to order. First item is I pledge algiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands. One nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. All right. And then next is approval of the agenda. I move approval as presented with the addition of consent agenda item at the work session for our next meeting on June 24th. Second. All those in favor? I opposed. Motion carries. Council and staff reports. Um well, I was at Partan Park with everybody and I it was fantastic last week and I'd like to thank all the city staff for everything you guys did and the rest of the council members for the time they put in. So, thank you for that. That's all I have. I was also at Party in the Park. And I also want to thank Council Member Dohy in particular for serving hot dogs when I would disappear to go get. So, and thank you to staff as well. It was a great event. And as someone said, it was um if they if every day of summer could be like party in the park, it would be the best summer ever. So, that was a cute statement to hear. Uh oh. Council member Liginrren. Uh yeah, I would echo that. I think um turnout was uh great, weather was great. Um got to talk to a lot of people which was nice. So um the other thing our fire advisory committee um meeting will be tomorrow 5. Yep. 5:00. Council member Ro. Um obviously I was at burning the park also and want to thank staff for the work they did. Um the one meeting that I had this month with uh the board of soil and water resources. Normally it doesn't there's anything there that directly impacts us but this month the committee meeting that I added now at the general meeting the topic is the Washington County groundwater plan for the next 10 years and for the most part it doesn't our city plans um take care of us but it is something that if somebody wants to see it I do have a copy Okay. Thank you. Um, city administrator, uh, deputy mayor, council, uh, really pleased to report this evening that we have water back in our lookout, uh, water mane. Yay. Yes. Yes. So, I uh um am so appreciative of our staff for all the work that um, you know, was put into that. Uh, our consulting team from Stantech, too, just bouncing ideas off of them. as you know, uh this was just a very complicated matter that we were dealing with. And then most importantly, appreciate the patience that our residents had over there, just extreme patience. There was a lot of disruption. Um but I'm glad that we're finally there. The water isn't turned on yet to their homes. We have water in the water man. Uh just getting things finalized here and hope uh that the water will be at back on um where they will be not on the temporary water service, but on the permanent water service then here later this week. So happy to report that and appreciate all the efforts uh by our staff in working through this challenge. Excellent. Chief of police. Yes, council. Just a quick uh information. Next Wednesday at the high school, there'll be a large law enforcement presence up there. Uh there'll be training from uh the SWAT uh members from all over the county. So we'll they'll be in the afternoon and we'll post that on our uh social media platform as well and signs out in front. But there will be a big uh contingency of uh law enforcement up there on that Wednesday. That's it. Thank you. Assist Assistant City Administrator. Yes. Deputy mayor, members of the council, a couple things for you tonight. First, your recycling award winner, the first winner for the month of June, Mary Beecher at 14372 Upper 56th Street North. And then secondly, I do want to thank all of our council and staff for an wonderful party in the park. I'm just echoing what you all said earlier. The weather was amazing. We can't plan for that, but that was lucky and everything else. Just a lot of planning and hard work to make it a great event. Thank you. All right. It doesn't look like we have any visitors or public comments tonight. So, we'll go on to consent agenda. Uh approval approval bills and investments checks 71,881 to 71,863. Approve city council work session notes from May 27th, 2025. Approve city council minutes from May 27th, 2025. Approve a resolution authorizing the receipt of donations to the city and directing the donations to be used for party in the park. Approval to not wave statutory limits for the city's li city liability insurance for 2025 2026 and uh set a work session for 5:00 on June 24th. I move approval of the consent agenda as presented. No public hearings. No old business. New business as a resolution filling the mayor's seat and declaring a vacancy. I'll take and read it if you want me to. Jake, I'm sorry. I said I'll read it. Oh, sure. Go ahead. I said because I'll make the Whereas the office of the mayor is vacant effective May 26, 2025. And whereas pursuant to statute, the council may appoint one of its own members as to the office of mayor and whereas the offices of mayor and city council are incompatible. Now therefore it be resolved that the city council the city of Oark Heights of Minnesota as follows. One appoint the city the council appoints Chuck Dohy to the office of mayor. Two, the council declares that a vacancy exists on the city council effective June 10th, 2025. I will make that motion. Second. Okay, it's been moved and seconded. Roll call. Roll call. Um then this uh next item would be a resolution updating our city appointments. I make the motion that we approve the resolution updating the city appointments. Second roll call. Do we want to have the city administrator discuss the application process for the new council vacancy at a high level for anyone watching? Yeah, absolutely. Um, for all those folks that are watching here uh at our work session uh the council had discussions about filling the vacancy uh here that uh is now apparent uh with uh deputy mayor moving up to mayor. Uh so we do have a vacancy in the city council uh seat. So, we will be putting out an application here this week uh for residents uh to fill out and complete return back to city hall. Uh deadline is I think we had decided on July uh 3rd. So, encourage folks to look at our website, our Facebook page for that application. Okay. Thank you. Anything else? Not a motion to adjurnn.
