As we have no members of the public in the audience this evening, uh we will move on to the consent agenda. Um, are there any changes to the consent agenda? >> Hearing none, I'll move to adopt. >> Thank you. >> I'll second. >> I have a motion from council member Sumar and a second from council member Ingamman to adopt the consent agenda as presented. Any discussion? >> All those in favor say I. >> I. Those opposed. >> The consent agenda is adopted. Next, we have the engineers report. We have our engineer John Herdigan with us this evening. >> Mayor, good evening, members of the council. Uh, I have nothing to report this evening, but happy to stand for questions. >> Wow, no questions. Okay, thank you, John. >> Thanks. [laughter] >> Next, we have the Superintendent of Public Works report. >> Uh, good evening, Mayor Elliot and council members. I also have nothing formal this evening, but I'm happy to stand for any questions. >> Okay. We getting much um many people out at the ice rink skating. We have had pretty good attendance. Um when it's cold like this, um it obviously decreases. Uh we still plan to have the warming houses open. Um but if you're planning on coming up and dropping off a kid, we encourage you to just double check online when it's this cold to make sure no emergencies have come up where we couldn't have the warming house open. So, >> okay. Thank you. And as usual, we've got the bags of grit in the foyer if you need something to help uh make your driveway less slippery. Um any questions for Matt? Council member Sumar, >> comment on the bags of grit. They are 25 pounds. >> Yeah, we had a question about that last at the last meeting. >> That was raised last time and I did check into that. So, [laughter] >> thank you for that. >> Thank you, Council Member Sumar. Um, next we have the administration report. [clears throat] >> Mayor, members of the council, uh, nothing formal tonight, but, uh, happy to stand for questions. >> Any questions? We've had some real busy and long council meetings over the last couple of months. So, this is this is probably the result of all of that hard work is is one that doesn't go uh quite as long. So, next we have a mayor and council comments. I do want to remind people um we're going to have the winter family fun night on Saturday, January 31st. It'll be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Loveland Park. And Loveland Park is located at 1500 Glenn Road. Um they do some games. There's a bonfire. There's some snacks and drinks. And they're going to have an illuminated uh trail walk this year as well. So, I think that sounds like a really um fun event. you'll get to meet some new people, some neighbors, and um generally it's pretty well attended. So, I'd encourage people to come out and do that. Um I also wanted to uh let people know we've talked off and on about our federal application for uh a community uh funded programming often called earmarks. So, um I think I announced probably eight or nine months ago that we ended up getting on both, uh Senator Clolobashar's list, Senator Smith's list, as well as Representative Craig's list. Um those lists have made their way through the appropriate appropriations committees for the US Senate and the US House and uh they have moved on and been voted on in the House and the Senate and are now awaiting um presidential signature. So we are hopeful that that goes through smoothly. It's a little over a million dollars towards um influent infiltration uh projects here in Newport. Um, if you watch at all, you'll know I talk about inflow and infiltration a lot. John probably talks about a little more than I do, but um, it's uh, one of those infrastructure problems that nobody really sees, but is really important that you take care of. Um, and that's all I have to report. Uh, Council Member Ingramman, >> I have nothing to report. >> Thank you, Council Member Taylor. Council member Schmidt, >> Council Member Sumar, >> I am very happy to report that this evening at 6 o'clock in our library and community center, there is a dinner preceding a winter storytelling event. >> At 7:00, it is going to be done by members of the Red Cliff Band of Lake Superior Chipa. And it is going to honor the fact that in the winter the natives would gather around the campfires and tell tales. So tonight it's going to be put on by the laughing fox. So that is one reason that we can hurry to get out. And at 6 we have dinner and at 7 we have a presentation tonight in our public library. >> Is it indoor or outdoor dinner? [laughter] >> You have to show up. You have to show up to find out. >> You have to show up. No, it's I believe it's going to be in >> I'm just trying to figure out dress warm or dress warmer. [laughter] >> Thank you. >> If it is outdoors, I'm bringing mine in. I [laughter] will send you. >> Thank you very much for that. Um that was our last item on our formal agenda. So I would look for a motion to adjurnn. >> So move second. I >> have a motion from council member Ingamman and a second from council member Sumar. Any discussion? M >> all those in favor say I. I. Those opposed we are adjourned. Thank you for watching. >> Should we take a break?
