ready to return to school ready for success in the fall. Tonight, you'll hear from several of our program leaders and staff who will share more about credit recovery, targeted services, extended school year, and kids club. What you'll notice across these reports is the incredible commitment that by our staff to make these programs happen each summer. In addition to the leaders who m…
